Her singing has gotten so good. I was at her concert in late 2022. They had some technical problems and she sang this one without a microphone and without in-ear monitors. Just her voice and the keyboard accompaniment. It was charming then, pretty wonderful now.

‘Desert Rose’ was written by Sting (1999) who is english but it suits her very well.

Yes! As a Chinese speaker, I confirm Faouzia’s mandarin pronunciation is so so accurate( native speaker level), I love her performance so much❤

BTW - there s an unofficial video of Faouzia and Kelly Clarkson singing the Arabic version of “I Dare You” as a duet. The official lyric video is on Kelly’s channel. But it looks like someone edited Smule videos together in split screen. You can really see how these two ladies sing.

In Moroccan Darija (her mother tongue), we usually say "Fuziyya" (emphasis on the y), but the Standard Arabic pronunciation of the nameis close to how it's written in English "Faouzia". Moroccan Darija tends to simplify diphtongs or eat vowels altogether.
