- I take a walk from The Alamo to San Antonio's River Walk in July 2023.
The Alamo is a historic Spanish mission and former fortress. It played a significant role in the Texas Revolution and is now a popular tourist destination and a symbol of Texan heritage
The River Walk is situated along the San Antonio River, winding through the heart of downtown San Antonio. It encompasses a network of pedestrian walkways, bridges, and pathways that follow the curves of the river. Visitors can take guided boat tours or cruises along the river, providing a different perspective of the area's architecture, landmarks, and natural beauty. It is lined with numerous restaurants, cafes, and bars, making it a popular destination for dining and socializing.

I grew up in San Antonio and remember when all that stuff wasn't down there. The area around the San Antonio River was high a crime area where the occasional dead body showed up. During that time San Antonio was mostly military which is how I ended up growing up there. Mayor Henry Cisneros turned the city around with the Riverwalk construction and Sea World. Thank god as bases started closing. Now San Antonio is based on tourism, not the military. Mayor Cisneros was the best thing that ever happened to San Antonio
