If you are running small business like a shop then you don't need MBA but as your business grows and becomes complex you need MBA to manage it because MBA gives detailed information about analyzing and managing more scientific and theoretical perspective to things like profit loss , financial statements and business laws human resource etc.
So moral of the story is 1. Do your MBA from top institutes with great minds ,or 2. Find a job in a start up so you can understand business very closely
But how? No one hires a fresher to work in a good company. Most of the jobs require a post graduate degree that is being mentioned on their side. Sir, first of all, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for showing me the right path. This year, I was considering joining SDMIMD Mysore for my MBA because I scored a low percentile in every mba exam and have no prior work experience. Additionally, I have a gap of 7 years after my academic journey. I was thinking of pursuing this option because many of my friends are either doing MBA or working. It seemed like my last option, but today, after your guidance, my perspective has completely changed.
Good for you, but a quick question. What will you do (having 7 years of gap). Which company will hire? I am not demotivating but MBA (from average business schools) can give decent packages which is better than sitting idle at home. If you have a job opportunity now, then it is good for you as it can provide you with work experience and also enhance your knowledge. But if you don't have any job opportunities right now, i would recommend you to do an MBA. At last, the main goal is to earn and handle our finances by ourselves and if you don't have any job opportunity, doing an MBA, if not the best, will give you a package to start your financial journey. And after getting a job you can always increase it if you have skills or gain skills. BTW, good luck for your journey.

That is why CA certification is so special. It costs meagre compared to a MBA and gives a very good salary package to a fresher and for experienced it's on a different level. So I always feel that one should be strong in their own functional field. Rise through the ladder and then do an executive MBA program from premium institutes which costs 1/3rd of full time MBA.

He made an initial assumption that the college is an IIM or ISB. Education loan is offered to students from these colleges around 8.5% in most of the banks.
I completely understand the situation, but there seems to be no other option. Whether in India or abroad, even for those pursuing graduation, people are struggling to secure jobs. Even after completing certifications, which have become very common, many individuals face significant challenges in cracking positions at big companies. This is why people aim to pursue an MBA, either in India at top colleges or abroad in reputed institutions, because companies actively recruit from these institutions, providing better placement opportunities. However, the fees for an MBA are extremely high, ranging from 15-20 lakh rupees in India to 30-40 lakh rupees or more abroad. Most individuals have no choice but to take a loan to fund their education. Whether working in India or abroad, repaying the loan becomes an unavoidable commitment. There's no way around it. If one plans to work after MBA, they need to repay the loan, and that is the reality. Instead of repeatedly suggesting people think twice, it's better to acknowledge this reality when discussing such topics in videos.
Fantastic review sir cleared a lot of my doubt. Can you please also throw some light on benefits of scoring 99 percentile in CAT or GMAT? To be precise how does it improve the thinking pattern of a candidate of this exam irrespective of the fact whether one gets in top B school or not
I have 89% in 10th and 86% in 12th or 82% in college and i am from non Engineer male background and i am belong to OBC category. My extracurricular : i am done some course like a sales funnel , demand forecasting in supply chains, marketing analytics, operation management, ChatGPT for Marketing, principle of leadership, strategic management or microsoft word, excel, powerpoint. In school: i am a head boy for a one year , winning 5 consecutive speech competition , 2 essay writing competition in school for that i am featured in newspaper , done anchoring for 3 year in every function of school, manage school events from scratch level . playing volleyball for school at lebro position. So according to this give me safr percentile for BLACKI iim , baby iim, or new iim.
@arjuntyagi5860 wo gmat me apply krke kya krega, jab use 85 percentile me category ke wajah se top colleges milega, through category it is very easy to get into top colleges, I know many of them, people have entered at 80 percentile as well in ews and ncobc at Old IIM as well
comparing your whole lifestyle with just the starting salary looks absurd to me as with time your salary is bound to increase whereas the emi remains same.
Hello sir, Recently in MBA interview interviewer asked me MBA Cost Analysis and I was not able to ans it clearly. This video is really helpful! The way explained each thing - really helpful. Thank you sir! ++Subscribed!
So much misinformation in the video, 1. The education loan if you are going to a top B-School like IIM the loan period is 15 years, which is 2x of what you just mentioned 2. Again if you look at the top 12-13 IIMs and Other B schools they have a CTC which is north of 25ish (fixed + variable) 3. While it is true that maybe you don’t learn a lot, but finding a decent job in a good profile is near to impossible even in startups without an IIM brand on your CV
@warikoocareer Okay sir, actually I am applying for pgdm 2025 and I don't have a decent score in entrance, in graduation I have 70% 10th 78% , 12th 79% I also not have such expectations in placement as I want to joint my father's business. So what you think is it a good decision to join GIBS BANGALORE ?
In IIM or IIT or IIFT or in any business school generally the average package of a candidate is equal to the two years cost of the MBA course so anybody can make that within two to three years. So just don't spread misinformation. Like in IIM the cost is average 30 lacs in old IIMs they are the average packages around 30 lacs in the new IIMs the average cost is 20 lacs and here also the average packages are also around 20 lakh in iits its 15 lacs both likewise in 10 lacs colleges the average packages are also around 10 lacs. So anyone from any college can make that in 2 to 3 years total spending MBA cost. So MBA is worth it who has that confidence to pursue it.
I am currently pursuing my degree in BA(Augmented reality and Virtual reality) which is a technology related field and i am not interested in it. I am interested in doing job like business analyst, product manager, project manager and other business related roles. Can i do mba and shift my career to business related fields???
All the things are right but the expenses you took are very much. A fresher living alone in Delhi doesn't need a 30,000 rs rental house and 15,000 rupees in household. I also lived in Gurgaon and my monthly expenses including everything was 18-21,000 rupees. Don't take a number which favors your preconceived notion. Take a realistic number. A student from the average college will not spend 30,000 on rent. Edit: Not every MBA costs you 20 Lakhs. MBA or anything you want to study, if u are interested, go for it.
You are right , I am recently graduation complete .. main soch rahi thi MBA kar lu , but sirf job lene ke liye MBA utna faydemand nahin hoga aur loan lekar aur koi are Gere college se.. financial condition itni acchi nahin Hai ... Khud ka business ho to business development karne mein bahut hi help hota hai but loan lekar aapke pass aur kuchh Paisa nahin bacha to aap survive kaise karoge, MBA ke sath Sadhvi aur bahut sare skills development karni hogi.. Middle class ke liye this is the last degree .. aajkal ke experience ke upar milte Hain just degree ek level tak simit hai.. 2-3 sal bad Shayad degree bhi Kam nahin honge it is my opinion sir.

Point is fees : average package is 1:1. Or more Then it is worth it. In colleges you hve mentioned it is not worth. Maybe irma you can try but rest are trash.
Shocked to see such advice coming from a towering personality like Mr.Ankur. There are ample ways to cut unwanted expenses, such as avoiding the temptation to invest time and money in gadgets, parties, lavish lifestyles, and more. Let your savings be not at the cost of acquiring the degree. Once you become an MBA, you can make a decent income by working smart. Make use of the Gen AI wave and start a side hustle. Spend time judiciously. Having an MBA may not give you additional powers, but the lack of it (a PG degree) will haunt you for the rest of your life. Don't miss the college/university experience. This is my humble request.
I'm a recent graduate from a tier 3 engineering college haven't been able to get a good job hence gave cat haven't scored good enough to get into top colleges like iims etc hence looking at tier 2 -3 colleges i wanted to do mba in low cost but it isnt possible now should i go for tier2 -3 colleges or take a gap year an study for cat again any of your responses will be great help
Tier 2 will be good like kj somaiya, NMIMS, etc. Other than that don't go lower than this ballpark. If you have the luxury to take one more gap year you should definitely take but study like anything.
Despite of taking a gap year it will be much better you do your prep while working because it will evaluate your profile and give you a lot of insights about how corporate world works, you will also learn some practical skills, like how to prepare for interviews, how to make good resume, communication skills, interpersonal skills, technical skills etc
IT WILL depend on your finanncial situation bro, Situation 1- You are lower middle class/ews category 1st ask yourselves if you take any job right now assuming u get it quick enough (3-4 months)and have a basic salary like 4 lpa and after 3 years project what your salary will be.. If its more than 10 lpa , then doing an MBA does no make any sense unless its from a top institute like memtioned in the video, since you are also wastingyour 2 years plusplacement time in MBA. Situation 2- On the other hand if you are rich and have no responsibilities( and u get a laon) you can get that MBA degree from a Tier 2 college Tier 1 if you are smart and get all benefit from the neywork of college, then it wont matter anyways as you will not be focused on salary and placements if you are rich , if not get any job you can and start your life. Life does not let you take many risks so take them as young as possible, dont mess it up.
Top minds don't come for MBA dude. Top minds of this country go to IITs, MBBS, UPSC or, open their own businesses without waiting for degrees. The lot that comes for MBA is usually the ones who considered it as a back-up option.

Hey Ankur, idk if you will read this. What’s your thoughts on a part time/executive MBA from top 10 colleges like XLRI? Life unfortunately does not allow some of us to do a full time MBA, but we don’t want to miss out on placements and such. Just want to know your input on this path, or would you recommend some other way of stepping up the career? Been working for 4-5 years now without significant success, I live in a tier 2 city
If you are already working, have a decent salary, and not able to break into high salary, then yes, otherwise big no, I saw a person who did executive online mba from IIM Kozhikode, but got into a startup which paid salary like 20-25 lakhs, just because, The company might have not bothered to actually check which kind of mba he or she did, might not happen with everyone, but you can try faking
@ I do come into the first category, the salary is decent for 2nd tier city but not enough (let’s just say I am not touching 50K per month yet). I am so confused as to what do I do to get a significant hike, and an MBA placement seems to be the only way
@ also I cannot manage to stop working for full time MBA, a part time/executive MBA would allow me to continue my remote job and keep supporting my family
@@mohit3736 how will you afford MBA fees? loan? @@mohit3736 and, if you are talking about certificate courses, which are like 1-2 lakhs, what will you say ,in your interviews, you did a certificate course, from a top colleges, in my opinion, thy have zero value

Sorry to say education loan interest rates in India are from 11 to 15%, it is definitely not 8.5%
He made an initial assumption that the college is an IIM or ISB. Education loan is offered to students from these colleges around 8.5% in most of the banks.
I have father's business i wanna run it at higher scale that's y i want to do an MBA as simple as that
Precise and clear thoughts
Economy down ya market recession ho toh kuch matter ni karta jobs depends on demand of market not on institute
But Most of those companies do not prefer any person who does not have MBA degree
Fantastic review sir cleared a lot of my doubt. Can you please also throw some light on benefits of scoring 99 percentile in CAT or GMAT? To be precise how does it improve the thinking pattern of a candidate of this exam irrespective of the fact whether one gets in top B school or not
Best topic ❤❤❤❤
ln today's time the cost of MBA from ISB is 40 L plus and from an IIM is easily above 30 Lakhs .
99 brother, nothing less
85+ percentile, with 60-70 percentile in each section
Go for both gmat and cat
More chances by applying international via gmat then CAT
Rest luck
@arjuntyagi5860 wo gmat me apply krke kya krega, jab use 85 percentile me category ke wajah se top colleges milega, through category it is very easy to get into top colleges, I know many of them, people have entered at 80 percentile as well in ews and ncobc at Old IIM as well
@@atifimtiyaznazeer bhai baby iim or new k liye bhi same hai

comparing your whole lifestyle with just the starting salary looks absurd to me as with time your salary is bound to increase whereas the emi remains same.

So much misinformation in the video,
1. The education loan if you are going to a top B-School like IIM the loan period is 15 years, which is 2x of what you just mentioned
2. Again if you look at the top 12-13 IIMs and Other B schools they have a CTC which is north of 25ish (fixed + variable)
3. While it is true that maybe you don’t learn a lot, but finding a decent job in a good profile is near to impossible even in startups without an IIM brand on your CV

Can you make a vdo between the difference of MBA and pgdm? For a person who don't have any least of idea about business....
Please sir 🙏
Not much difference. Usually colleges or universities that cannot award a degree give out a PGDM
@warikoocareer Okay sir, actually I am applying for pgdm 2025 and I don't have a decent score in entrance, in graduation I have 70% 10th 78% , 12th 79%
I also not have such expectations in placement as I want to joint my father's business.
So what you think is it a good decision to join GIBS BANGALORE ?
Great video
Good video❤❤
Sir plz make video on reality of chartered accountancy
Abhi to mba karne ka decide Kiya tha aur ye video bana diya aapne 😭
How many of you want a full book on biography of Ankur Warikoo sir. Please like the comment👍 to let me know....
I am currently pursuing my degree in BA(Augmented reality and Virtual reality) which is a technology related field and i am not interested in it. I am interested in doing job like business analyst, product manager, project manager and other business related roles. Can i do mba and shift my career to business related fields???
Sir I am persuing mba in hospital and healthcare management, is it good to move forward in this field?
Which college?
I asked many mba,bcom guys
They want to work in equity,vc firms
But don't know basic knowledge
All the things are right but the expenses you took are very much. A fresher living alone in Delhi doesn't need a 30,000 rs rental house and 15,000 rupees in household.
I also lived in Gurgaon and my monthly expenses including everything was 18-21,000 rupees.
Don't take a number which favors your preconceived notion. Take a realistic number. A student from the average college will not spend 30,000 on rent.
Edit: Not every MBA costs you 20 Lakhs. MBA or anything you want to study, if u are interested, go for it.
I love the way he said lono🥲🥲not loans😂😂
best advice i ever got for shoud i do mba or not , thank u so much sir
Thanks sir...this video helps a lot
Golden days of MBA have already been gone
I think comparing the IIM fees to the average placement of general MBA colleges is a little unfair. it should be compared to the placements of IIM
true that
Nice vedio
You are right , I am recently graduation complete .. main soch rahi thi MBA kar lu , but sirf job lene ke liye MBA utna faydemand nahin hoga aur loan lekar aur koi are Gere college se.. financial condition itni acchi nahin Hai ... Khud ka business ho to business development karne mein bahut hi help hota hai but loan lekar aapke pass aur kuchh Paisa nahin bacha to aap survive kaise karoge, MBA ke sath Sadhvi aur bahut sare skills development karni hogi.. Middle class ke liye this is the last degree .. aajkal ke experience ke upar milte Hain just degree ek level tak simit hai.. 2-3 sal bad Shayad degree bhi Kam nahin honge it is my opinion sir.
I am ca finalist 😊. A ca is total business solution provider.

Going through same bro
Despite of taking a gap year it will be much better you do your prep while working because it will evaluate your profile and give you a lot of insights about how corporate world works, you will also learn some practical skills, like how to prepare for interviews, how to make good resume, communication skills, interpersonal skills, technical skills etc
,fm's,delhi school of economics , jbims
IT WILL depend on your finanncial situation bro,
Situation 1- You are lower middle class/ews category 1st ask yourselves if you take any job right now assuming u get it quick enough (3-4 months)and have a basic salary like 4 lpa and after 3 years project what your salary will be..
MBA just gives you connections with top minds. You get a high value network from tier 1 colleges.
Top minds don't come for MBA dude. Top minds of this country go to IITs, MBBS, UPSC or, open their own businesses without waiting for degrees.
The lot that comes for MBA is usually the ones who considered it as a back-up option.
@@sourajyoti7199 Actually iitians also go for it
@@sourajyoti7199 So you're saying Sundar Pichai, Satya Nadela, Bill Gates and many more had MBA from ivy leagues as a back up plan.
What about 10 to 15% increment per year in salary

Can you also tell about MIM abroad or MBA which is best ??
Most unfiltered opinion

Hey Ankur, idk if you will read this.
What’s your thoughts on a part time/executive MBA from top 10 colleges like XLRI?
Life unfortunately does not allow some of us to do a full time MBA, but we don’t want to miss out on placements and such. Just want to know your input on this path, or would you recommend some other way of stepping up the career? Been working for 4-5 years now without significant success, I live in a tier 2 city
If you are already working, have a decent salary, and not able to break into high salary, then yes,
otherwise big no,
I saw a person who did executive online mba from IIM Kozhikode, but got into a startup which paid salary like 20-25 lakhs,
just because, The company might have not bothered to actually check which kind of mba he or she did,
might not happen with everyone,
but you can try faking
@ I do come into the first category, the salary is decent for 2nd tier city but not enough (let’s just say I am not touching 50K per month yet).
I am so confused as to what do I do to get a significant hike, and an MBA placement seems to be the only way
@ also I cannot manage to stop working for full time MBA, a part time/executive MBA would allow me to continue my remote job and keep supporting my family
@@mohit3736 how will you afford MBA fees? loan? Executive MBAs , as far as I know from top colleges, neither they have placement, nor they are affordable, 15-20 lakhs, I think, you can research for yourself,
and there is no placement for all these courses,
how will you pay off loan, if you fail to get a good job, and atleast, for 2-3 years, you should not do this, because, even top colleges are not able to place everyone with good pay right now
@@mohit3736 and, if you are talking about certificate courses, which are like 1-2 lakhs, what will you say ,in your interviews, you did a certificate course, from a top colleges,
in my opinion, thy have zero value
what if one dont have to take huge only and only 20-30% of the total fees? is it a good decision to do MBA than??
