When I bought this album, I thought that this track was the coolest thing ever! It's layed back and the solos are HOT! And yes, I have the original album:)
Growing up around Chicago, I remember this song first catching my ear as the theme music to the late show on WGN television. Of course, being a young white kid, I was into the Beatles, Hendrix, Led Zep, etc....but this song gave me my first interest in blues music and I am so happy that it did. My wife and I had a chance to live in Memphis from 2005-2006 and hitting the clubs on Beale Street brought a lot of those good memories back. Thank you for posting this.
Masterpiece! thanks for share it! #classicalmonday #jazz
Mr. Donaldson is a true jazz Great! Embodies the swing and grows majestic phrases [1 personz OpiniOn]... and a sharpshooter on the Links, to boot. Dig thaat!
It is Friday again, those who had a tough week may be just a little bit tired. Take a short break, perhaps, for a 10 minute breather. If you do go, one charming and elegant walk I happen to know is the blues walk. Lou Donald will tag along to chat with you and I am sure he will show you the way.
@jazzableful Thank you very much :-) All the artists you mentioned are all geniuses! It is true that "Blues Walk" is a magical piece :-) I apologize for my English :-) Friendships, Franco
I just stumbled upon your channel by accident. So glad I found it. Nice jams!!!! I'll be busy for awhile checkin em all out. It's going to be so enjoyable in the process :)
I don't know why Bluenote doesn't make this great album available on a 24 bit on a Rudy Van Gelder enhanced CD. It's certainly in the top 10 of the lable's expansive catalog. The same can be said for Lee Morgan's Cornbread.
hahaha i know what ya mean, i play alt and this track is awesome to improvise! check Whiskey Drinking Woman from Lou, it's nice 2 improvise 2 on that track.. big up 4 the blues, jazz, soul, funk and hiphop peace!

By far Lou's best (and most popular) album. Lou's a survivor, but whenever I want to demonstrate why Bird was unreal, I play his 4-bar break on "Night in Tunisia" (from the Carnegie Hall date with Diz) and follow immediately with Lou playing the same break from his date with Art and Clifford at Birdland. It sounds very very amateurish by comparison, but not his fault. Bird was simply that much better.
Une crêpe à consommer sans modération ( écoutez) un must Franco ,la crème musicale !
"Blue's Walk" is the one to keep. It's simply marvelous "grooving'" music.
This is a cold blooded, badass cut. Yeah, I'm that old:). Thank you for a great upload.
