I’m 42, I still feel this way. Energy Drains: binge eat, scrolling, comparing myself to people half my age doing better financially?
Energized by: Morning routine that’s not rushed, meditating, coffee and journal, gym.

      *sigh*
It's not black and white. There are more than two choices. You can not have the energy to do something and then do it and then still not have energy. Repeat that long enough and you get demoralization or burnout. It's a huge issue. If people got energy after they did stuff without fail, we would be looking at a very different society

    • @msandyford8988
      @msandyford8988 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

Never said it was black and white? It doesn’t need to be to resonate with someone. You’re doing the whole this one concept presented as it is doesn’t apply to me so I must comment to make that clear thing - good job? *sigh*

Depends on if you have thyroid disease and adrenal insufficiency. Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try and do but you don’t get a rush after exercise, you do it and then just want to lay down

    • @msandyford8988
      @msandyford8988 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I get this as I had to have my thyroid removed due to thyroid disease and have had my share of adrenal issues as a result but we, as willing consumers of social media do not have to stop and tell the person simply putting out some potentially useful information that their advice does not work for our very specific reasons. It’s the whole “but I don’t like beans” bean soup recipe phenomenon. If this doesn’t work for you that’s ok! You don’t need to tell everyone or the person offering advice. Just let it not work and move on. It works for some and that’s ok too!

“Stop thinking and start doing” is a huge problem for me. I overthink everything… and it leaves me exhausted and paralyzed by fear. I want to change my life radically but all I can see is a million things that could go wrong if I take a huge leap. And I feel like I don’t have the energy to take all of the little steps it would take me to get where I want to be. I’m afraid I will miss a step or realize I made a huge mistake and there is no going back. I am a single mom and terrified of making a wrong decision and putting my kids in a bad situation, so I make no moves and make the decision to change nothing, and I am miserable for it. Thank you so much for your content! Wish me luck guys! ❤

I want to encourage you to give yourself some grace.
Maybe what would help is doing the next best thing that is in front of you, whatever helps you feel like you had a small win for the day.
Hug your kids and know that giving them that extra few seconds is a win.
      Maybe you could:
Start with the tiny step/task that you think will improve your day by 1%. Know that if it doesn't help that you have the choice to stop doing it.
Give yourself permission to fail/not reach that goal if it's not leading you to where you want to be in life.
A question I ask myself is:
Is Choice A leading me to be closer to my ideal life or away from the life I want? And then the 2nd question is:
Is there one action/task I can do today to help myself get closer to my ideal life?
I'm still learning how to do this.
I hope you find what works for you.
      Blessings, Dot

Overthinking and getting exhausted before even starting doing anything is sign of perfectionism. Which is trauma response. You are afraid to fail. Although, success is not a straight route and failures come along the way. Trust yourself.

My therapist says people are more inclined to change when they are in a position that 1. Forces them to change or 2. You literally cant take the way you are currently living so you change on your own. Most of us are doing the best we can. Its a lot of small steps, small wins/failures that lead up to the big change. Hopefully you work to retain that positive change but life isn’t linear.

Bordom leads to desire and desire leads to vices which lead to self sabotage. Purpose over pleasure.
Habits create results. Create good habits you'll be less inclinced to skip on disciplines in tough or tired times. Once the sub conscious is feed good habits you'll experience skipping' as guilt.

As someone with multiple hobbies/ two jobs and countless other things going on I can just tell you that if you wait for the motivation to start doing something you’ll never do it sadly. Motivation rarely comes first. The hardest part is forcing/ making yourself start doing it and then motivation and joy comes. Eg: I enjoy art. It brings me immense happiness every time I draw and get I couldn’t bring myself to draw at all. So I told myself just a quick 1-5 minute sketch and that sketch turned into hours since I gained the energy and motivation and happiness to do it. So I’d say find what works to make you just start doing it and the rest will come! Also another thing, 5 minutes each day is better than nothing so don’t feel guilty you can’t do much.

I've hit a rough depression patch these last couple of weeks. I am so tired and overwhelmed. I like the tips you gave. I am resting a lot this week, took some time away from work, and doing very small things to keep going. Have you looked into adhd? Learning more about it has helped me accept myself and find strategies for my brain wiring. I set 5 minute timers to get started on things. In spite of still having depression, I have been way more consistent getting tasks done. I recently did a 40 hours fast because I was so burned out I didn't wanna cook or even eat. I had the time off work, so I decided to make it therapeutic. Got some electrolytes, rested, prayed, and made it a mindful fast. It brought me some peace! I'm not saying fasting is for everyone, definitely check with a doctor first. You make a good point on several things..I agree if you make yourself do things when you're resisting, it feels SO good afterwards. I also agree its best to be away from complaining and negative people. I try to keep the venting to my own journal or therapy. My new goal for this week: I'm gonna sit down and write my energizer list, and make that vision board like you suggested.
By the way your makeup is really pretty!

Hear ya! I am 2X your age, but that’s no excuse. In the last year I have completely flipped to a low energy person with a lot of anxiety. I believe in or feel like I know that I attract things in my life, and after the first few hours of the day which I try to prep myself for attracting a good life, I slip and tumble down a dark hole…like almost daily! Then I spend every night trying to escape the drama I experienced all day.

Not enough of fun and love, too much responsibility and doing tasks for others or 'to-do-lists'. I find focusing on my dreams on a tangible way (actively breaking down how to live my dream) gives me motivation. Thank you for making this video.

After practicing something over and over again, it becomes second nature. And sometimes we need REST to regroup and then our energy comes back.
We are people, not machines. It’s okay to rest, regroup and reset.
And you’re right, more often than not, we have to force ourselves to do _______ (whatever) and after we do, we feel better.

oh my god, bianca... that was the first video of yours that was ever recommended to me and im asking myself if you're my twin in spirit... i have the EXACT same things that energize me. (hydration+caffeine, deep convos, inspiring each other, doing physical work first thing in the morning, deeply understanding a new concept and being excited by it, 15 minute of closing eyes, etc.) this is just CRAZY! wow! i rarely ever leave comments like these, but i HAD to let you know that you are the first person i have EVER heard verbalize the same things that give me energy. AND i have the exact same struggles when it comes to fasting compulsively and then ending up binge eating (due to my ADHD and weird stomach issues). i loved the entire video. thank you for doing this.

I have a tip for people who want to read more:
When thinking about it, if we make the goal "do more" there's the potential for us to feel guilt from "underachieving." Your goal of stretching "after waking up" is good because waking up works as a reminder/prompt. Try starting with a book you know you like and make the goal, something like "read 10 pages at dinner time" (while it's cooking or after eating) 🍀💗💗💗💗

Hi Bianca. Hope you find your peace within. A minute into your video and I felt like you’re describing me.
I just turned 30 and realized that depression exists in many forms. Some of us may seem to have it all together on the outside- eating well, sleeping, exercising, working a full time job, parenting, attending social events- inside though we feel out of sync.
I have learnt to be grateful for little things and trying to live in the moment. That gives me peace. Hope you find yours soon 💕 from Canada

The big trick of the ego, I am a body, and something outside is giving me energy/Joy, must eat better, exercise more. Was here too a few years ago.
The energy (love) you are looking for comes from inside, your conditioned mind is getting to negative, because of judging. And judging thoughts, like must improve and stuff, those judgment ideas are seeking energy/love from outside.
You can train your mind, so love comes from inside. But the school systems trained your mind to drain your energy. And the down spiral is increasing more and more because of those thinking patterns they teach you. ❤️❤️❤️

For me my adhd medication helped with energy. My lack of energy was extreme. I had no idea I had adhd, but in retrospect I did, but most of it was in my head. I actually get stuff done. In my case I had no energy for things that energized me. I accomplished things for two weeks, max a month and lose steam. The mere intent was enough for me to feel an energy drop.

I think the thing that gets me too is I don’t know what I’m supposed to be inspired about, like a lot of people inspire for wealth, money, travel, extreme fitness but these things don’t appeal to me. I enjoy the arts but I’m not talented at anything specifically so it’s like there is no purpose to progressing anything because other people are there already. I feel like anything I might try will be pointless. Thanks for the video, it describes exactly where I am at.

You are a professional athlete. That IS your life. The amount of training, practice and discipline to reach and stay at that level is exhausting in and of itself. The way you're feeling is why you are successful today. You may never read more, meditate more or whatever it is you're pursuing but you will always strive to do those things and that's what is most important. Stay hungry.
If you want a blunt answer your question though, I think once you retire from soccer, you'll probably have more time and energy to do these other things. 😉

Does it get easier ?Yes! “Well Accepting what we are “ does. Gets better? NO, lol. Worse! 58, BUT yah gotta laugh & smile. EVERYTHING is a losing fight! You just got to think of it this way, our benefit is that we got a Headstart on this! I got this “not getting started thing down, daily overwhelm” DOWN PAT! I am seeing people 2,5-10 years down the road ahead me, moaning & complaining. They don’t feel like doing this. I can’t get themselves to that. They’re sick and dont feel like doing anything…afraid of this and afraid of that…. I’m prepared for ALL that!! I’m in great shape! eat healthy!. I totally feel this. I have had chronic fatigue since I was 12 due to incredibly tenacious chronic infections. I sometimes have no energy to nap or rest!! Tired and wired. The struggle is real. What works for me when I’m totally exhausted is resting mixed with activity.
I too am also energized by socializing and conversing. It’s a life saver, for real. It’s sad though because I’m in my 40’s and my friends are all so busy. Luckily just going out around people helps me, like reading at a coffee shop.
And the worst thing for me is getting sucked into my phone!! Mindless scrolling depletes me. But it’s hard to put the phone down.

sounds like you’re burnt out. i burnt out hard and stopped enjoying life. i quit my career, took a less stressful job. i now love my mornings. i wake up 1 1/2 hrs before work and ease into the day. I found by slowing down my focus changed and i could more clearly see what actually makes me happy . multi tasking and achieving maximum efficiency while chasing other people’s dreams will leave you miserable. BTW, i’m actually healthier and wealthier now. it’s counterintuitive, but slowing down is what you actually need to find better focus and energy. just a thought. when we try to do it all we actually get nothing done.

I am experiencing the same issue and I have for some years now. I am in menopause so I know that is contributing to it. The other things that kind of bring my energy down is that I’ve had several losses of family members and friends in recent years. The biggest loss lately has been that of my only sibling my brother. In the past six years since he left as I’ve been kind of going through the motions. Also, I am the caretaker for senior parents and they have a lot of health problems. When I started noticing this about myself, turns out I was dying. I was very sick and didn’t know it. Makes sense now that when I was doing the very thing that always energized me, I was still tired. Unfortunately, I never pulled through and now I’m doing bad financially. However, I know what you mean about self-sabotaging behavior. I have trouble sleeping and whatever opportunities I did have to sleep, I use it to watch other people doing the thing I love doing on tv/social media (like I’m doing now) because I didn’t want to face sleep. Sleep is a source of high anxiety for me because I already have trouble with it so I made it worse by engaging in things that hurts my sleep even more. I have to stop.

Oh I so totally get you when you say that you are too tired to be disciplined. One thing that really helped me is energy cleansing. Because it seems like you are doing everything right so that one thing that is missing is this. Try it out and see how much better you will feel right away💜You can do it in meditation, taking salt scrubs(doing both things is amazing) or going to see someone who is an expert at clearing energy.

Omg I was just thinking about writing a comment on how I just learned how to do this in a meditation. For me it helps a lot but today for example, I found myself still getting very tired. I think it might have something to do with working from home and being alone a lot. Do you actually go to someone?

Sounds like you doing something similar to what I did. I told myself I wanted and always ended up questioning it. Then I started telling myself I needed to, and that led to me doing it because I told myself I needed it. Wants are fleeting, but needs are universal. My needs may not be the same as yours, but there’s no denying that we both need what we need.

You’re a breath of fresh air and you were right you did motivate me. In my case I have an adhd brain which I was not aware of until I was 38, only 5 years ago. I honestly believe it was the reason I could not stick to a plan for very long. I feel that stretching is so underrated and I’m suffering from sciatica at the moment and it is affecting my work and family life, for the last 3 years I’ve noticed I cannot get motivated as I could once to start exercising, eating more balanced meals, and lately it hasn’t helped that I work graveyards. Thank you for the really motivational content that goes beneath the surface

Avid TikTok user selling sports cards forever now it seems like. But I really just wanted to reach out and tell you that I know your channels, focus his of course, to empower women, which I think is awesome. I think knowledge is power. I like to have those deep ,raw, and unfiltered conversations. I learn so much from others. I just get the intuition what is right. Everyone stretch and drink water. Take it from someone who ran marathons, tennis, part of Everest. Not a professional athlete but thought I dont need to stretch and I love Coke Zero. One day you will wake up and wont be the same so please take that advice. Also I have a hard time with change. I will go down kicking to not have changing situations. Everyday changes so embrace it. As life changes your identity changes and going positive works out much better. I think we all need to love others and ourselves and move forward with energy but also realize our world is draining right now. I think vibe is great but maybe focus on one of your bucket list items and don’t take on too much. But we are all different in what brings out the best in us as individuals. Enjoyed your video

Fatigue is tricky. Monk mode is a good solution, however, what if someone has actually drained their energy from too much ambition? I have done this before, and balance is very important and difficult to maintain. Monk mode is a great idea, don't think I'm not saying that! Part of monk mode could be figuring out the things that need to go so you can rest and have balance. Perhaps.

First of all, you're so sweet and relatable. Thank you for talking about this that not many TH-camrs are talking about! You're so raw and authentic I love it!
For me personally I just found out that talking out loud makes me feel better/energized. I dont have any friends so when I do talk out loud I pretend to talk to God and I feel like at least someone is listening! I know it would look creepy to someone else but I don't care.
Also, driving really relaxes me. It's almost therapeutic like for me. But honestly I feel like I can definitely cut out some stuff that are draining me like binge eating, not having any time for myself too.

Tomorrow will be the first day in which I apply a method that I felt solved my problem My suffering with laziness reached the point of depression for a year without doing anything. I lost my education, my money, and even my relationship with friends and family, and all of this is because I am no longer responsible. I see myself as going into danger and I do not do anything, but I made a promise to myself to fix everything I ruined with my lack of responsibility. Towards my life, thank you. You helped me a lot with this video. I wish you a good life ❤

I think we go through stages in life, and if you want to read more, meditate, and do more activities that are internal based and not physical, or external, like your career as a soccer player, I would say those things will come with time. This is what I tell myself. I have other interests, but I don’t have time for them right now, but I’m expecting to live along time, and those other interests will serve me when I am ready for them. also, I would say because your physically well you will have the health and longevity in your life to eventually get around to the other things. Some people never get their health and check thus they’re not able to enjoy the other activities down the road because they die early. or they’re sick.

We have unlimited energy, we need to just tap into that, there are behaviours and actions likethe one you mentioned that do actually give us more energy "paradoxically"- exercising doesnt "cost" us energy, it gives us energy. Doomscrolling mindlessly costs energy. Complaining and gossiping costs us energy. Negative beliefs deplete us while positive beliefs refill us and boost us.
Thanks for the video. You can sense that you care about this topic and that you are excited about talking about it

This is so interesting because I’m the opposite. I’m so disciplined in a morning routine: reading, meditation, yoga, etc. before even checking my phone. I am so disciplined in the mindset area, but not so disciplined in the physical health area. I will eat clean for a few days, and then indulge in fast food for days after. I’ve made my exercise goal smaller smaller, but yet I still can’t even commit to 30 minutes of exercise a day. It doesn’t make sense.

The title alone was completely relatable lol💯!!! But seriously I've been on my own "self-improvement" journey for the past 3-4 years or so and the main thing I've always struggled with most was feeling burned out non-stop, procrastinating from analysis paralysis, and like I'm in this constant loop of going from extreme highs to rock bottom... Lately I've been feeling really inspired to get my life "back on track", but like I BARELY even have the energy to do simple things, let alone trying to improve it!!
But I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one going thru this because sometimes this journey can get and feel lonely af. Thank you posting this despite being nervous lol💕☺

Living with chronic fatigue syndrome, chronic pain and a mental health challenge called bipolar spectrum disorder I find it hard to do anything. Some days im better than others but the last 2 weeks I am struggling with a flare-up of pain and tiredness and a corresponding flare-up of bipolar depression... My energy comes from coffee and keeping warm (as we head into autumn and winter here in South Eastern Australia). Also by doing the tiniest thing I have to do (washing a mug) or writing a list of things I want to do.
Cuddles with my cat Shadow turns into resetting his food area, putting the rubbish and recycling in the big bins, tidying up the kitchen and doing the washing up.
Im learning if I do the things I enjoy first then they usually trigger me to do something I need to do to manage my life. Blessings, Dot

Oh my goodness, I always get paralyzed by looking at all the things I COULD be doing that I wind up doing nothing but staring around the room for a long time. I think it comes from just trying to figure out how to best spend my time. But I do agree that sometimes just lying down for five minutes to close your eyes can be just as effective as a full nap. I love narrowing down the things that bring me joy and do them as much as I can!

Thank you for this. I also suffer from low energy. I am disciplined in some things, and not others. For example, I walk the neighborhood every day even if I don't feel like it. When I am out driving and running errands, I have energy. Staying home facing my chores is draining. I can be very productive some days, and other days I am just lazy. I do write up to do lists and accomplish a lot, but it's not consistent. 😢

This was such a helpful video! For so long I have had tons of self-improvement goals and have been aware of the ways I have been self sabotaging. I never new/understood why I always felt too tired to do all these things. The way you explain this is so helpful to digest and SO incredibly relevant. Each element you laid out makes sense to the ways I have been feeling/thinking. The self sabotage due to not knowing yourself is GOLDEN and really hit home. So often we are told today that we are tired due to a lack of self care or rest, but for some time now, that hasn't been the case for me. I would hear/see that content and feel the disconnect. However, I didn't understand, until seeing your video, what to do to not feel so tired and blocked from doing the things that in my heart, I wanted to do and areas of myself I wanted to improve. I don't need more rest (I am getting that) as self-care culture says. I need to find out what energizes me, what drains me, get to know myself, and include those things in my day to improve. Thank you for sharing these thoughts!
