Musica Mathematica I by Wayne I. L. Davies

Based on a “C” note cluster, this composition seeks to unite music and mathematics through the shared axioms of space and time. The piece explodes like the “Big Bang” and proceeds to encode two mathematical number progressions, the primes and the Fibonacci series, against a rhythmic backdrop constructed from pi. The piece was submitted as part of a call for scores for a “One-Note Music” project led by Juan Maria Solare.
