Man, that Darth Vader is slick! It's videos like this that leave me bewildered as to how people can claim Retroblasting only produces "negative" content.
I'm glad you made this point in your comment above because there has been so much negativity thrown Michael's way over the years regarding his "negativity," but I never take it as negative at all. Number one, as a grown adult, I don't fail to recognize or utilize my ability to simply keep scrolling, disengage or not engage at all when I see content I don't like or agree with. Number two, in my humble opinion, I see Michael as a lifelong customer of toys, history and film-based memorabilia so he obviously doesn't represent a company in any way, BUT he rather holds theses billion-dollar companies ACCOUNTABLE when they put out high-priced product that oftentimes has lower quality than expected, for the price, is flawed or has defects. He has also been vocal about his dislike for the crowd-funded model being used by said companies. I agree 100% and always felt this way since crowd-funding became a thing and Haslab, Matty and other specialty sites were released. These toy"makers" are extremely wealthy and can more than afford to make these toys without taking our money 1 to 2 years in advance, earning the interest on that money and sending customers whatever it is they came up with without customers even being able to actually see, in hand, the product like we used to in the old days. If there is anything negative to be said, let it be that these companies take note of what is being said and actually make some good, positive changes to the way they're currently doing things so as to give no room for negative feedback. Stan Solo is obviously doing something right and he is an individual producer. There's not much negativity there because he's putting out good product that customers actually want or wanted decades ago. He's a customer himself so I'm sure that's what drives him to make good, quality, Kenner-style products that fit right in with the original line.
I cannot afford to buy these at the moment(life gets in the way) but 5 year old me is still inside saying why did we not get these in 1983. absolutely spot on just what displays need.
I wish he would sell just the cards, since I saved all my cardbacks from my vintage collecting days and cherish them almost as much as the figures that came on them.
Won't somebody PLEASE think of the real fans seated around the boardroom table at Hasbro? But, seriously, these figures look amazing! I can't believe how far Stan has come!
I bought that Dagobah Training Luke the SECOND I saw Stan Solo announce it. As a Kenner kid, there was no unmade figure I wanted more than this one. My Kenner Dagobah Action Playset FINALLY looks exactly how I wanted to look since 1981. Thanks for another great review.
LOVED this video. That piece at the end where you discussed Stan Solo’s place in the hobby was epic. It’s an amazing talent to be able speak so eloquently about a topic, uninterrupted for so long and remain engaging. Well done man!
Gotta say, that Darth is the one we should've had since Kenner released the Jedi figures in the 80s. His sculpt, tight light sabre grip and OG Kenner look & feel just work! The fact that Stan included the original actor's face is the cherry on top for me though since I hated the "edits" Lucasfilm made to replace his image with that of young Anakin. The fact we never got that version of DV, was a huge missed opportunity for Kenner, among others, to allow us kids at the time to really re-live and re-imagine that final film (or so we thought) in one of its most pivotal scenes. I mean, c'mon Kenner, you already had Lando's and Leia's Jedi figures with removeable helmets, why not THE MAIN baddie of the franchise and possibly one of the most recognizable villain in the history of film? Being a 3.75" o-ring guy, I pretty much stopped buying/asking for SW toys after the GI Joe ARAH line released, BUT that never took my appreciation for those old Kenner nuggets from me. I've been contemplating getting back into the Star Wars game for some years now. Thanks to you, Michael, Stan Solo is on my radar and I'm looking forward to purchasing these newest SS figures. His Bantha is spot-on and looks great, his Boba is more accurate to the films and his toys overall just blend right in with the OG line. Bravo, Stan Solo and Bravo Michael for another dope RetroBlasting video!
Videos about Stan Solo and other high caliber customs are an immediate click for me. To be honest customs have come a long way from what I was seeing 20+ years ago.
I just received Stan Solo's Tonnika Sisters. They are awesome. He has so many selections and Stan Solo goes to the trouble of putting so much finances and time into these sculpts. The mainstream multi-billion dollar toy corporations can't put out this quality of craftsmanship.
Its always interesting to see Stan Solo work Im lucky to have 2 figures in my collection and his work is great you got that 70-80’s vibe when you check the way they are packaged. Would love to get more of his work
I don't think the problem is SS sculpting and selling figures like these. The problem is dishonest sellers on the second hand market hawking the accessories like the Han Solo Stormtrooper blaster as legit OG Kenner ones, making it difficult for people who only want non-repro stuff in their collections.
The figures are clearly marked, and Stan Solo tried working with the Star Wars zealots back when he first started making accessories. They stabbed him the back and one of their own number sold his accessories as original.
@@machineman6498 He tried to work with Imperial Gunnery back in 2017. Instead, a member of TIG sold reproductions as original and Chris Smith got blamed for it.
Can he do playsets? Would be great to get a detailed homestead with dining area, kitchen with blue milk dispenser and Luke's room for cleaning up droids with oil bath etc. I always tried to recreate this as a kid with shoeboxes and other accessories from Playmobil.
I have all these figures you've reviewed, apart from Dagobah Luke, but I plan to get him when I pick up the Tonnika sisters. Couldn't agree more with you Michael, he does the best work and in no way can new bespoke figures be considered repro in any way, they are all welcome additions to my vintage Kenner line.
I'm glad Hasbro haven't stepped in to slap a massive lawsuit on Stan Solo, but it's quite mystifying why they haven't. Can anyone enlighten me? Is it a loophole?
As a kid I always wanted the Han Solo in storm trooper disguise, I always wondered why Kenner didn't make one. By the time Luke in storm trooper disguise was out, I was already moving out of star wars and into GI Joe but I remember buying the Luke in Storm Trooper Disguise instead of a GI Joe figure because I loved that he was in Storm Trooper disguise and wondered if they would do a Han Solo storm trooper disguise and they never did. I am glad Stan Solo finally did.
I don’t usually collect repros, mainly because I unfortunately no longer have my original Kenner Star Wars collection anymore, but these are beyond awesome. Definitely something that six or seven year old me would’ve loved seeing.
Looking at that Droid and Astromech line up, I hope we get some more re-issues. Would love a white 3Po (whatever he's actually called). Great collection turns out GREAT INVESTMENT to boot!
I'll be honest, I was skeptical about the whole Kenner inspired thing, but these really are some of the best figures on the market, at this point. If Disney and Hasbro aren't willing to give us figures of this quality, I'm glad somebody is!
That R3M3 is pretty rad. I had Kenner figures as a kid but they lost my interest as I discovered MOTU & GIJoe. But I really enjoy these episodes Michael does. -Dustin
Thank you for introducing me to the Stan Solo figures. I've managed to track down most of the out of production ones on the secondary market, and have bought all the new ones as they come out! This was a great video, and the figures look fantastic. Stan Solo will go down as one of the best thing to happen to both Star Wars Collectors, and the collecting space, as a whole
I was born in the mid 90’s so I can only look back at figures at the time. A lot of the Kenner figure I think look really great. Except for Darth vader. I think his cape is all wonky and the telescoping lightsaber looks really bad. Nice to see an alternate take on Vader in Kenner fashion tho.

His figures are amazing, but a little pricey for me. I've only managed to get a handful over the years, which are a mix of one I never owned but always wanted (Yak Face and Amanaman) and new sculptors (movie accurate Boba Fett) and even the movie accurate Lando General which covers both.
Completely off topic from this video but i was thinking how cool it would be if you and sal did another archeology Livestream talking about the new season of ancient apocalypse.
I picked up those 3 droids a couple of months ago. They cost me a pretty penny ($60 Canadian each, plus 3rd legs), but the quality is definitely there! When you were talking about how much people are selling his stuff for on eBay and such, it reminded me what I've been thinking for a while; he should reissue his old droids and totally undercut the scalpers! He made a Boba Fett themed astromech (B0-B4) that I would snatch up in a second!! I just wish he made a 3rd leg for the red domed one. I accidentally bought 2 white ones without realizing that it only fits the green striped one. But I sent back the extra and got a refund.

I own several carded figures, and I can't bring myself to open any of them.
YES!
I wish he would sell just the cards, since I saved all my cardbacks from my vintage collecting days and cherish them almost as much as the figures that came on them.
Stan Solo is a pioneer for us fans that grew up with the originals, a gift to us all!
What I love about seeing these figures, is it takes me to a time when there were only 3 movies. When Star Wars was pure.
My wife got me the Stan Solo Yak Face, and pop up R2. Both are fantastic figures.
The great quality continues Stan solo is ahead of the game
Once again, Michael and RetroBlasting knock it out of the park with another fantastic video. This channel makes collecting all the more fun!
Won't somebody PLEASE think of the real fans seated around the boardroom table at Hasbro? But, seriously, these figures look amazing! I can't believe how far Stan has come!
Stan Solo does such amazing work; if I was an OG Star Wars figure collector, I’d be elbows deep in all this stuff!
His figures look amazing thanks for putting these on people's radars

I always love seeing these videos for the sheer passion on display. From both Stan and Michael!
Stan Solo is doing the (SIth) Lord's work, and these new figures look fantastic. Thanks for sharing this, Michael! 👍🏼
Although I'm from Mexico and unable to get these, the little kid in me is smiling in awe and happiness. This is so beautiful.
That Stan Solo Darth Vader is a great figure. Looks exactly like if Kenner would have made it back in the 80's. 😊

I always wondered why Lando's Saarlac Pit costume helmet came off and Vaders didn't in Kenners ROTJ line
It’s like a mini Christmas when a Stan solo delivery comes to the house! ❤
Thank the maker for Stan Solo!
Awesome! Stan Solo does some amazing work and I hope to add more of his items in future to my collection!

The tonicas are cool aren’t they?! ❤
Love Stan Solo's stuff, glad I was on board right away thanks to you and Analog toys introducing the line to me.
Stan Solo, Retroblasting, and the fans that aren't anti-repro snobs have got my support, and I'm unapologetic about it.
I don't need them,but I want them so bad.lol
What I would like to see is some one try their hand at the never released mini rig addon for the vintage Kenner Millennium Falcon.

What i like about Stan Solo is the plastic used isnt gummy. It feels top notch. A lot of the recent hasbro "Retro" offerings are very soft and gummy
Stan Solo does make some great figures, however the way he conducts himself on social media leaves a lot to be desired

All great figures, but that R4-M9 is absolutely beautiful! Congratulations once again SS.
Stan Solo stuff is easily the best out there. Whilst there are other very talented people doing great work, I just haven't been drawn to the 3D printed offerings. Chris once ran a post that asked what our most desired top 3 would be. I chose:
Darth Vader with removable helmet and handheld lightsabre
Luke Dagobah training
Bespin Escape Leia

Seeing the gaps in our collections filled with Stan Solo figures always brings a smile to my face.
still hoping for a movie accurate Death Star Jedi Luke.
@impossiblepie Hopefully, it's a 2-for, and we get a poncho and removable endor helmet with the final dual underneath.

Come on Stan Solo and do some of the unreleased 90s Kenner Aliens/ Predator figures ❤

Yes!!!👏🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
He’s got some nice stuff, on the pricey side though. Waiting on Hasbro’s PotF retro line.
Been watching you for 8 years, love the content!
