Excellent video. My Dad was Chief of Design at Helio from 67-75. He worked primarily on the Stallion project. I have a Maule MX7-235 now, someday would like to get a Courier. Neat to have first production Courier as well! Cheers.

That's cool, my father had a Helio 391B ser. # 096, used it for charter in the Canadian Arctic, 1960's and '70's

I crawled all over this plane when it was down at JAARS, in pieces, being rebuilt. I love this plane. Glad to see it flying.

Interesting camera angles--enjoyed seeing the slats and flaps in action. Amazing airplane!

Wow, cool. You got Ol' Number One. I didn't realize it went to Canada. I like what you did with the panel.

Not much of a break when that thing stalls... in fact, not much of a stall either.

    It doesn’t stall

Nonononono...you're doing that all wrong! On takeoff, you have to shove the nose into the ground, then yank back on the yoke and slam the tailwheel down good and hard and then wait for it to stagger of the ground. I seen on all the STOL cowboy videos.

The Helio doesn't stall. Comes down fast at 28kts though, 600fpm so make sure you have energy left for the flare. You only want 28 kts as the wheels touch. This one was too fast on touch down, Helio shouldn't bounce if you get it right, even tailwheel first & make sure the lock is in. (not in this video)

Maybe you are the best Helio pilot, but not me.

Nice camera angles, wish I had a GoPro when I had my Helio. It took me 100 hours to learn how to land it properly. Enjoy, I had mine for over 800 hours
