    Hello,
    Thanks for all the good work you do, it's really appreciated. I got a P244A (differential pressure sensor code) on my 2010 Ram 3500 6.7 diesel, and while I'm waiting for the sensor to arrive in a couple of weeks, I was wondering if this error code would cause an engine derate and going into limp mode?
    Thaks again,
    Dan

    Hello again,
    This is a general question: in your experience, for a 2010 ram 3500 dually, what sensors do you see fail most often, that would be worthwhile having in stock with me?
    Thanks for your help,
    Dan

    Very informative, I would have only asked is for someone that had the lines mixed up that he would have shown which line (front/Rear) goes to which end on the sensor. Thank You.

    Hey sir, great video!! Question, I have a 2012 Ram 2500 and had a DPF code which lead me to change the DPF. I cleared the code and the engine light came back on. I took it to Dodge and they said my EGR valve had a crack in it. They replaced it at $2400 and the light came back on after 25 miles. The code that came up was 2002 which is my backpressure sensor. I removed it and it wasn't clogged but I replaced it anyways. Cleared the code and after about 100 miles the light came on again :( . Could it be the differential pressure sensor?? Thanks!

    I had this code come up in -20F weather. Im wondering if the cold is causing the fault or of a line cracked. Anyone else have this code come up in cold weather ?

    Hey David. I have a 2015 5500 C&C that's been throwing ash restriction and excessive regen codes P242f and P2459. I pull heavy with it(30-40k) weekly 1500-3000 miles and it's got 215k on the odo. It definitely does do the regens way too often. It does them about every other day and never gets below 90%. Last week it actually derated me to 35mph a couple of times on the freeway and was in regen mode for 4 hours straight at 100%. I've removed the dpf and pressure washed it until you could drink the water coming out. I did the cleaning a few weeks ago before the derate. You told me once that the egr valve doesn't need to be cleaned on the C&C's but I'm just wondering if there's anything else I should be looking for. Map sensor? Dpf sensors clogged up? Just want to try the easy stuff before I think about replacing the Dpf.. Thanks for the great videos. Liked and subscribed..

      I dont have a video on the newer version. Its located near the DPF and uses quick connects for the lines that go to the DPF. Find the lines and follow them to the sensor. Thanks for the comment about the video and make sure to subscribe

      Thanks for the reply. Dealer did the sensor replacement this a.m. Would have done it myself but they did it on the max care warranty, which I was thinking wouldn't cover it, but it did. Originally had a broken off bolt on the DPF flange that allowed a big exhaust leak and they figured it was the leak causing a false sensor fault. But the code came back so I took it back and they did the sensor. Truck has almost 300K on it, so I'm just glad all my recent issues wasn't a bad DPF! Thanks again. And, you do know the title to this vid is messed up, right? Last two digits of the code reversed...

    "A" circuit performance code p2453. how do I know my DPF needs (off vech.) cleaning or replacement, dpf sensor will put out a code .... overhead console will put out a % used. Was the sensor in need of testing or the code meant it was bad. What's the sensor cost? Video title states P2435. Love your vids.

      On my 2010 ram 3500, the sensor from the dealer was quoted over $600 Cad$. From eBay $14 US$. Is this highway robbery or what? HOw can they get away with this kind of gouging consumers?

    David, awesome channel! My 2008 2500 6.7 has a different looking differential pressure sensor. It is held onto the bracket by 4 small bolts. The inlets look like the same size. When I search online for the sensor that fits my truck, the results show one that looks like the one in your video. What is the correct differential pressure sensor for my truck? Thanks, Kevin

    • @devildog5001
      @devildog5001 ปีที่แล้ว

      My 09 has the same sensor with the 4 bolts, did you end up replacing yours with the original 4 bolt style or use the sensor like the one in this video? How do you get to the top of that bracket to remove it?! Removing the bracket seems impossible

    • @SoundORama1
      @SoundORama1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@devildog5001 I used one like the one in this video. The bracket is held on by one bolt just out of sight at the top of the bracket. Use your camera with the flash on to take photos of the bolt that you cant see at the top of the bracket. Also do the same to see the threaded nut that is welded to the frame when re-installing to make it easier to know where it is. I used a 10mm deep socket and ratchet to loosen the bolt then used my fingers and the deep socket to spin it out. Mark the edge of the bracket before you loosen bolt to make it easier to line it up when re-installing. I left the old 4 bolt sensor in place. I removed the top forward bolt of the four on the old sensor and used that to hold the new type sensor though the provided mounting hole. I used a little lock tight and did not re-use the two little nuts that I removed. the sensor connections wound up almost exactly where the old ones were. I used electrical tape to cover the connector and inlet/outlet of the old sensor to keep mud out. I don't know that the old one is bad. I would not recommend this method if you are doing work for a customer, but on your personal truck, I have no fear that it is solid and safe. Best Wishes!

    • @andrewbennett3007

      It measures differential pressure or DP = (upstream - downstream pressure). Very common in filtration to have DP gauges as they tell you when the filter needs replacement.

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The issue wont be related to the DPF.....the code is turbo related. The first step they recommend is cleaning the turbo. The dealer can perform this with the turbo on the vehicle or you can take it off and there are some shops that specialize in diesels that can clean it manually. Then you will need to see if the issue/code returns.....if so then the turbo will need to be replaced.
