Thanks. I'm having a blast with mine. Starting to run into some issues with syncing to other gear though. Hopefully just user error and I'll figure it out. Also starting to find modulation limitations. Wish I could modulate the sustain with the LFO, etc...
Glad you liked it. I did run into some weird clock sync issues, but I imagine that it will be fixed at some point through a firmware update. Sometimes (but not always) it would stutter about 30 seconds in and be off. If it made it past 30 seconds it would be fine... Strange...
@@braintree56 yeah that is odd tbh but will probably still invest. I’m having some issues with the tr8s at the moment with saving sound levels and projects! I’m thinking about doing a video about it this week but don’t really want to go down the realms of ranting but feel like it needs addressing tbh these products cost us a fortune at times.
Mine comes tomorrow. Pretty new to mini synth world. I really appreciate your video as the unit looks pretty daunting to figure out at first glance but couldn’t resist the many possibilities to make sounds.
Man, I love that you bought it used! I have been doing that lately and it's crazy not to. I've noticed that oftentimes people try and flex the wealth in the synth community, or fake it anyway. And it sucks because this stuff should be for everyone. And good teaching is good teaching and that's what I'll pick any day. Please keep that aspect of what you are doing. To me, the realness is refreshing.
Thanks! Yeah, there's no way I could do this if I bought all this stuff new... I buy almost all my stuff used. I also sell a lot. I really like to try things out and if I buy used, I can usually sell for what I bought it for (or maybe a little less)! I've actually sold the West Pest. :) Really appreciate the support! :)
@@braintree56 yeah man! That’s the way to go. I only started buying and selling used this past year and it’s great. With all the protections you have with Reverb and EBay it really works out well.
Thanks for this. Particularly like that you've gone under the hood and dug out all the hidden stuff. The patch bay is a complete mystery to me so good to get a handle on that!
I get that for sure. I got a west pest about a year ago too. I think it sounds great and I still have it, but I’d much rather have a modular set up. Love you videos on the subharmonicon also. Thanks for all your great video I love you channel.@@braintree56
Hi, sorry to bother you again, I wanted to ask you if the west pest sequencer can be synchronized via midi with a drum machine or other device. thank you so much
I had the west pest. But had to return it. The fold knob would cause terrible static and hissing sounds. Not due to any patching or anything either. I was not impressed.
@@braintree56 I ended up sending it back. Don't get me wrong, I loved the sound, the plucky, metallic stuff is just so slick. But I do have a couple of other boxes that serve the same purpose. I made sure to sample a lot of the sounds that I really liked from the pest first. But I think I'll wait a year or two and let Cre8Audio work all of the hardware and firmware bugs out of it. Maybe once we have firmware with whole numbers, which shouldn't be too long. I think it's on firmware 0.9 now.
@@davidwagner85 You're probably right. Hopefully firmware updates will improve it. It will be interesting to see how things go and support it gets over the next couple of years.
Viene con un adaptador Midi para enchufar en el patchbay. Puede usar eso para secuenciarlo desde un equipo externo. No lo usé mucho, pero creo que puede hacer cualquier cosa que esperarías de Midi.
👏Super test
I just got mine today and popped it in 9u case. Love it much ! Great review.

This has sold it to now great review sounds brilliant and nice price too

Great demo thx!

It's a fun little synth!

Thanks! This one sounds pretty good without any modulation patching - but keep playing with it! Patching is super fun!
Do you find yourself using the west pest one year later? If so, have you learned any tricks over that time?
Actually no... I've sold it and moved on. It was fun, but I've delved into a full modular set-up and slowly stopped using it over time.

No problem! Yes, you just have to change the clock input source and it will sync via midi.
I LOVE ! 💛
💛🐝Thanks!

That's too bad. Did you end up getting a new one or just moving on?
