You took “at least I look this good” literally. I took it as someone trying to brush off all the hurt and trauma, looking at the mirror, fighting with all their might to hold back tears, trying to make herself feel somewhat better by saying.. “hey.. at least I still look like this” but knowing no matter how good she looks, she’s already broken.
i don't think the lyric needs change, i think it fits perfectly. especially with it being about the media who were bashing her looks for a few years until the homewrecking allegations started
I totally agree about the 'at least I look this good' - like the song has so much emotional depth to it and I dunno. It feels dramatic to say it but that line feels so totally against the song and it's meaning. I can understand if it's supposed to represent still having self-confidence after the relationship but on its own it doesn't portray that feeling enough so it just sounds so out of nowhere and weird. I love the song and it feels horrible to say but that line in the middle of song literally puts me off listening because I know it's coming and takes away from the brilliance of the rest of ut
the song is about her relationship with the media/public ( i would really suggest listening to the song again with that in mind and it’ll make sense to you) & her saying that they’ve got her misunderstood but at least she looks that good is that with all the articles/ stories that are being written about her and people on the internet that are trying to paint her out to be something she’s not well at least she looks good in the images they’re using of her when talking shit about her. also she had said this song is up for interpretation so if you were to relate this song to a relationship then again it’s actually a very good line because sometimes although things are falling apart around us having that little something that you can say “at least…..” and also sometimes it’s having that little humour during the hard times or having that self confidence boost can really do wonders. one thing about ariana is she uses humour and her being unserious in times to get her through the hard times.

Her issues was debunked, Ethan and his wife is already seperated and the divorce is being processed even before he filmed Wicked, which means their already seperated before he met Ari, for me im still not sure tho, we will never know if its the truth or not and its up to us who to belive but as someone who seperate art from the artist i guarantee you, her album is worth to listen too 💛
