It's a pretty piece. It's amazing how you transform old discarded pieces into stunning furniture. I had a buffet like this one, had it for years. Bought it at a yard sale, moved it around the country with me. Last move to this house, there was no room for it, so I had to let it go;. But I sure did love that old buffet.
I love old buffet's like this. I just sold one in my booth and i painted and donated one to our church. I have another one in my stash. They r so beautiful!!! Great job on transforming it. I kept saying...don't put on the veneer...lol. Then you said i decided not to use it and i calmed down...lol. it's very beautiful!!!!
I took a smaller version of this same buffet and made a vanity in my master bath. The veneer on the top was really rough and I had never done veneer work before so I was concerned. When I stripped the old veneer from the top it revealed all different species of scrap wood with some worm holes and all together it was beautiful. I embraced it and it is a beautiful unique counter top that nobody else has.
Very pretty. I love the wash you used on it. As soon as you took off the rounded pieces to the legs, I was thinking it looked better without. Good call leaving them off.
So glad you chose not to use the veneer! It’s a beautiful piece and I’m surprised how much I like the lighter finish, rather than if it had been stained darker. I love your work!
I’ve been binge watching your videos & girl, you are so talented. I just stumbled across your videos today, I’m so thankful I found you. By this time next year you will at LEAST be at 200,000 subscribers, up to 500,000. By the next year you may be at a million. At the very least, 500,000.
I had one just like that where the top was trashed. I removed all the veneer on top put 3 coats of liquid wood on top created graining and stained. Turned out beautifully. So did your piece. What an amazing job!
How beautiful my friend....Yeah I bet You Keep this beauty haha .. Gorgeous....once my hardware arrives I will show you the complete photo on IG ..you did an amazing job 🥰❣️👍
This is lovely, Glenda. I love how pretty it looks lightened up. The wood on its top is really dramatic and suits the total look of the buffet. You did another wonderful transformation.🌸
This turned out really beautiful and very updated. I am always amazed how you are able to take on very challenging pieces of furniture and turn them into like new.
Very nine job. I have a damaged old buffet that needs some love. It's going to be my goal to restore it to it's original beauty so -videos such as these inspire me. Thank you.
I have the same piece but in pretty good shape....just used some bees wax polish ...looks great...it was in my husband's family and said please don't paint it!!!!
Wow!!! That looks GORGEOUS Glenda!!! You did a great job! How do you like the Surf Prep? It looks like a good sander that conforms to the surface and is easy to use.
That veneer looked like construction paper. Glad you didn't use it. But personally I would have put the pieces back on the legs. It fits the Era of the piece. Without it looks a little more 70s-ish. But you did a beautiful job. So much care went into it.
That Jacobean buffet is beautiful. I've seen them online selling for thousands of dollars.
So beautiful! I’m so glad that these antique pieces are making a comeback. They make a statement in any room. Great job on this piece. 👍

I may have missed it. But pretty sure that’s a Made by Johns Since 1891 piece. They are pretty valuable. I’ve sold a few and did very well.

It looks fabulous. In fact, very much the same design as my grandmother's that my sister now has.
