Thank you for a great demo on how these two like items compare!!! Best review I have found yet!!! I like how you made a line with the turbo nozzle then went over it with the surface cleaner so your viewers can see the difference w the surface cleaner on the 1600.
I just bought the 2300 version to do some pressure washing mainly for my driveway. I also bought the surface cleaner which was absolutely garbage. That thing kept leaving streaks all over the place even though I was doing slow passes each time. I ended up using the turbo nozzle which did an excellent job. I don't think the turbo nozzle took any extra time simply because I would have had to make a ridiculous amount of passes with the surface cleaner to get the same results as I did with the turbo nozzle. I was very happy to return the surface cleaner.
I just bought the 1600 with the surface cleaner and this video was exactly what I needed to have an idea of it would've been enough for me! (Can't beat getting the 1600 for $68 on pre-black Friday sale)
I so wish I had thought about getting a pressure washer at that time!! I don't have to have one yet, maybe I'll be able to take advantage of another sale! Congrats on hitting it right!! 👍
Outstanding comparison! I have a 1600 and wondered whether or not I should have bought a more powerful version. Very happy now with the 1600. Already have the surface cleaner, a great accessory, and now need a third-party 50' long, 3/8" diameter hose (more flexible!) and some quick connectors. Many thanks, you saved me a bunch of money! :-)
Yeah, I tried a couple other 2300s from other brands with about the same results, one was even weaker than the 1600 Ryobi laughably. The 2700 & now 3000psi Greenworks electric pressure washers on the other hand are noticeably more powerful.
U don't have to make all those passes if u move slower and give the pressure washer time to clean the dirt. U get streaks by going bak and forward over the sections like that.
I have a 1700 psi green works with the surface cleaner. I was hesitant to do driveways because i didnt think it was enough power. I believe it is now. Thanks.
If you want real power use gas 4000 psi. But for wood or a car, 1600 is more than enough power. Unless you want to strip paint and turn your patio into tooth picks.
I prefer to use my SJ SPX 3200 with 2030PSI with the GW Surface Cleaner. I bought the Ryobi Surface Cleaner from HD but due to the reviews I returned it without trying it. The Greenworks Surface Cleaner is 11”’s so I don’t think it’s a big difference between the two however the GW usually cleans on the first or second pass at the most.
I got the 1600 and it did well but didn’t remove some old wax stains or acrylic paint stains from my kids painting on the porch. Not sure if I should upgrade or just try chemicals.
With great anticipation I watched your whole demonstration video to see which ryobi pressure washer you recommended. Then at the end you just said "You be the Judge". I just started laughing because I thought like a "looney tune cartoon".....that's all folks! Thanks for the laugh and a great video but I am still confused😂
I know I am late in viewing this, but I just wanted to say I am thankful for coming upon it. I am in the market for a pressure washer, and I have been contemplating the surface cleaner (SC) attachment. Your video has helped confirm things for me. I know some have thought that the SC was great to start with because they felt it was so much quicker - but then discovered dirt would clog it up quickly and it would need frequent cleaning to open it back up for use. I personally am not impressed with how many times you still have to go over the same spot with the SC (with both the 1600 and the 2300), and I'm not loving the large amount of water puddling. Thanks for posting your video - it's appreciated! 👍
you moving to fast and plus the ryobi surface cleaner fills up with water under it therefore making water layer that the jets have to break through before hitting the actual surface that your cleaning other than with the turbo nozzle it pushes the water away making it easier to connect with the surface that you are clean that why it look like the bigger one took longer becuz it create more water for the jets to break through than the smaller
@@Gfysimpletons I haven't done any measured experiments, but just visually it looks like the double nozzle surface cleaner uses a lot more water regardless whether it's on the 1600 or 2300. That seems to be a common complaint with the surface cleaner.
This video helped a lot. There’s a clear advantage with the wand on the 2300 (you get what you pay for) but I don’t see that much of an advantage when it comes to the surface cleaner.
Not bad for the money. I did commercial power washing and had two $4500 Landa power washer rigs with 180° water heater for steam cleaning. Plus all the extras and trailers.
Any business tips? I have a 4400 PSI 4GPM pressure washer right now. I rent a UHaul truck to move it around but it's costly. I'm going to buy the 1600 PSI pressure washer for free samples since it's so portable. This will remove the costs of the UHaul truck. I'll schedule paid work for a particular day, filling up the day with paid work. Then renting the UHaul knowing that I'm going to make profit that day.
@@g.donuts3551 Yep noticed that right away because the 1600 comes with a plastic cheap wand. People should also know that the 2300 has an induction motor which is longer lasting not a universal like the 1600 but thanks for your video. Still trying to decide myself.
Do surface cleaner come with different tips? That seems awfully weak. I wonder if they don't have a wider tip for less destrcution for the people who wash decks with them lol maybe if they do bump it down a size. .. I'm actuslly wondering if they do because that may help
I have the 2300 & I like it. Soap dispensing can be annoying. Do you know how to winterize the Ryobi 2300? I put the bottle on the machine but I don’t know if the solution actually went through it? Do I need to turn it on during the winterizing process? Thank you.
@@g.donuts3551 okay, I'm trying to decide which one to get as far as psi goes.im getting this for my husband's Christmas present, so which one do you think I should get to wash our camper/truck,their both only 34 years old....
@@darvasfamilychannel5563 Of these two the 1600 works just as well as the 2300 for a lot less money. Still have the 1600 Ryobi. Returned the 2300. 1600 fine for small jobs or vehicles, but neither was enough to do sidewalks.
Definitely not worth the jump in price if you are adding the surface cleaner. But the difference on their own was kind of shocking. Either way, no way I'm cleaning without the surface cleaner (I'd kill my back and be at it for hhoouurrss). So cheaper one it is! I'm gonna get the 1900psi.
I ultimately kept the little Ryobi, took the 2300 back and then purchased the Greenworks 2700 electric. It is noticeably more powerful, price wise close to cheaper gas models though.
Thank you! This was clear, uncomplicated, direct and very helpful. Just need something to clean our old landscape bricks so we can re-use them.

1600 with the round surface cleaner head works awesome. Used them the other day.
must say you are a legend for this video man. made my decision very easy. thanks
EXACTLY the review comparison I was looking for, thanks!
Even included an accessory I didn't even know I needed (surface cleaner) haha!
The turbo nozzle drops the psi down to 1600 on the 2300 powerwasher.
It happened to me too i wonder why is that PSI drop?
I bought the 1600. So much more compact and quite. Can not be beat for 100 dollars. You be the judge.
Might as well use the kitchen sink sprayer. And that only costs 8 bucks.
I’M THE JUDGE!
If you want real power use gas 4000 psi. But for wood or a car, 1600 is more than enough power. Unless you want to strip paint and turn your patio into tooth picks.

Check out my other video of the Greenworks Pro 2700. Indirect comparison, but it is noticeably more powerful than either of these two.
@@g.donuts3551 Thanks, yes I saw that. I simply don't have the need for that much of a unit, but thanks for mentioning it!
with the green hose, it does not lower the pressure when using the carpet

Looks like an extra pass or two from the 1600 would catch up. It’s like a relaxing occupational massage so a few extra minutes is ok by me
And waste more water!

What kind of hose are you using? That's not the one that came with the unit is it?
Jay G just a longer 35’ hose I purchased separately, Ryobi I think.

you just saved me some money..also noise difference is huge 👍👍😃
Does the smaller Ryobi use M22 15mm or 14mm connection?

Can i use the one with the end in doors on stone type floors? My stone tiles are dirty but i have no idea what to use to clean them.
FYI: I use my very old 'Floor Mate' on rough floor tile, and I've had good results.
Awesome review, ty
thanks for the video. definitely gotta go the 1600, pretty much the same for a fraction of the cost! and smaller too
Just bought 1600 on sale for $68 didnt expect much but your video is good. where did younget that big wand from? the one that comes with it is tiny.
That would have been the wand that came with the 2300, wanted to keep the attachments the same for an even comparison.

What about changing tips.. Lower Gpm tip
The turbo nozzle is more productive than the surface cleaner by alot I think and does a nicer job
For small areas sure, but for 200ft of sidewalk not so much.

Bring it inside your home.
Is it safe to wash vegetables with that?
I meant vehicles?😬
Lower psi ones like these I guess so, but they can be too harsh depending on paint age/condition.

The most time consuming review, but it is appreciated.
I didn't need to see it in real time, so I changed the view setting to twice the speed! 🤣🤣

Going too fast with the surface cleaner.
Are you using chemicals
No.
Not a big difference
That electric junk will burn out fast.
Gas is the only way to go.
He went back and forth with the surface cleaner.
It's better to go left to right, or right to left slowly.
Works a LOT better that way😊
