Just watched your video about your visit to Sunderland.. we live in St Annes / Blackpool.. my great great grandfather founded Sunderland Football club and we found your video fabulous… thank you so much ..
Wow I imagine that's an amazing story I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. I have a few more to come and we are filming a new one this weekend where we are following Jane's 2nd club Chase Town where she was match secretary during the Blackpool fans Boycott. I will be posting these new ones up over the coming months, thanks for watching and the comment
Thanks for appreciating some of Sunderland’s attractions. There’s a new footbridge opening in a few months time connecting the Fire station area with the football stadium, and the new Sheepfolds development of restaurants and bars. There’s lots to be optimistic about in my hometown at the moment.Good post from you.👍
Sunderland is alright, not as bad as people say it is. Yes the centre is lacking a little but i seen loads of regeneration going on when i was there. They have lots of landmarks , more than newcastle has, which i was suprised about as you only ever see newcastle bridge on tv from up there. Also sunderland has a top level seafront which i did not know they had, with bars and restaurants and it was very clean.
More than Newcastle are you having a laugh Sunderland is a 💩 of a place 3th worst in the UK 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 wot has Sunderland got more than Newcastle nothing
Best pier in the world Roker, we also have car and bus rallies in the summer at Seaburn, and hopefully going to have our own 'Elstree studio' making blockbuster films. cannonball rock only place you can find it in Seaburn. had you came in the 1970's we were as big as Blackpool, Arnold out of the terminator films was actually at Seaburn fair at that time ! the tardis originated from Sunderland as well. the first timelord assistant actor was from Sunderland. you can go under the pier through a tunnel as well, biggest shipyard in the world 1950's, longest metal bridge at the time (Alexander) oldest mine in the world Wearmouth colliery.
All great facts thank you. I have to say I wasn't expecting Sunderland to be as good as it was but ended up absolutely loving the couple of day there. Hopefully one day Blackpool will get back up and we can visit again just hope it doesn't take another 30 years like it did from 1976 -2006 🙏🏻
Really enjoyed this video of Sunderland. I am a southern Sunlun supporter and I tell my friends how nice it is, but I think they believe me! I have subscribed to your channel.
Hi Viv I hope that they definitely will believe you if they ever get to watch this video🙂 we loved our trip to 'Sunlun' Thanks for the sub we really appreciate it🧡
Really enjoyed that, brought back childhood memories of walking up to Penshaw from the footpathless other side of the hill. Penshaw monument used to have a staircase in one corner which you could use to go on the top part. This was closed before my time after a fatal accident.
I only know Vaux because they used to be Blackpools shirt sponsor back in the day but it's great to hear they produced a great beer. Jane is an award winning beer writer and if you enjoy reading you may enjoy reading her blog of our trip which can be found on her website www.janestuart.co.uk 🙂
I live in Plymouth, Sunderland is one of the most similar cities to Plymouth I've been to in Britain, even though they are some distance apart.... Sunderland even has the pebble dash estates clinging to hills! It has a very interesting waterfront as well though..
I live very near, never been to the aircraft museum, the fans museum, the fire station, the brewery thanks for the look around ! You missed out on Marsden Grotto and canny South Shields though.
Hi Paul if we ever get back up from League 1 (you guys know only too well how hard that is!) and we get a chance to visit again we will make sure to fit those in, thanks for the heads up 🙂👍🏼
Thank you I'm really glad to hear that. We have had a lot of fun making these so far, we have made some great memories and hey if the football spoils it, as is quite often the case with Blackpool 🤣 it doesn't ruin the weekend quite so much. We hope that these come in handy for anyone who enjoys making a weekend of an away day like we do. There's a few more still in the pipeline and I'm hoping these are better understood by TH-cam than on my other channel 🤞🙏
We are glad you enjoyed our little visit. Jane does a lot of planning with these I just go along with it all😂 but she tries to find the things that we enjoy to do and she knows the kind of things that I like to film and we always try to see 'the good and the joy' wherever we go and we find if we do these with that mindset we have a great time. Honestly we love the people in the North East everyone was so friendly that we met and bought into what we were doing, It was a wonderful visit and it's great to see how well Sunderland are doing we like to think we brought you some luck 🧡
Thanks so much 1Arty glad you enjoyed it we had a wonderful time hopefully one day Blackpool will get back up and we get to stay again (although we know as much as you that isn't as easy as people think🙁)
Hi Campervanagram (love that name btw) I'm glad you enjoyed it as we had a wonderful time whilst we were there so I am happy it comes across. Thanks for the sub and if you ever fancy making an away trip into a long weekend/mini break I see that you have Huddersfield, Birmingham, Southampton, Cardiff and West Brom all coming up over the next few months and we have filmed Football Tourist Guides for all of those so feel free to check them out 🙂👍🏼
The Vulcan arrived at what was Washington Airfield.....before Nissan was built. I remember watching it land as a kid. Unfortunately Sunderland Council gobbled up Washington and Houghton to make a bid as a City. Newcastle fan here, and it still wrankles!
Ah yes I can imagine that still would Dave. Impressive planes, we also encountered another one on the Carlisle Football Tourist Guide where we had a bit of a guided tour (well worth a watch)
Thanks Davey glad you enjoyed the video and I agree it was fascinating for me as well to have a little look behind the scenes of the brewery. It was very cool 😎 please let them know you saw the video next time you go in because I filmed this back in Oct 2022 and I was getting so down with vlogging Blackpool getting relegated I was very close to quitting altogether and I'm so sorry I didn't get this out for them so much quicker. I imagine it's that long ago that they have forgotten all about it but they were wonderful and I'm so pleased I've now finally managed to be able to complete this video for them and also for you all to see how wonderful we found Sunderland to be 🙂🧡
We don't often go to the tower and the pleasure beach so I get it, it is funny how we don't do things that are right on our doorstep. Have to say it is a very good museum with a lot packed into it and planes are always impressive 🙂👍🏼
I live a few streets back from the hotel you were staying in. You can regularly see dolphin along our coast but unfortunately, during the last few big storms, the pier took some major damage and is closed for up to 18 months now. Great video and thanks for sharing your experiences with us all.
That was very interesting looks a good place to visit. I have been many times to Bloomfield road a great old ground. Good luck with channel. I have subscribed to see what else you get up to.

Very good video. Shame the dolphins didn’t put an appearance in on your visit. It can be quite funny watching them follow the open water swimmers and paddle boarders.
Hi Rob, Jane was so disappointed that we couldn't see the dolphins after she found out they were there we saved it as the very last thing before we left. maybe next time we visit (that's if we ever get back up)
I walk my dog on Roker Beach (which you were looking over from the North Pier)most days and see them on a reasonably regular basis. Another obsessed mag on a Sunderland video - still living rent free in the Saudi gobbling heads
We look for the joy Graham when we make these videos to show other travelling fans some great things to do, eat, drink and stay, life's too short to not see the beauty in it. Blackpool a dangerous place? 🤣😂
Would not like to say you are ignorant, but how long as Blackpool been a city?
@@peterramsey8058 He can't even spell cities correctly lol
Plastic City.
Should have gone the extra 13 miles north to a proper city 😊
Grow up sad Mag
A proper city with no beach?
Only chance of that is if we draw you in a cup game can't see us getting back in the PL anytime soon
13 miles north gets you to Cullercoats!!
