It often happens that people who do interesting things, and who you admire, and do seem very open and eclectic, take their inspiration from other fields you might expect, or have quite a narrow frame of reference themselves. On the other hand, sometimes it is just that what focusses them or drives them in directions or to conclusions you might not expect. I'm not too familiar with Four Tet, but I really need to look into it, sounds cool.
Anyone saying he's not open minded, you're being ridiculous. He doesn't like classical music, that's fine. He's bought thousands of records, I'm sure he's heard plenty of classical in his time, he just hasn't listened to anything he's particularly liked

I do think it’s ignorant to say you don’t like classical music, sorry but that’s like saying you don’t like television, “classical” refers to so many different kinds of music that the odds are he would be able to get into some of it if he had heard the right things
