Why do we use the term 'in-laws'?

Step 1: break up tribes. Catholic rules began breaking apart tribes because tribes had power and the church could not have much influence or get much money while tribes were strong. Go back to calling your family members what they are, as in Arabic: brother's brother, son's wife for clarity and to oppose this confusion.
