I was beginning to think this was The Empty Chair LOL. This remains one of the most beautiful pieces ever to be composed on bass. Keep up the great work, Michael!
Really nice version, he sometimes adds something different, love the variations. Gotta give it up for Zon for creating the HyperBass, this pc. Really showcases the mechanics of the bridge and tuning key levers in a genius way. ❤
♡Thank you Randy for filming this beautiful performance. i’m so grateful that Michael played his transcendent masterpiece for Ranger Bob’s memorial concert, Yosemite, October 11, 2022. MM: and i named after one my favorite books - written by American poet, e.e. cummings - although this is not a book of poetry. It’s about his experiences as an ambulance driver in WWI. The book is called The Enormous Room. i took it to mean: the world is like a single enormous room. {cummings transforms a tale of unjust incarceration into a high-energy romp and a celebration of the indomitable human spirit.} 🙌🏻The album’s closer is a very emotional complete solo bass work appropriately named The Enormous Room. Once again Manring uses harmonics with sailing fretless slides to create unmatched texture: a truly beautiful way to end the album. Review by Tapfret - Thoṅk(1994) @michaelmanring1 @rlutge

The Enormous Michael
The very last chord is a thing of beauty.
That is by far my favorite song of Michael's.
what a beautiful piece of music :-) ...and the sound of this instrument is insane! 1:53
That bass was like $11,000 20 years ago... Imagine the cost to construct that bass now... XD

Love Michael
Beautiful song, amazing composition and incredible playing to be able to play this as flawlessly as he did.

🕊Michael changes the tuning of each individual string dozens of times in this song.
I love this song!
Pure magic.
Lovely, thank you for sharing!
Maestro de maestros
Does he tune it 100 times???
Yes. That is the point. The hipshot tuners are part of the song. You cannot get that sound of key changes without detuners.
