  • Wiring in a Phone Charger for a Motorcycle [EP.02]
In this video I show you how I managed to add a phone charger/mount onto my MT-07 FZ-07
Unfortunately the phone mount I used in this video is not available on Amazon U.S.A, a similar setup can be achieved by using USB output plug and a RAM mount or you can purchase the same one I have on Ali express. ↓Links Below↓
    My Setup:
    Motorcycle X-Grip Charger: goo.gl/qLM1fj
    Similar Setup:
    RAM Mount: amzn.to/2IzToCV
    12V USB Port Charger: amzn.to/2IAfsNI
    Mounting Part For MT-07: amzn.to/2NlhogI
    Tools Needed:
    Quick Splice Wire Connectors: amzn.to/2IADDvk
    Wire Terminal Crimper: amzn.to/2tEazyw

Nice video bro ! Just a question, wouldn't be easier to connect it to the front headlight since the charger is at the front anw ? Also, does it matter if the negative of the charger is connected to the negative of the headlight (if I decide to connect it to the headlight)

I do not understand why these bike manufacturers do not install a couple of USB connectors/chargers on the handlebars and under the seat. Would not cost them more than a few bucks at the most and would be a great selling point.

Possibly the liability of encouraging "distracted driving". Sounds silly, but a woman sued MCD's 1mil for coffee being too hot, so you never know what kind of frivolous lawsuit the judges pass through. It is silly though considering Tesla already killed 18 people with their driverless car and not a single lawsuit against them has been filed, but I guess if you don't have political connections you don't get that kind of immunity.

@@DaveSmith-cp5kj coffee isn't supposed to hospitalize you if you drink it. It was above 210* when served. Literally almost boiling. That goes against health code violations set in place by the government 🤣 before you mention a topic maybe be informed on said topic.

Why not connect to the side/ pily lamp in the headlight as its very close to yor phone mount or to the yamaha provided accessory socket tuckes beneath the left tank cover?

Quality content, good sense of humor. Keep the videos coming. Need more dual vlogs and flogs.
Although I'm not sure your license plate tag light has enough power available to power your device adequately. If you plan to run anything else in the future, I recommend getting a power block installed. It's basically a unit with heavy cables that run to the battery (with large main fuse), and you can run accessories to the block with as many as 6-8 separate circuits with plenty of power supplied by the block itself. You can get power blocks that have electronic breakers and others have physical fuses. Easily gives you the option of having always-on power, or switched-power, without drawing amperage from some other proprietary circuit on the bike designed for other things. Also gives you the ability to add circuits later for stuff like heated grips, heated vest, heated seat, GPS, aux lights, whatever.

I've had this setup for quite a while now. You are halfway right how it sometimes gets annoying, if I want to take out my key I have to take my glove off. But what is even more annoying is not having a map in font of you, especially when I'm using comm system and it cuts off my phone when listening to directions, its really nice having your directions in front of you at all times :)

I just tried this, when I mocked up the wires it seemed fine. I then connected the. Together with a wago connector and it blew the fuse. Cant seem to get it to stop blowing fuses. Any ideas?

One question, instead of connecting the red/ positive to the plate light, couldn't we connect it to the ignition switch/key socket/wire. Is that possible?? If yes, then do we need to add a relay n a fuse if something goes wrong. Also, did u connect the positive to the plate light just to avoid adding the relay and a fuse so if something sorts, the plate light will go off rather than damaging other parts?? Also is a relay necessary for this purpose???
