I have seen a few reviews of major complaints like no bungee strap around it to help it close down. Did you have this issue also? And have you tried it out in high wind? We beach camp and are sometimes exposed to close to gale force winds. Wanted to know how well you think this tent would hold up in extreme winds? Thanks!
No, There is no need for a bungee to help it close, that what the gas struts are for, you just fold the ladder inside then pull it closed with the strap and tuck the remender of the tent inside takes 5 min the close it.
Yes, I have camped in high wind. I live in southern alberta, where wind of 60km an hour is common. Just make sure that you position the opening of the tent in the opposite direction of where the wind is coming from
@geminithetruck thanks for the reply! We ordered one yesterday and have been using the james baroud evasion evo for all our trips but needed a bigger model for the kids to camp with us as well! Glad to know it will withstand the wind

Ya, my tent is 175 pounds, took 3 guys, and almost busting nut to get it on my truck

I have the 4 person model, I added a grab handle similar to what you'd use in a Jeep crossbar to get into the vehicle, bought a pair from amazon, they came with metal grommets already attached, placed the handle by the front fastener (give or take a quarter of an inch) just to help with closing one of the 4 the built in rubber fasteners, that shell is slippery to close, much more harder in cooler temps vs when its warmer. The mattress is, for what I paid for the rtt, terrible. Too thin with out a pad underneath your hips, back, shoulders,...basically everything will be sore the next morning. My rtt came with the bungee cords and a slew of spare "things' that I have no clue where the hell they go on the ladder or the rtt itself.
I have the 4 person model as well, personally I sleep like a baby in the thing and don't find the mattress terrible even with me having a bad back from a Car accident years ago I don't wakeup sore, I don't have an issue closing it, I just hop on my tailgate to get the first latch closed then the rest of he latches close easy enough for me even in -20 , but I do agree there is 2 flat black thing I cant seem to find any place they go
