PS I'm not saying that being a woman living alone isn't capable of doing anything I forgot to add that I've been recovering from a first paralysed right leg for four years and then severely broke my tibia/ fibula and shattered my ankle then two years later, did the same damage to my left arm so I it's so just awesome being able to do something like getting Google Chrome working even enabling voice activation etc. #GirlBoss

Hi, I currently have Xfinity TV and I was wondering if the Google TV could possibly be a replacement for my Xfinity?
Can I connect to wifi solely with the remote and the chromecast. For e.g when I am in a hotel can I just use the chromecast itself to connect to a hotels wifi network or do you always have to use the google home app on your phone. Thanks

Why would people give this a thumbs down? It's an instructional video 🤦🏾♂️
I gave it a thumbs down because it literally doesn't work. That's the whole point in an instructional video is so the you can get it going. Considering there are like 3.5% dislikes it shows the device is very buggy. Previous chromecasts would install without going to a TH-cam video. But people go to a TH-cam video because something is up like it will not connect properly and they want to learn how to get it to work without having to take it back.

@@MajestyWilliams Yeh I got a feeling I just got a bung unit. I'm getting it ready to take back. It seems to have a fault WiFi on it as I tested 4 different WiFi connections. Just hope the shop has no issue.

I got this as a gift and I really love it, it made my brand new Samsung TV run faster and less glitchy. The only downside is the wire, it makes it impossible to use a Samsung Frame tv!
After viewing so easy setup Ive ordered it for my living room tv..
This is actually a little amazing tool! Using my Chromecast with Google TV on my monitor.
With the old chromecast plugging it via power cable was optional. On this one does it have to be plugged in and how long is that cable? Can I buy a longer one if I need it?

@@madebygoogle More than just recommended. My old one I had plugged into the tv, this one requires you to have it plugged into a power source. Though my new one I got still doesn't work after over an hour of trying to get it to work. It's not good when there's like heaps of WiFi connections around and for some reason my WiFi connection would never show for the few times it would connect. My WiFi connection shows of every other device. I sent in an auto generated trouble shooting thing to Google.

I wish you would make a Chromecast without the need of a Power Adapter, like a powered USB type so I could just plug it in and no cables in sight, clean setup
The regular Chromecast can be powered from your televisions USB port. It's how I have mine. I'm a little worried about the direction Google are taking the Chromecast. It was a great product, you just plugged it in and it worked. I recently had to reset mine and setting it up again was a much more long winded process then it used to be. This new one seems like a step backwards. Why in 2020 is the device drawing more power than the earlier models? Why does it require apps to be installed? I often cast TH-cam videos, the TH-cam app is transferred and opened on the Chromecast within a couple of seconds. I bet this new one takes longer with all the bloat they have installed now.

cool! does it work with Samsung Smartthings?
I got one and didn't realize it can't connect through wifi login page or captive portal (i.e hotels, camping grounds etc).i thought this would be a great tool when i go camping. The work around was to use my windows laptop and create a hotspot through it. If Google would allow this to work as all that is needed is cursor and keyboard use. The actual wifi page does appear, it just doesn't allow me to fill and check the appropriate boxes.

Just got one today but the instructions in this video don't exactly match the Chromecast with Google TV. It's asking me to login to Google from my television with my remote. What if I don't want to have my email account on this Chromecast? Can I just use it without a login like my Chromecast Ultra or do I need to return it and purchase a Firestick instead?

Hi, Dan! Once you setup the voice remote's power, volume, and input buttons with your devices, it should be able to work via infrared (IR) for many devices. You can also choose which devices each button controls.
Is this chromecast 4k or will they make a ultra version?
After setup is completed, do we still NEED to use the remote? Or can we cast video from apps as we did with previous chromecasts?
It's a smart TV device. You use the remote to select apps from its interface. You can also cast from your phone if you choose.

Ethernet. I have a previous dongle that has an Ethernet port in the electrical plug. The version of mimi USB doesn't match the new dongle. With that USB adapter, would that older plug work and provide Ethernet rather than, WiFi connectivity? Why use Wifi for something stationary?

It shows a Google Pixel 3 XL at 1:36 but then it switches to the Google pixel 4 at 1:39 because the pixel 3 XL has a giant notch and the pixel 4 has giant bezels
My TV doesn’t output Dolby Atmos. I am planning to connect Chromecast directly to my Sony HT-ST5000 soundbar thru HDMI port to get Dolby Atmos. Can I setup the chromecast when plugged in to my soundbar or should I setup first using my TV and then move it to my soundbar? I should still be able to power off the TV and control the TV volume using the chromecast remote even though it’s plugged in my soundbar. Many thanks for your advise.

I just got mine 2 days ago. Honestly not happy with it. First of all, it doesn't setup completely because when i connect my Gmail with Chromecast it shows that error linking it, i tried many times with different devices. Still not working. So i done it manually and now the other issue is voice delay on netflix and any other media i play on my tv. It starts good but with time the voice delay keep getting worst. Like 3-5 seconds delay. (My wifi is pretty good so not internet problem) . Hope you solve this problems. I am returning mine .

Would this work with my phone hotspot ?
Its already paired and everything, but can someone help me what to do if i lost the remote?
Everytime I try it says connection failed or connecting and then connection failed. Other older chromecasts I used always worked and my WiFi works on all other devices. I also don't like how the default choice is my neighbour's WiFi where I have to type in my WiFi connection case sensitive. I'm nearly ready to take it back.

You can use one of those USB C hubs with USB and Ethernet.
Yea its on the store just costs 20$ but its not inside the box (really sad in my country the chrome cast with the adapter costs together 100$ WTF)

@@googlenest no that's actually a lie. I've been trying to cast the sound to my speaker group for the last two hours only to find out that it's not possible. You can cast music but not the audio from movies. This is the only reason I bought this and now I got to return it.

Hey Raoul, Thanks for reaching out. There will be a primary Google TV Account and other accounts, you can add more account if you wishes to. Also, Gmail account is recommended over G Suite.

I'm not sure what you mean by the second question, but why would you want to use two at the same time? Do you mean in different TVs?

Since I'm not sure if my AT&T Watch TV app will be available yet on this new Chromecast, I wanted to make sure I keep it since that app runs well on my earlier Chromecast. On the second question, I plug my older Chromecast via HDMI to my sound receiver and not directly to the TV.

So there is no physical rocker switch to lower or increase the audio. We are so used to Amazon fire stick HD remote, which comes with a button that shows plus or minus to increase or lower audio coming from the speaker. Maybe I will wait until the next version of Chromecast with Google TV comes around.
