    I mean Mako’s finale goes over a lake too though. Also no one talks about that Iron Rattler sometimes has red and blue lights flickering in the tunnel and how awesome the airtime is going into that break run in the back left because of they way it flings you to the right at the same time of getting awesome ejector

  • @Ryanreborn.
    @Ryanreborn. 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    I definitely agree with your #1 pick of magnum... that being said I’m a tad disappointed that Wildfire at SDC didn’t even get a mention because the final helix after the corkscrew into the pop of airtime on the brake run is actually pretty intense. Also I definitely wouldn’t have put Lightning Rod so low...

      @CEWThree 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm a little biased because Fiesta Texas was my home park for the better part of a decade, but the quarry wall drop at the end of Iron Rattler is my favorite ending, ever. It's such a massive drop to come that late in the ride, and the airtime is insane, to say nothing of the rush of shooting through that tunnel. I always started and ended my day there on Iron Rattler.

  • @matthewmularski3858
    @matthewmularski3858 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I might be a bit biased because it's my home park, but Kennywood has some of the best finales in the world. Jack Rabbit and Thunderbolt's last drop which gives some of those ride's best airtime, Phantom's insane ejector airtime, Racer's home stretch as you're right next to the other train, and Steel Curtain doesn't stop until you hit the brake run. Kennywood might be a smaller park but man do they know how to finish a ride.

    I appreciate the Runaway Mine Train love, even if it's just a "honorable mention". That last drop is crazy in the back, especially with how minimal the restraints are. Sure the ride is mild, but it still has its charm (it IS the first Mine Train after all!). It was even better back then when SFOT actually gave a damn about maintaining the park. Look up images, it's beautiful.

  • @collegeluvr
    @collegeluvr 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Lots to comment on. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for putting phantoms revenge on the list. Amazing. I am biased because it’s my home Park, but it is so amazing and most people just write off Kennywood without knowing the zen of riding that ride. Also, thank you from the bottom my heart times two for understanding that magnum is amazing. The one thing I like besides that final air time is that jump of airtime you get right before you go into the pretzel. I haven’t been on all these, but the ones I have I totally agree. The first time I rode Thunderbird I had no idea it ended the way I did. It was such a very awesome surprise. And of course the iconic helix ending on the legendary Beast and the crowd pleaser of Millie’s finale’. And Lightning Rod’s quad down! Yaya! The only one not on here that should have been is Maverick. Flying around the bend then that pop up of air time at the end? Top notch. Great list.

    The finale on Goldrusher is probably my favorite part of that ride. Dropping down into that helix and picking up speed before being shot up onto small hill and getting those last seconds of air time- Love it❣️
    Goliath's finale is great too. I haven't greyed/blacked out on that ride (yet) but I did put my arms up on that ride once and the G's that you pull on that helix finale are strong enough that it pushed my arms down.

  • @Soonjai
    @Soonjai 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Since I know Raptor's clone, Monster at Walygator, I totally agree with the insanity of that helix-finale, especially because Monster doesn't even have those Mid Course Brakes and therefore is stupidly fast in the 2nd halt all the time to the point where it can really hurt when that thing is hauling on hot summer days.
    My favorite finale though has to go to Untamed at Walibi Holland. It has a ejector moment while going through a series of the most insane headchoppers I have ever experienced (those metal support feel uncomfortably close), it then goes into a barrel roll and pops up into the brakes giving the front rows a last moment of airtime. True perfection.

    Iron Rattler will probably always be my favorite finale sequence: (1) dive off the quarry wall with crazy airtime, (2) going into the quarry wall, (3) extreme ejector airtime going into the brake run.

    I love the ending to Mystery Mine. If only it didn't hit the brakes quite so soon after the dive loop.
    I'm also glad you gave some love to Goldrusher's ending. It's a favorite from my childhood and the finale still seems impressive for an Arrow Mine Train.
    I have mixed feelings at the end of Magnum XL-200. I think where you sit does matter quite a bit and I think that the front and back have very clunky airtime that feels more like hitting a speed bump than actually getting sustained ejector airtime. That being said, in the right seats the airtime is phenomenal.

      I don’t hate Magnum, but it did hurt my thighs and I am a skinny person. The airtime is great, but the lap bars aren’t exactly accommodating to that airtime in my opinion. When I was going to Cedar Point I was expecting Magnum XL 200 to be a great ride because many people said it is awesome, but it was honestly the most disappointing coaster I rode at Cedar Point. Yes the airtime was good, but I found the ride to be painful. This is probably an unpopular opinion.

    Right when I saw the title I knew outlaw run is going to be way up there because that coaster was made to have a top notch ending and sure delivers because that second barrel roll you really slow down and get some crazy air time.

    Ride of Steel at Darien Lake. The quick ejector hills as the end before it slams full speed into the station. After two way to big helix’s and the best hill on ride you switch directions and some bouncing into the break run at full speed.

    Awesome list! I agree with all of these that I've ridden. Especially your number one. That is also my favorite finale hands down (up?) and every time I ride in the magic seat (almost every time I ride lol) I am completely stunned by the strongest pop of the ride which is placed right as you are flung out of your seat. My face is always priceless on those pics lol

    READS TITLE
    *Wicked cyclone walks out*
    (It starts raining)
    *Wicked cyclone, Hold up, let me tear your legs off* (some how the 3rd lap becomes the best part of the ride)
    (Once you have a rain ride or even better an alarm ride when the train is running so fast it passes all the normal breaks, the sensor and on to the emergency brake (this shuts the ride down which kind of sucks) you will be disipointed anytime you ride it when it isn't raining. It is so crazy that the ride can finish over 7 to 8 seconds faster when it is raining, and hit the brakes going over two and a half times the speed it normally goes)

    100% agree on Magnum. I had a ride on it last week that was absolutely insane. I've never felt like I was going to fly out of the train more. For some reason, it felt like -- or perhaps was -- running faster than it ever has, too.

    My favorite finales (in no particular order because for once I can't seem to make a list):
    Goliath (SFOG) - The other hypers (Mako & Intimidator) I've ridden are almost just as good of rides, but one thing that makes me like Goliath better is that it ends with a bang. After that awesome helix and a large banked turn, you fly into a series of borderline ejector airtime hills to end the ride. It's amazing!
    Lightning Rod - The quad down, of course! 4 moments of the most insane airtime I've ever experienced, and don't forget that turnaround where you catch a bunch of wind in the front. Even the dip into the brakes gives some airtime!
    Fury 325 - After mostly speed and intensity, Fury switches to 3 great airtime hills to finish the ride, great choice B&M!
    Nighthawk - This ride is so much wacky fun and the finale is something very unique, as you go through a double corkscrew in the flying position. There's nothing else like it. Plus it's really nice to look at.
    Hagrid's - After the awesome drop track, the ride ends with its fastest launch, from 0-50 mph in 4 seconds, then into a couple of curves to end with. Great way to end a great ride!
    White Lightning - It's hard to tell when the finale begins, but it's constant little airtime hills and a couple of little twists before hitting the breaks. This ride never loses steam!
    Dahlonega Mine Train - Similar to Runaway Mine Train, this ride is pretty mild (but fun) until you drop into a tunnel for the finale. I love the anticipation as you see the drop climbing the final lift, and the slow turn into the shed as the ride gradually picks up speed. If you're in the front, you get a nice pop of air into the brakes.
    Carolina Goldrusher - Similar to Gold Rusher, this ride ends with a long helix that constantly increases in speed until you hit an airtime (I assume, I've only ridden it in the back) hill and then the brakes.
    Mystery Mine - A 90 degree drop, zero-g roll, then a stall dive loop. Need I say any more?
    Copperhead Strike - This ride starts its ending with the most underrated part of the ride - the helix turns, which are actually pretty intense. Then it gives one final ejector hill before popping into the brakes. What a great ride!
    Batman the Ride - Out of all the corkscrew finales I've experienced, this is probably my favorite. The ride tries to rip your feet off, then gives you a momentary break around a curve before the final corkscrew and turns into the brakes leaving you wondering what you just experienced!
    Revenge of the Mummy - I like the whole "fake ending" thing, as after that plays out, you see (and FEEL) fire from the ceiling, then you drop into an unexpectedly steep drop, then a couple of turns before the brakes.
    Journey to Atlantis - I thought the ride ended after the big drop (or would end with another dark section and maybe another little drop) but no, you climb up once again and drop into darkness in a weird s-curve drop on steel coaster track before ending with another splashdown. This was totally unexpected when I first rode it!
    Galaxy Spin - It ends spinning.
    FireChaser Express - After the show segment, you launch backwards into several airtime hills before the ride ends. This ride is nonstop family fun and I enjoy every second of it!
    Tennessee Tornado - Don't know if this counts as a finale since it's literally half the ride but you go into a second vertical loop then a sidewinder (these 2 inversions are nicknamed the "Iron Butterfly") before popping into the brakes. That final "pop" is pretty crazy in the front, and the loops are fun and intense.
    Freedom Flyer - This ride is mostly pretty mild, but the final helix speeds you up and pulls 2.5 G's on a family coaster, not to mention your feet feel like they're about to get chopped off by the fence!
    Blazing Fury - Sure, this ride hasn't aged well and is mostly a dark ride, but the finale is where the coaster part comes in. You have 2 back-to-back drops. In the front, you get shoved over the hill into the 2nd drop so you get a bit of airtime, while in the back, you get pulled down the hills getting more speed.

    Full Throttle is one of those coasters with such great potential. If they had even just another two or three elements after the big airtime hill on the loop, it would be a big improvement. Also, having been a former resident of Eastern North Carolina, I always thought of Busch Gardens Williamsburg as one of my home park when I was there, and I still really miss Big Bad Wolf. Verbolten is a fun ride, and a decent replacement, but I still loved the whole experience of Big Bad Wolf.

    Mystery Mine's finale at night is absolutely insane. The fire kills your night vision so you dive into pure darkness and you can't really see anything till you are upside down in the dive loop not to mention when its a cool fall night and the temp change from warm to cold makes it even better.
