Most of us didn't just "stumble" across this video. There are 336 of us who seek out the outdoor adventures on your channel because it's quality stuff. You show us techniques that allow us to get the maximum benefit from our gear.
Plus there are old timers (like me) who can't get out in the woods anymore because of physical limitations. I depend on people like you to film with your camera so that I can at least experience a little bit of the outdoors vicariously through your lens. Thank you, my friend.

I enjoy my Firebox products very much.
My personal orders of operations are:
Coffee, then muffins, then sausage, then eggs, then more coffee.
That uses the fuel most efficiently I believe.
Love the video, have a great day. 👌🤠👍

Thumbs up for sure. Awsome video. I just wished it was longer. Not often do i stumble on to these types of videos and watch them like i did yours. You could have made that video a 30 minute vid and it would have been awsome. But on a scale of 1 to 10 i give your a vid a 9.5. It would have been a 10 at 30 mins. I really enjoyed the vid bro. Im gonna subscribe but you gotta promise to make longer vids cooking and camping. Im sure you watch firebox steve. He is freaking awsome. I love the family thing and the outdoors thing and the camping and hiking thing. He gets it all. But i really enjoyed your vid. Bacon is played out and i dont have top teeth anyways i love my bacon chewy but i love my breakfast sausage even more and i was super stoked to see you cook that. With bomb ass eggs and a super soft moist muffin loaf. Wow!!! Great vid bro. Hope to see some longer ones cause from i saw you for sure know what your doing out there.

You deserve a big like for the Swedish fire torch formation inside the firebox. Those thicker pieces probably burned a lot longer than the twigs most people use. No need to keep feeding the fire every 10 bloody minutes. Fantastic idea. Thank you for the great video.

I ended up buying almost every single thing on the website over the past few months in 4 orders. I've gotten 2 family members the G2 5" stainless steel.
I initially bought the Large cooking firebox pan. Even as just a single camper, I really wanted the larger pan so I could do full one pan meals like Steve does with potatoes, fish, and veggies all in one. Also, the option for baking in the pan with the plate as a lid was a must. I got both a shallow and deep plate. The small pan will not manage well for larger meals or more than one person, probably overflow. It would be perfect for a more lightweight backpacker kit though. The large baking and cooking kit would take up a LOT of backpack space. I wouldnt really be doing more than 2-3 day trips with it, unless I was heading settling in somewhere. I'm sooo freaking happy I went with the large pan, large cutting board, large baking stone with a universal handle, and the baking kit. I also got the gas burner, gell, and liquid.
My pocket bellows, cutting board and all my tongs, seasoning shaker, spatula, coal and baking racks ALL fit into a easy perfect puzzle and right into the sinch sac.
Now heres my main reason for responding. I went for the large Billy pot because my first baking kit bundle came with the small pot. I was absolutely heart broken, because I could only fit the cup, gel and liquid burner into it and not much else. I could NOT fit my coffee kit, my steel baking balls, Trangia gas burner and a couple other things - I can't quite remember. The lid and top pan would NOT fit the small pot with all my accessories and go into its sinch sac.
After getting the large pot, I was pleased literally everything fits into it and the pan bag. This way I have only 2 green sinch sacs and not 3-4 to try strapping or shoving into my backpack. Both green bags with literally everything I have on the site besides the small Billy pot... it all fits into a Walmart grocery bag with enough room for probably a 2 litre bottle to fit. It would pretty much fill most a small day bag.
With the large Billy pot, I was so happy to have the steaming pot for green beans and broccoli while the water is boiling below with potatoes to mash or corn. It comes together smoother. Seeing Steve's video with the 14lb roast chicken absolutely had me. Unfortunately there's no way the small would manage fitting most roasts or loafs. I also got the large lid hole drilled for the thermometer and the therm to fit.
Really for me it was fitting everything into the pot like I saw in his videos. But if you think you'll be doing really simple stuff like rehydrating foods, just boiling water, soups stuff then don't worry about the large and all the baking accessories... but I couldn't be happier thinking long term and having almost every option in a perfectly compact kit.
The lightweight camping chair, small folding table and windscreen just has mee looking like a king at the truck yard and truck stops xD

if you are going to do a bit of baking id get one of those silicone cooking pads instead of the rocks or in use with them as that will distribute the heat all around more vs just from the bottom. i dont have the baking pan to test it but i know how well the even out the heat, just dont let the silicone get over 500deg or have the flames hitting it which wouldnt be an issue inside the zebra pot.
im curious if it will distribute the heat evenly enough to not even have to put coals on top but just cook from the bottom and have it radiate the heat like a convection oven. if it works like i think it would it might save you the weight of the rocks if that is an issue to someone.

Hey Scott, nice video! I'm curious your thoughts between the Emberlit stove and the Firebox? I have the Emberlit and am thinking about a Firebox as they look so handy and multifunctional. Let us know what you think between the two!

    • @ScottOut-n-About
      @ScottOut-n-About  6 ปีที่แล้ว

BWizzle I’m glad you liked the video. I have another one on my channel about the Emberlit Fireant which I think is a great little stove. I don’t have the larger emberlit so I can’t compare to the firebox. What I will say though is the Firebox is a really great stove and some of the best money I’ve spent in along time. I’m sold on the versatility even though it’s a bit heavy. More of a car camping / canoe camping type stove but worth every penny!
