She is a light lyric, it is more obvious on her old songs but her voice is still pretty light, bright and girly even though she is not a teen anymore and she lacks the agulity of a lyric coloratura or leggero + has always had more weight to her voice while maintaining that youthful tone but her voice is not mature enough to be considered a full lyric

A mezzo does not become a soprano over time, it is actuqlly possible to be the otjer way around in some cases but Demu's tessitura, pasaggio weight, timber and color still screams soprano, will this be her voice forever? We don't know yet, there are sopranos who turn into mezzos later in tyeir careers like christina aguilera for example.

No in 2020 she's proven that she's a soprano. Her voice is much healthier and stronger and her high notes, she's sustaining them. Live so she's improved a lot
Selena can't sing. I'm a lamb/little monster. Demi can sing, obviously. But her belts are not that pleasant to the ear, they are not supported and sometimes strained which make them literally screams (whether they have a pitch or not, which in this case they do). Take for example the live versions of the A5 from Sorry Not Sorry, you can clearly hear her struggle to reach that note/sing with closed throat and high larynx. Listen to her recent Star Spangled Banner performance and you'll see what I mean by "screaming".
