    I used to be pre-tribulation, but I am now inclined to believe that there is only ONE second coming. I have never listened to a Catholic teaching but this is refreshing. I now class myself as a bible-believing lover of Christ as I am so disappointed with Western theology- especially evangelical views about the rapture. Not only has this been a pleasure to listen to, it has also changed my view towards Catholics, which I'm rather pleased about. I will watch more of this man's videos.

      The only one that I cannot fathom if Christ is reigning in the church right now, is why did Christ even go to heaven to leave the church to reign for the 1000 year right now, so Christ using the church was already reigning during the Church Inquisition in which the Catholic Church put to death the hundred of thousands øƒ people for the love of suppressing the truth then conducted false trials and testimony in the name of Jesus Christ? Well that’s a Godly 1000 Millennium Year Reign and its still not over?

I now have 2 estranged adult children and.4 grandchildren who r unbelievers. I.had a traumatic childhood .. blitz and ww2 in England and lost Dad fighting in France.Followed by.traumatic adolescence and marriage. Since.ive.had Psychiatriac help.and given my life to God. My Priest has helped me forgive my ex and others..I believe, in faith, that God will restore my children and they will convert to.Jesus. Yes Satan destroys marriage/families but God restores it in His way and time.

Now you are changing all that for us and making us strong, and helping others to see the Catholic Church with better eyes, rather than as these helpless people who don’t know how to give an answer for what we believe, and therefore looking as if we are the wrong ones.

      If it was. They would not pray to saints angels or even Mary. Only Jesus Saves. Nor are we to call anyone father. Only God is holy. But i agree with this priest. the rapture is true. And the rapture and his 2nd coming are 2 sperate events. We become Christians the moment we believe. Were not born Christian by physical birth. The nano second one comes to Christ Jesus, they are sealed with the holy spirit. This priest is speaking truth. Amen,

    • @c.Ichthys
      @c.Ichthys ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@davidneal9368 you do not understand scripture by saying we are not to call any man father. Do you think Jesus called St. Joseph "abba" (father) or Joseph? Abraham is called our father, and YWHW told Abraham he would be "the father" of many nations!! St. Paul called himself "father". That passage in scripture is referring that we do not place anyone above God, our Father in Heaven. We are to love Him above all else. That God created us, thereby He is our Father, and not those pagan false gods like "father Zeus".
      As for praying to "to dead": well Jesus declared in the Gospels that ALL are alive to Him.
      Mark 12:27
      He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken!"
      Matt 22:32
      I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
      Luke 20:38
      He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.”
      Not only that, at the Transfiiguration of Christ, the "dead" Moses and Elijah were very much alive and conversing with Jesus. Peter and the other 2 Apostles witnessed this! Saw Moses, Elijah and saw them speaking!
      Prayers can go directly to Jesus of course. No one has to ask anyone else for prayers of help.
      However, sin separates us from God. Small or more serious sins, are sin regardless. Sin makes us unrighteous. And any grave sin, mortal sin, can ONLY be forgiven by the sacrament of confession/Reconciliation. Jesus established that and made it quite clear. We do fall at times, sin, and so we are not sinless. Repentance and confession cleanses us. The saints in heaven are more righteous than any of us, for they are spotless, free from all sins and unable now to ever sin again. They are face to face with God in heaven. We on earth aren't there yet.
      God is all powerful, mighty, omnipresent and omnipotent etc. Nevertheless, ask yourself why God gave each of us our own guardian angels? Why God the Father, instead of comforting Jesus directly (Garden of Gestham) sent angels to minister to and comfort Jesus? Same when Jesus was tempted. Angels ministered to Jesus.
      Ask yourself this: God can heal us directly if He chooses, yet why does God send His angels to heal us? (Many examples in Scripture if you don't know, I can provide).
      Why do you think St. John saw the angels and saints carrying our prayers to God?
      So, yes, you are certainly free to reject any help God gifted us with by blessing us with Guardian Angels and Saints to pray for us, and carry our prayers directly to God.
      Rev.5:8
      Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
      Rev 8:3
      Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
      Jesus was at the wedding in Caanan and knew that the wine had run out. (A great embarrassment to the married couple: wine should never run out!). Yet, did Jesus do anything? Who also noticed and interceded for the married couple? Mary. She cared. And prayed to her son Jesus. Jesus said His time had not yet come. Regardless, Mary got the servants and told them to "do whatever He tells you". She didn't demand anything, and left the decision to her son, to assist or not to assist in this. So what did Jesus do? He honored His dear mother's prayer and changed water into the best wine. His first miracle, because of Mary's intercession. The last recorded words of Mary in the Bible are "do whatever He tells you". She is pointing her finger to her Son, and has always been with Him.
      By the way: have you sinned? Sin separates a person from God.
      Scripture tells us God gave the authority to forgive sins “to men; His ordained Bishops and Priests” (Matt. 9:8) and to Christ’s ministers in particular. Jesus told them, “As the Father has sent me, even so I send you. . . . Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained” (John 20:21-23).
      Jesus "breathed" on His Apostles when He conferred this upon His ordained Apostles and their successors. The only other time God breathed upon man was when He created Adam and Eve, and they became living souls. The Sacrament of Confession is life giving.

      The Church is the pillar and bulwark of truth
      Quote:
      In Matthew 23:9, Jesus emphasizes the primary role of Our Heavenly Father. He created us in His image and likeness (cf. Gen. 1:26-28). He made us His children through Baptism in the death and Resurrection of His Son (cf. Rom. 5:12-21; 6:3-4; 8:12-17). Because God created us in His image and likeness, we share in the attributes of God. Insofar as men share in the attributes of the Father, they participate in the one fatherhood of God. End quote
      Mark 7:9-13, Jesus criticizes the Pharisees and scribes for not honoring their "fathers." Furthermore, calling the apostles and their successors "father" was common within the early Christian communities (see these where men are called father: 1 Cor. 4:15; 1 Jn. 2:12; Acts 7:2; 22:1). As in the case of all scriptural interpretations, we must understand this passage in light of the rest of Scripture (cf. 2 Pet. 1:20; 3:16).

    Fr. Chris, we must all thank you for the vivid clarification on the topic Rapture. It’s highly remarkable and is of great value to us Catholics. Why others waste much of their time making their own interpretations. We only have to follow the teachings of Jesus given to His apostles. “ I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.” He’s the light of the world but many choose their own light that leads them to total darkness, the way of Satan. We hold on to our Catholic beliefs and we’re in Jesus company now and forever. God bless us all and praying for our salvation.

It is NOT necessarily a prophecy of the future but a Beatific vision of Heaven, John saw numerous people from all nations who survived the great trials and whose “robes had been washed in the blood of the Lamb”. The Protestant Reformers identified the Papacy as anti-Christ, as the “little horn” power of Daniel 7:8, and as the “man of sin, son of perdition” in 2 Thes 2:3. They preached this for hundreds of years. They did not preach anything about an anti-Christ in Daniel’s 70 weeks prophecy. Anti-Christ means “in place of Christ”. The Papacy claims to be God/Christ here on earth in official public statements. To deal with the Protestant Reformers, the Papacy created the Society of Jesus, the Jesuit order. The Jesuits created a theology that claimed the anti-Christ was yet into some distant future time. The Jesuit priest Francisco Ribera was the first one to separate the 70 week in Daniel’s Messianic prophecy and project it into the future. Ribera also claimed that the “He” in verse 27 was referring to an Anti-Christ and not Messiah. This happened in 1587. This theology evolved and grew over time and infiltrated the Protestant churches. John Nelson Darby, an “Ex” Roman Catholic priest, added the pre-trib rapture and dispensation theology to Futurism. Futurism/dispensationalism/Christian Zionism, all related, deflect attention away from the Papacy, the true Anti-Christ. The Jesuits also created the theology known as Preterism, which claims that the anti-Christ came in the past in Antiochus Epiphanes.
      In summary, there are three views to eschatology. Two of them came from the Roman Catholic Church, and one of them came from the Protestant Reformers. Most Christians do not know the history of pre-trib rapture theology. To learn more about it look up “Historicism vs Futurism” by Pastor Stephen Bohr. There are 12 parts. Nobody is getting raptured out of here prior to the 2nd coming of Messiah. Daniel 9 was a Messianic prophecy and was fulfilled. There is no seven year tribulation time period in that prophecy. This came from the Jesuits. Believers will go through the un-specified tribulation time period.

      @@brisadelcastillo2840 WoW! Pastor Stephen Bohr is a Seventh Day Adventist preacher. I went to school with his kids. Yeah, there is a convoluted formula which William Miller presented to “prove” The Second Coming was going to be October 22, 1844.

The Historicist position makes the most sense of all three eschatological choices. And the alternate two come from the Jesuits. Understanding eschatology is much easier when you are given all of the historical information, like br. Bohr does in those presentations. If I have errored in dates please tell me where so I can correct my notes. Sorry you had a bad experience with SDA. I don’t promote any denomination. I listen to some former SDA’s as well who don’t believe that Saturday is the Sabbath. However they still hold to Historicism and the Papacy as being anti-Messiah.

    I was raised in a Protestant church. I now fully believe that there is no rapture. I was taught the rapture as fact but began to doubt after studying the scriptures and could not find enough biblical support to back the idea . Plus learning that the idea didn’t even originate until the 1830’s bothered me a lot. Through out scripture I do not see the Lord allowing us to escape hard times but walks with us through those hard times.

      Did you know the tribulation saints and the church age Saints have different gospels?
      ✝️ Church age gospel ✝️
      1 Corinthians 15 KJV
      1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
      2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
      3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
      4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
      ♥️ tribulation saints gospel ♥️
      Revelation 14 KJV
      6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
      7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
      8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
      9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
      10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
      11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
      12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
      ♥️ why can’t church age saints receive the everlasting gospel preached by a angel?
      Galatians 1 KJV
      8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again,
      9 If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
      The Christians must be removed before the tribulation so the angel can come and preach the everlasting gospel or else that angel would be cursed.

    Great talk Father. As a former long time Evangelical who's now converted to Catholicism, I'm extremely familiar with all of these teachings about the Rapture. If I still lived in MA I would have been happy to come speak with you on the subject.
    I saw the 'Left Behind' original movie when it first came out, as a young adult in the Evangelical church, which would have been in the early 1980's. Many evangelical churches were playing the film at the church for people to watch, but very often it was played for youth groups and such in the church, as a tool of ministry. And it was very effective! Although some may call it "cheesy" today, back then when it was played for us in those days, not a single person felt it was cheesy, on the contrary most of us found it extremely shocking, and a film we'd never forget.
    Anyhow, I enjoyed your talk on this, and felt it was very well done. And that's coming from someone who's intimately familiar with the subject of the rapture, having once fully believed it to be biblical, correct teaching.

    To be honest with you Fr. Chris The Rapture has never been something I myself would be worrying about. That is because whether the world is going to end tomorrow or centuries from now we will each come face to face with Jesus on each of our judgment days after we die. For me it's our own personal day of judgment that concerns me because it determines where my soul will end up after I die once it has left my body. In other words I'm concerned with getting my soul properly fed so that it has a chance to go to Heaven while it hopefully surpasses Purgatory because I definitely don't want my soul in Hell.

    • @frangordon9215
      @frangordon9215 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Tara, you get to heaven by accepting Christ as your personal Savior. He paid for all your sins on the cross. Your job is to admit you are a sinner and accept his payment for your sins. Read the book of Romans which explains this fully. Do not put your trust in any of your works. They are very important for rewards, not salvation. Go on TH-cam and listen to Yankee Arnold Ministries, “The Clear Gospel in 4 Minutes.”
      I guarantee that there will be a pretrib rapture.

      @@frangordon9215 Jesus Christ is, has been and always be every Roman Catholics savior. ESPECIALLY when we receive him body, blood, soul and divinity in the Eucharist. You Protestants or non denoms, what ever you are sorely lacking that. John 6:50-60 is perfectly clear on this, but your solo Scriptural crowds avoid such passages because it doesn't fit your narrative. It is my hope and prayer for you, that coming here in this site the Holy Ghost touches your soul to see the truth in the one, holy, apostolic Catholic Church that IS complete in the fullness of all faiths. And that my friend includes that we already have a " personal relationship" with Jesus Christ. BTW, the words " personal relationship with Jesus Christ" are no where in any Bible, not the one Catholics created and not the ones that resulted from break aways religions from Catholicism resulting in the thousands, including the Protestant Reformation that dropped books from the Bible because again it didn't fit the narrative of what protestants wanted to believe.

    Thank You Fr. Chris for your teachings of the Mother Church. It gets a little complicated but by Faith, we believe in what the Church teaches. My family fell away and I know I'm already going through the Trials because I'm living among these Prodestants that are ridiculing the Catholics. As it stands now, I am alone. You'll be in my Prayers.🙏🙏♥️

    The Simpsons clip made me giggle! I genuinely feel sorry for people who have no sense of humor, even when translucent lives are involved. Iykyk. On a serious note, I was raised protestant and the timeline of the end times made zero sense to me. I feel like I understand "the rapture" for the first time in my life. I know we don't base our faith on our feelings, but I think the Holy Spirit helps us to discern when we are hearing the truth. I would say I know this is true because I felt like the Holy Spirit was helping solve something that has puzzled me my whole life. Perhaps I describe it as a "feeling" because I am female, I don't know. Whatever the case may be, thanks Fr. Chris for explaining the more complex aspects of the faith. God bless you, your ministry, and all of the people and ministries of the Shrine.

      @@gtibrucehe dead (in heaven and hell) will have their resurrected immortal bodies, then we who are alive on earth will be transformed in the twinkling of an eye (get our new immortal resurrected bodies). We will all face the Judgement (either eternal life/salvation in heaven or eternal damnation/separation from God, in hell).
      1 Corinthians 15:
      51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed- 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
