Erin, my 4 year old twin girls love to watch you. You really inspire them. They love gardening in our backyard during Spring thru early Fall. Thank you
That was the best demonstration I’ve seen out of all the farming videos that I watch that showed the precision planting flagging. Yours was top notch ……
Thanks for the illustration of utilizing the sample kit. It is important to flag and following them during the season in order to give yourself some important results. I use a similiar method during tree planting. 🍁👍🙏😎
I remember in Devine Texas I would work irrigating peanut and watermelon and green beans I was five .lol fun times. And fish and hunt I miss them times.
When I grew maize ( corn) used to do lots of counting plants when it was emerging, our main issue was ducks,if they discovered the young new plants, knowing there was a seed on the bottom of it.The joy of farming.Love your video's
Glad you’re back - I missed your updates. However, I realize the crops are in the ground and it was time for you and your family to take off a few days. Hope y’all had a nice rest.
Thank you Erin. I'd love to see you calculate for everyone here. What the population figures out to per acre on day one emergence, Day 2 emergence, etc.. 👍
Here in Ga. we plant a little earlier than you folks do and for the most part corn looks ok. Somehow I think today's varieties aren't as resilient as some of the past ones. Genetics have changed so much in the last several years. Peanuts are doing good and early beans and cotton are a little skippy due to cooler than normal temps. Hope y'all don't have to replant anything. Thanks for the update. Always good to see and hear from you...
For the technical folks, 1 A = 43,560 sq ft. For 1/1,000 A, 43,560/1000 = 43.56 sq ft row spacing, 30 in = 2.5 ft. 43.56 sq ft/2.5 ft = 17.424 ft. 0.424 ft * 12 in/ft = 5.1 in. Technically, the row length is 17' 5" ft for the 1/1,000 A.
That was very interesting can you tell us what the soil temperature is and what are the daily average min and max temperatures. we all appreciate the effort you put into your filming and look forward to the next episode
Los mejores deseos para ustedes siempre, desearles que puedan disfrutar de todo aquí en Perú, reciban todo el cariño y afecto de todos por aquí, felicidades por sus vídeos, los Saludos más cordiales desde puente piedra, lima, Perú...
Hey you, Good to see you back...I am interested in how this data plugs into the corn is treated. Sure looks like they got a good start. Here corn has been growing for 3 or 4 weeks and has a good 6 to 8". Be interesting to watch if there is a difference. As always take care and be well.. ✌
Looks good the me, in fact it looks fantastic. The greater number were up in 24 hours after planting? I never would of expected them to be up that fast.
Erin, I think you may be able to correlate the large seedless gap with the skip and doubles data the the monitor/ planter recorded for that field. You can look at individual row performance. Maybe a "Precision" geek can help you. Sorry I don't know you well enough, you may have that info at your finger tips. It's pretty cool to dive into the data to confirm what your field is saying. And thanks for doing all of the flagging in one video. Binge flagging!
we sometimes had issues with the boxes bouncing and the plates dropping off the seeds, making gap's in the spacing and double up seeds, vacuum pressure being a bit low can give you the same problem, the gasket on the planter disk cover might have worn edges around the corners if it wasn't having this problems last year as that do wear out. hope that this helps 👍
You are my favorite Boiler Maker! As a Hawkeye that is difficult to say. I hope you get your allergies under control. I understand how hard it can be. I hope your 1000th of an acre portends success on the entire farm. One personal note you have the most wonderful hair! Have a great summer.
I Thank you for your channel you explain to me 👍 things about farming ✅ I would never knew.I love you and your racoons 🔥 I always try to watch ⌚ and 👍 up. Have A good day 😊 Ken Machine NC
Erin, hi, I do have a rather important, critical question for you regarding your line work. Its been on mind for quite sometime now and has been really bothering me as I'm totally clueless as to how this works. But can you please answer my question, to the best of your abilities and be as detailed and precise about your response as possible? I'm very curious to know, how its possible, in all this farming we have going on around our planet, but how on earth did farmers get around to developing the seedless watermelon? I mean, I walk into the local supermarket, and there it is, advertised as a "seedless watermelon" and I buy them from time-to-time and have to admit that I'm quite impressed by how we got the seeds out of the watermellon?
Erin, I'm sure you're as busy as a one-armed wallpaper hanger right now, but your TH-cam followers miss you! 😁 Hope you and your family are doing well, and that Darrell Sue is growing like a weed! 😁
Been wandering what the flags were for, very interesting stuff, like learning new things. Thanks for sharing. Hopefully that small gab was just there in that spot you checked and not a foresight for the whole field.
I am curious, do you do this to various part of your fields? That would allow for a statistical analysis of your fields. At the same time it would let you know if your fields drain evenly or how runoff from rain affects crop growth. Basically a flat field might have more runoff than a field with areas around them that are slightly higher to control runoff. This means that both elevation and depth of soil would need to be considered. And for heavy rains, a controlled drainage system would be necessary so that crops aren't drowned. Do you guys do anything like that?
Erin, my 4 year old twin girls love to watch you. You really inspire them. They love gardening in our backyard during Spring thru early Fall. Thank you

Seeing the flags makes for a desire to see a time-lapse video of the corn popping out of the ground.
My favorite farm girl out of the dozen or so I've watched. :) You're all right.

Glad you explained why you are doing this, Thanks. You are outstanding in your field!
“Out-standing” in her field! (Dad joke!)
you can never have enough data for today's modern farm... keep it up 🌱🌱
So glad your back love the good information you put out
Well, I'm fascinated. Looking forward to the next time you visit the flags to check the results. Thanks.
I always enjoy watching your video's. Thank you
Are you doing alright, Erin? Haven't seen a video from you in a while? Hope you are ok, or just busy.

That for The math lesson. Love from Montana
oh thats cool, you can evaluate the seeding of 1000 acres by doing a small patch. I love systems that make huge tasks into small tasks :)
Hello, Erin!:) Have you given the new 'Baby' a name yet? Glad to see the corn growing. Semper Fidelis
That was very interesting can you tell us what the soil temperature is and what are the daily average min and max temperatures. we all appreciate the effort you put into your filming and look forward to the next episode
Intrersting how you control the seed. Thanks for showing!
Fascinating. I look forward to the end results. I'm such a science nerd.

Missed you Holbert.

Think you should do some teaching/lecturing. Great roll model for farming and great at putting things across. Well done. 👍 Stay safe 🏴
I have seen these flags a hundred times and wondered why they were out in the fields....now I know!
Been wandering what the flags were for, very interesting stuff, like learning new things. Thanks for sharing. Hopefully that small gab was just there in that spot you checked and not a foresight for the whole field.

Hope everything is going OK. Miss seeing your beautiful smile. Looking forward to your next video.
Wow, I never knew this was a thing. Helps with any needed adjustments I guess?
Cool video
So, what can you do about this? Reseed? Do you do this in more than one area? What exactly is considered acceptable?
Awesome video 😊👍
Good morning
Any BAS sightings (big ass spider) ??? Maybe THEY ate the corn seeds that are missing.
I was wondering the same ... :D
@@vk2ig LOL !!!
I wonder if corn is the crop to plant right now because there is corn fields all over where I am. They alternate between cotton and other crops.
Have missed your post i look everyday. And how is the baby coon doing?
