I loved Robert and sobbed when I heard he had passed. He did have a wonderful life and he brought depth to my life when he reigned on TCM.
He made me fall in love with silent films! He was so interesting… listen to those stories!!!!
    Rest in peace, Robert… I miss you terribly… 💔

I'm 33 years old. I grew up watching Robert Osborne - he was a teacher for me. I swear I was born in the wrong era, as a child I was always drawn to old films. And still to this day, I appreciate the stars of the Golden Era. I shock myself and other people when I share what I know about films and the stars of the 20th century. Things you wouldn't expect someone to know down to the least expected detail. I would have loved to be in Mr. Osborne's shoes - I live my fascination and appreciation for film through him. Continue to rest in peace, Robert Osborne. Thank you for your talent. ❤️

I feel you 100 percent and can relate somewhat. After I found my love of entertaining, and I was going to school for it, I came across TCM after it being just a few blimps in my television watching history. From around 2008 or 2009 until his passing, TCM was a staple in our household and the channel that was always on due to its content and the way Robert not only gave you great knowledge but also made the information so obtainable, as it was a coffee conversation with a friend. I learned so much from acting from my favorites of Garbo, Crawford, and Davis and enjoyed the month of October when I was introduced to Hammer Horror films. When he passed, it left a change at TCM that the new format and programming has lost what was once so special. In fact, as we speak, I am emptying out our DVR to end our cable service as it no longer holds the charm that it carried when Robert was here.

I can’t simply do that, because there’s no other channel that’s commercial free that shows classic films.

This man life was truly a definite purpose, and in watching him present any movie, any actor, any story of Hollywood and film, he was in entrancing.

Besides everything else, and there was a lot, his writing was excellent. I would love to see a collection of Osborne's articles in a book from.

I always greatly enjoyed Mr. Osborne during his twenty-plus years on TCM. Hearing these stories is just a lot of fun. RIP handsome man - I am so glad that you allowed us to know your life and history better.

I like the classiness of Robert Osborne when talking about AMC's Bob Dorian. Alex was saying Dorian was "no Robert Osborne." Very quietly, Osborne complimented Dorian, who was pretty damned good in his own right.

He seemed like a likable guy. Loved watching the channel. Unfortunately we can’t no longer see it because Comcast ended their subscription. I especially liked his introduction to the musicals and his specials with the celebrities.

You'd be surprised how square some gay men are...some are even celibate, go to church and vote Republican.

@@itstheburnzConsidering how well Jim Bailey impersonated others, if he and Robert Osborn were a couple, then there several people, famous ones like Judy Garland, Phylis Diller and Barbra Streisand, in that relationship.

    • @johnpickford4222

@swampmammytheone: Evidently you must be one swishy from queer queen that demands acceptance to live your live as you want but criticize others for doing the same thing. If Robert Osborn was homosexual that is his business, no one else’s, including yours. He may have been romantically involved with men but it did not define is life. CUT!
