A wheel of 50 mm diameter rolls towards the right on a horizontal floor for half revolution and then on a vertical wall in the upward direction for the remaining half revolution without slipping. Draw the locus of the point P on the circumference of the wheel. Take the initial point of contact with the floor. Name the curve.

what is the radius for the arcs from c6 and c7 ?
Will it be the same if first half is in the vertical plane and second in the horizontal plane?
what to do when a circle rolls without slipping along a straight line for half revolution and it slips certain distance and stops and it is asked that to draw a locus of a point on the circle which is initially contact with the directing line plz anwer.
From c5 c6 c7 how do we decide that arcs are clockwise or anti clockwise in direction..
Sir how did the point P6 touched the 6 center line ? Because the radius b2in c3 and c4 is less than the actual radius.
sir i am getting the wrong p7 point and therefore a different curve appears from point P6 TO P8.Can you help me with that

When the circle is in vertical motion, what is the radius of the arc with C5 as centre and so on? Is it equal to the radius of the circle or the distance between C3 and C4?
It is equal to the radius of circle i.e small "r"

Well we just assumed that the wheel would travel upwards after first half revolution.
You can assume that the wheel would travel downwards after first half revolution and carry out the whole process again. The curve that you will get will be slightly different.

I we divide circle in 8 parts then we also have to divide tangent line into 8 parts or not?
A point is moving along the curved surface of a cylinder with a uniform speed and parallel to the axis. The cylinder is rotating about its ads with a uniform angular velocity in anticlockwise direction. From bottom of the cylinder, point P is covering a distance of 129 in two rotation of cylinder. Plot the locus of P for two complete rotation of cylinder. Take cylinder diameter equal as 60mm. name plotted curve ? Sir can you please make video on this
