One of the most visited Hindu temples outside India, the Batu Caves are extremely popular with local pilgrims as well as international tourists. Located on a limestone hill near Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, the Batu Caves consist of a huge idol and a series of caves dedicated to the deity Swami Murugan. Climb up the 272 colorful steps and check out the limestone, which is said to be about 400 million years old!
Home to the tallest Murugan statue in the world, Batu Caves is one of Malaysia's top tourists hotspots as well as a sacred landmark for Hindu devotees in the country and worldwide.

I have been doing this all my life, my dad has to be here every Thaipusam or his life will not be fulfilled. Now he is no more I have to continue with this tradition once Covid is over. That feeling once you have done the pilgrimage every year is great. Om Muruga. Being a 4th generation Malaysian of Indian descent not been to India before. One day I want to visit India, its been 120 years since my forefathers left.
