N.E.D.! It's been over three years I've been longing to hear those letters. First my colon. Then my brain. Now my lung. Two operations. One bout with chemo. Now another one, this one's FOLFAX. Holy moley, YOU DID IT! You're a real badass, a true Warrior! I'm truly happy to hear that you've got my back, George. "I will get by. I will survive."--Jerry Garcia (Grateful Dead)
Yay !!!! George you come from a blood line fighters. I was told to get my affairs in order that I would be looking at 4 years if I was lucky. Like you it pissed me off. I got myself in order and 9 years later I’m still here. So keep up the fight and keep doing what your doing. Love ya Aunt Jan
I was diagnosed the same month and year you were. It is very scary and surreal. I had my surgery in March of 2023 and 12 rounds of chemo that ended in Julyof 2023. I had 1 small spot in my liver but as of October of 23 I was NED and the best news you want to hear. I think you’re amazing and inspirational and I keep you in my prayers. We can do this!
@@GeorgeLangabeer Good luck on your scans. My blood work is tomorrow and MRI is Friday, listening to you eased my scan anxiety. My Signatera has been negative 3 times and I hope the same for you. God bless.
This is the 2nd video I have watched from you. The 1st was after your 1st round. This video made me cry. My mom had 3c colon cancer and I was her caregiver and she is now 6 years in remission! Scan anxiety, and the trauma of it is real. However, the positivity that you have is what kept us alive and the trust of our medical team. Congratulations for the wonderful NED news. Keep up the good fight! To anyone fighting cancer or is a caregiver just know you are not alone. 🙏💙💜🙏
I was diagnosed with stage 4 Rectal cancer in April. Sadly due to a intestinal operation 25 years ago what most people would notice has symptoms were a daily event for me for decades. Since my diagnoses I have opted for putting off any colon/rectal surgery until all other options are performed. I endured 28 rounds of mapped radiation and oral Chemo. My metastasis was one spot on my lung. I am currently in the middle of my Chemo infusion plan. I fear the possibility of a bag more than I can express. I am so Happy for you. So so happy
Sorry to read of your diagnosis. Is it a big spot on your lung? Are you responding well to the radiation/chemo? Are the treatments working? Don’t fear the bag. You learn to deal with it and it’s better than the alternative. I always say you have to rock it with confidence. I am 100% able to live my normal life with it. My catch phrase is, “I poop out my gut instead of my butt…so what?”. lol Stay strong and keep up the good fight my friend. We got this!
@@GeorgeLangabeer actually I've been handling my teams treatment plan (albeit, under direct order from me of surgical restrictions.. aka bag) we began with 28 rounds of mapped radiation to my tumor, along with oral Chemo. My CT scan showed my tumor decreased greatly and the one small spot on my lung did a little as well. I am in the middle of my infusion Chemo plan. I had my second PET scan. The spot on my lung is now almost invisible to me. My team meets this week to discuss my treatment and surgery plan.
That is great news. Bro. I'm too, have stage 4 colon cancer and completing my second 6 month chemo session. You've been through hell, keep going. Hang in there.

We'll keep pulling for you and family! Stay strong and positive and we look forward to more news of you beating this! 👍🏼💪🙏🏼
Great news! God bless you and your family. I’ve been following your story from Los Angeles. You have been given a tremendous gift… not only the gift of your life, but also a new perspective on life and what’s truly important. Make the most of the gift you’ve been given.
I just saw your video. So happy for you. You will be in my prayers for being very brave in your journey. I will pray that God keep you healthy. Thanks for sharing your good news.
Thank you to sharing your journey and I am over the moon for this news for you!! Navigating my dad’s new diagnosis & perforation has been a roller coaster and tuning into your journey has been giving me hope and a fighting spirit along him!!
Thank you & thanks for sharing this. Means a lot & I’m happy to help. ❤️ It can definitely be a rollercoaster & it sounds like he & I went through some of the same things. You should follow me on Instagram @silverhammersurveillance. As I try to get back to “normal” on TH-cam, I still share quite a bit about my health journey on Instagram.
I am in the process of buying a home and while researching smart home/home security found your channel. I just saw your video from 8mos ago with an update and went looking for a more recent follow up and saw this. Congratulations on NED.🍾 I am a 2x cancer survivor have been in remission for 5 years. It's always a good day to hear of another cancer survivor getting good news of NED. Keep on rocking it.
I’ve watched your videos and updates on your journey. I appreciate all the information that you share and find it very informative. I had my colonoscopy done yesterday. I was hesitant to get it done because I was scared of the prep, etc. But knowing what you went through helped push me to get it done.
That is great news! Did you have radiation treatments as well? My husband was diagnosed July 28th 2-3 stage colon rectal cancer. Hes on he just finished his 3rd radiation treatment out of 5 and October 3rd he will begin the Folfox chemo. Im so nervous of the side effects. He will have 4 rounds 8 treatments from my understanding. Thank you for posting your journey with cancer, very helpful information. Ill be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for a full recovery.
Thank you ❤️🙏🏻….for me, it’s been 12 rounds of Folfox and no radiation. I blessed with very little side effects. Currently celebrating being NED! I’ll be sending your husband every positive vibe I have!
Wow! That is AMAZING!!!! June '23 I was diagnosed with stage 2 rectal cancer. I just finished radiation/oral chemo 12 days ago. Now facing chemo on Monday, Sept 25. I AM TERRIFIED, but I am hopeful after watching this video. Thank God you are doing so well!!!!! Did you do anything "special" that helped you with chemo side-effects?
❤️🙏🏻. I wish I could tell you I had a magic formula that helped me, but I really just got lucky with the side effects. It hits everybody so differently. All I know is, in my case it was all worth it because IT WORKED! Thank goodness. I know it’s scary. This disease absolutely sucks. My only advice is, go into it with positivity, a fight-to-win attitude and remember you are there for a reason….to kick cancer’s ass! Thank you for sharing & I hope it goes as well as it possibly can. Keep me updated!
Congratulations, George! How often will you be going for diagnostic scans (and what types) to make sure it doesn't come back or, if it does, to catch it early enough to successfully treat it again?
Thanks! As I said in the video, I’ll be doing one of two things….1. Going in every two weeks for maintenance chemo, in which they will monitor my labs every two weeks. OR 2. I get a break from chemo and I do scans every 3 months to check for reoccurrence.
@@GeorgeLangabeer Oh I'm sorry, I missed that part where you said you will be scanned every 3 months if not on chemo. What types of scans will they be and for how long will you keep doing them if you are NED? Thank you in advance for your kind reply. I'm glad you are doing these videos, even if they aren't your typical security-themed videos.
@roseivory8496 Most likely CT Scans, but we haven’t covered all those details yet. We’re waiting for the results of the Signatera test before we decide next steps.
@@GeorgeLangabeer I hope the test comes back with reassuring results for you! You really seem like a good man and your TH-cam videos and you taking the time to answer your subscribers' questions help so many people! May I ask why you did not have a screening colonoscopy done at 45 as per the current screening guidelines or even earlier due to your history with cysts in that region?
Because I’m 49 now & the screening age chanced the same year I got my colonoscopy (which was last year). So when I was 45 the age was still 50. If I would have got the colonoscopy at 45 it would have been too early to catch this.
@@GeorgeLangabeerI recently discovered that the American Cancer Society changed its colon cancer screening guidelines from age 50 to 45 way back in 2018. However, the US Preventative Services Task Force changed their guidelines from 50 to 45 just recently in 2021. Do you know which of the two guidelines the insurance companies use?
I was also diagnosed in October 2022. Your videos have helped me to keep fighting when I was down. Thank you.
