  • Another car feature from the archives, this one is Nigel Petrie's 180SX drift car back in 2011 in Motive DVD #012. NIgel is well known for his Engineered to Slide blog, building a crazy tube-frame Hilux drift car, a NA S13 Silvia, a bunch of motorbikes and this 180SX. This build was back in the early days for him and a great look back at where he started.

    I do miss those days of drifting...
    All credit to those able to drift the monster 1000+hp machines of today, but there is a special place for those able to do the same with a 3rd of the power and make it look smooth and easy...

      They do all have a place aye and we need them all. Low and slow is so good but the engineering into those big dog cars is just another type of crazy

    Im playing a old game Forza 4, with the wheel alignemt, I know camber for fron wheel you would want negative (tyres leaning in war). But as for toe, you would want Toe in? Or Tow out? My mehcnaic workmates have mixed me up and said Toe out will help reel the inner wheel and straighten the outer wheel, but this gentlemens car looks like hes running Toe in on the front....Im confused.

    • @rm6330
      @rm6330 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Slight toe out on the front and as much camber that you can get and then zero toe and camber on the rear.

    • @mydogzty
      @mydogzty 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rm6330 why wouldn't you run some camber on the rear to compensate with the weight on the outer wheels? or its just to help with drifiting/sliding the rear end out? much appreicate the reply.
