I've gone through almost the same thing. Cancer in 2021, NED after treatment. End of last year, my neck started to hurt. Like you, I thought nothing off it and tried to ignore it. Then had physical therapy until the pain got so unbearable that I had an MRI and it showed a fracture in my T1 vertebrae. I had surgery two days later followed by 22 rounds of radiation and a shot of xgeva every four weeks. Today, 3 months later, I'm back working, mowing the lawn, riding my bike and walking my dog. You got this!

Above all, do not pay ANY attention to negative comments.

Come on, no one is that evil. Well maybe a few idiots.
The people who do not wish her well are the people who are saying she was indulging in hubris. It's because she had a baby despite having stage 4 cancer. It was, I suspect, self-righteousness about the baby. That she would leave her baby without a mother.
I am not saying that should ever have been something said by anyone to Samantha or ANYONE ELSE IN HER SHOES. Far from it.
But I also confess when she did it (I have been subscribed to her channel for a long time), I did wonder what she was thinking in getting pregnant. I can understand freezing your eggs and wanting to wait to see how things go. What if she had had a sudden explosion of cancer while she was pregnant? Admittedly Gray is a great guy, but we are talking about creating, possibly, a very tragic circumstance.
But as Samantha has said, she is about living her life, not worrying it away. There are plenty of people who have small children and get killed in car accidents. There are no guarantees. But their baby will have two outstanding parents and infinite love for as long as she can and the only thing that MIGHT change is the loss of one of her parents and god willing, not nore than that.

I dont think people were saying THAT, were they? They were saying "I told ya so", which is slightly less heinous. I still think these people were poorly trained and possibly even on the spectrum. No awareness of socially unacceptable.
Also, I think they were thinking of Samantha's baby. As though a recurrence was inevitable and that she was inviting disaster and it wasn't fair to the baby. But of course, that totally underestimates Samantha and Gray and suggests THEY hadn't thought all these issues through.

Hi Samantha! I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2017. My oncologist opted for estrogen therapy. Ibrance, letrozole, Herceptin, xgeva, and faslodex worked up until a month ago. The cancer moved to my liver. It’s only 2mm so they can’t do a biopsy. Besides that it had already metastasized to my bones and lungs in 2017. MBC has definitely changed my life. I started chemotherapy again on 8/24/23. This time my oncologist chose to start me on Enhertu. I’ve only had one treatment so far and honestly it made me very tired and l experienced nausea for 4 days afterwards. Zofran did help slightly. i would check in with your doctor first to make sure there are no medication interactions and nothing bad will happen to you but there is a person on youtube an italian doctor that cures cancer with sodium bicarbonate ( baking soda ) and is convinced cancer is an overgrown fungus. i would look into more natural and healthy alternatives then what they give to you in the hospital because it is extremely deadly and alot of the time doesnt work. oregano oil also seems to be another really good one for fungus and bacteria overgrowth. www.youtube.com/@ListenToYourGut1st/videos i like this persons product because they seem to know what they are doing and they explain how you arent supposed to chemically change and process the oregano oil and you dont want anything added to it. a few years ago i had a white patch on my tongue that woudlnt go away even when i brushed it and after i started looking up what it could be alot of mouth cancer looked like that so i started to freak out and did alot of research on cancer on the internet and what i found was surprising. after the first time of trying baking soda the white patch on my tongue completely went away and never came back. good luck hopefully this could help you find a safer and healthier alternative to chemotherapy

Now she needs to advocate more for herself! Especially in the USA where Medical treatment is a business, based on whether the treatment is paid for, or not. Which is appalling! When told to have Physical Therapy, then to pay for an MRI SCAN, following a previous Cancer diagnosis , that's EXACTLY what needed to be done!! I hope, in her future treatments, she actually makes her decisions based on her Medical advice. She could have easily been diagnosed, and had treatment, before having to suffer such terrible extremes of agony. It's awful that the Cancer is back. And it's sickening to know that, both before and following Surgery, this beautiful girl has had to endure such pain. I'm not judging her, even though it reads that way. I'm a nurse who is both saddened, and frustrated, about the decision making in this case. BY THE PATIENT!! It's horrifying that she, needlessly, suffered for a lack of clarity around her decisions. And not getting a new Oncologist? I don't know how long she's lived here, and don't care if they planned to move again!! They should have been in touch with an Oncologist where they now live. 2° breast Cancer is hardly rare! They're now parents to a BABY. Not teens just randomly travelling around , with zilch in the way of responsibility! They need to grow up , think more deeply and not live in a state of denial over Health issues! Makes me so mad!! Why didn't THEIR parents step up and guide them more?? Still, I wish her every blessing as she continues to recover from Surgery and as they go forward. Cancer is an evil illness which absolutely NOBODY ever deserves. May this couple and their baby enjoy many, many Happy years ahead of them .

I’m a retired NP. You are not a wimp. Spinal cancer is very painful. I’m sorry this was not diagnosed right away. It should not have taken a fracture to diagnose it. You should have had an MRI right away. I hope they treat your pain adequately so you can tolerate activity. Nobody should suffer with this level of pain without appropriate pain control and treatment to minimize it. Bone pain is harder to treat and requires adjunct medications like gabapentin, seizure meds, anti-inflammatory meds/steroids, blocks, etc. I’m glad you are moving back to Virginia. Don’t delay. You need multidisciplinary coordination of care. I’m so sorry you are going through all this.

Being back in Virginia will be sooo helpful since you and Gray will have all of that extra support and help. Just try to take one step at a time and not think too far ahead. You have a great team who will guide you through this.
You are a beautiful, strong person with a wonderful husband and daughter (and fur baby) and so much love is being sent your way from your closest family and friends. Soak this allllll up and soak up the love and good wishes being sent to all of you from your many, many virtual friends who have grown so connected to you because you cared to share your cancer journey with us. Ya I know we have not met, but we are connected because you have helped so many of us with your candid, honest, funny videos and have made our cancer journeys a little less scary and lonely. Both you and Gray have also been such awesome role models by showing us how to handle adversity with such grace. You also have reminded us (me) all about the importance of living large every day and finding joy and fun and laughter through positive relationships, wonderful travels and through the experience of making your dream of having a baby come true.
Gray- we care about you and want you to take care of yourself. Those that care for us with cancer are the true unsung heroes and your own health can be so negatively impacted by being a care giver. Please feel all of the amazing good wishes and love being sent your way too.

I feel much happier paying through general taxation so that I can have healthcare that is free at the point of delivery if and when I need it when money is the last thing on people's minds. I’m not sure muscle spasms is the right way to describe it because since my surgery, I’ve been feeling more of what I think muscle spasms actually feel like. I was able to walk at the beach but some of the pain then was worse than the day I went to the ER, and I couldn’t walk that day. I think there’s just so many variables with back injuries that I never realized and they’re all painful in different ways

Some people will do everything wrong and it won't. There is a low ceiling on how much you can influence this. She also said that you mustn't forget to live. Whether it comes back or not is pretty much out of our control so live life as fully as you can. You have done this beautifully and any decisions you have made have been correct for you. The automatic dismissal of you by ER staff is what they do with patients they think are med seeking. I am so effing tired of seeing doctors automatically dismiss patients experiencing pain and act as if there is nothing causing it.
You poor thing being gaslit by your own care staff. It saddens me greatly to know you are dealing with so much. Hoping you can stay comfy for a while and that the doctors finally treat you.
    Whisper hugs from Ohio.❤

Ive never commented before. I just want to say how much I admire your courage, not just for how articulate you are in relating your story so far, but how you help us to understand your pain level ( lying on your stomach to eat your dinner), your frustration with Gray in that awful, human moment. I cant imagine. I feel such heart for you both and, of course, for your family. To be in such pain and concerned about your baby and no MRI!! Aaaaaargh!!! You are incredible and I am so, so sorry that you are going through this. I dont know what I could possibly say that could help. I wish I could. But I hold so much hope and love for you and your beautiful family.

Prayers for you sweetheart. Thank you for sharing with all of us who care about your journey. I have always loved how you have carried on being a cancer survivor. That’s EXACTLY what I have done. Whether cancer comes back or not you live your life. You got this kid doing what it takes to be with your family through all the pain I saw the photo of you holding your baby with ice around you not expecting to hear your cancer is back. Crap!

I'm so very sorry the cancer is back. Your videos were such a great help to me when I started my own journey with breast cancer. Recurrence is a daily fear of mine, and most cancer survivors, but you have inspired me so much to live life to the fullest every day no matter what the future may or may not hold. No one knows what is ahead, and it's so important to live your dreams in the present. You are in my thoughts and I'm hoping for the absolute best for you. You have a great medical team, and I'm certain they will come up with a plan of treatment that will allow you to have many more comfortable years with your precious child, husband and extended family. Take care and keep us posted if you feel like it. ❤

Thank you for your video… anyone who has gone through breast cancer, like you and I have, carries that fear of it coming back pretty much daily. It is incredibly helpful to others to see you handling it with such calm and grace and courage. It is a reminder to me that when we deal with things and stay calm, nothing is as bad in reality as it sounds in the abstract and imagination… you were giving so many people a gift by keeping us all down to earth! There are so many unknowns in life and nobody knows how long we all have here on this planet. It’s so nice to see you living your full life and spending time with your family and becoming an amazing mom. Nothing should stop you from seizing every day and every opportunity. I’ve been watching your videos since I started going through cancer and I will keep watching them because I just like you! and if anyone says anything mean to you in the comments, it says a lot about them and absolutely nothing about you. It would be great if someone could read the comments for you first maybe… But it seems like you have a great way of handling it on your own either way. Sending you tons of good vibes and I hope things turn out the way you want them to. ❤️ Jodi

I just cannot believe these horrible news , I have been following you for so long and I loved that you were healthy , got married and had your baby.
I am so so sorry , I actually never believed you were going to relapse ever 😩 I can't understand how a person with history of cancer goes go the ER with that amount of pain and they discharged you without an MRI ? What the hell !
Know that even if I cannot do anything more than just pray I'll do that.

    Hi Samantha,
I’m so sorry to hear your cancer is back. I know it’s not easy to avoid certain people but you have to. Focus on getting better and use those negative comments as a reminder that you’re much better and will kick this cancer’s ass. Don’t ever let no one blur your mind, emotions and self esteem. This is only a bump on the road. I was recently diagnosed with cervical cancer and certainly understand what you’re enduring. Sending positive vibes your way. ❤

I am so sorry that you are going through this and so sorry that there are so many nasty people in the world. Always remember there are many good people who are wishing nothing but the best for you. Never doubt what inspiration you are for others. I am 63 and have just recently gone through surgery and radiation for stage 1 breast cancer and I dealt with it with a lot less courage than you are dealing with your diagnosis. You do really inspire me to meet it head on and to enjoy and appreciate life while we have it.

I'm sorry to hear the cancer returned. I hope things get better for you in whatever way possible. You're a gem and seem like a genuinely good person. I'd say it sucks when cancer happens to good people, which is true, but it pretty much sucks when it happens to anyone. I hope you're able to get some pain relief and find a lot of happy moments in each day. I will also be praying for your parents and all who love you.
