Sweet! Gonna try this on some IKEA string lights that I've had for literal years (still in the box). Worst case, I don't use something I haven't been using 🥴🥲 hahaha. Thanks for the video!!
I converted my adapter to a usb port for my led lights it works but the voltage is very low for some reason even tho i used 5.4 volt and 2.3 amps on a brick
The video is less than a year old lol. Most power banks are 5 Volts and the amps can vary, so as long as your barber device is 5 Volts and the power bank can supply enough amps, then yes it should work.
What about the usb im trying to use? It has TEN different wires, 3 of which actually have 2 more wires inside of them, so technically 13. And of course cannot find out much beyond a ridiculous data sheet
Wow I've never seen a USB with 10 different wires before. I guess as long as you can find the positive and negative wires it should still work, but I can't say for sure!
Dumb question but I just got my woodburning tool which is a two prong connected to the actual tool. Would it be possible to change the two prong into a usb cable? I'm trying to connect the tool with my portable power bank so I can burn outside since I can't burn inside the dorms.
Not a dumb question at all. Is the two prong part like a big adapter box like the one in this video or is it just a simple plug? If it's a simple plug, then you wouldn't be able to convert it to USB because that means that it's meant to run off of the 120V from a wall outlet and not the 5V that your power bank likely supplies. On the other hand, if it's a wall adapter, you can check the output voltage and amperage listed on it and see if it is 5V. If it is, then that means you can convert it to USB and it should work with your power bank, as long as the amperage is below what your power bank can put out. Let me know if you have any questions, and thanks for watching!
Hi! I am trying to do the opposite. Recently moved to South America and brought with me my favorite reading lamp from the US that is 110v. The lamp says 7v .43a are you aware of other charging devices that I could use for it? Since my phone charger is also just 5v
You can buy adaptor/convertors online. You don’t want to make your own voltage convertor and they’re cheap online and can be used in pretty much every country with any input/output which is great for traveling
7v is kind of a weird voltage so I don't know of any charging devices off the top of my head that use it. But as Alessandro said, I'm sure there are adapters available for purchase online.
The simplest answer I can give is look at what the voltage says on the back of your clippers. If it says 5V then you can use a phone charger (a 5V phone charger, which most are). If it does not say 5V on the back of your clippers, then you can't use a phone charger.
Is it safe to wrap the wires in electrical tape and then use the shrink wrap to sleeve both wires? I don't have a soldering iron unfortunately but would love to convert my toothbrush charger to USB.
Yeah that should be fine. I don't think soldering is completely necessary so twisting the wires together well should be fine. You can cover them with electrical tape or heat shrink, they are interchangeable. The main thing is you don't want the positive and negative wires to touch. Let me know if you're able to successfully convert your toothbrush charger!
Check with multimeter..sometimes black is hot and red it ground
That is definitely good to know, thanks. I've pinned your comment.
This comment is 4 years old but it legit just saved me!
Great video. I needed this to convert my vhf radio charger out at sea.
Pretty smart & cool, very well explained! Cheers
That helps with the project I'm working on thanks dude
Can I connect the usb head directly to like a power bank?
I'm going to try it on my microwave.
Haha.
What if the charger just says 120 volts and 1.4 watts? does that mean it only needs a .012 amp charger?
Sweet! Gonna try this on some IKEA string lights that I've had for literal years (still in the box). Worst case, I don't use something I haven't been using 🥴🥲 hahaha. Thanks for the video!!
Thank you, this video was helpful 🙏🏼
Glad it was helpful!
I converted my adapter to a usb port for my led lights it works but the voltage is very low for some reason even tho i used 5.4 volt and 2.3 amps on a brick
i have a thing if i dont have the same adapter i plug the adapter to a smart plug and you can change what adapters you want to use
This video is old but would this work off a power bank for mobile barbers who might want to charge on the go in their barber cases?
The video is less than a year old lol. Most power banks are 5 Volts and the amps can vary, so as long as your barber device is 5 Volts and the power bank can supply enough amps, then yes it should work.
Yo this is dope!
How can i convert a pług for AC outlet to USB to connect to my bycycle hub dynamo for phone charging?
What about the usb im trying to use? It has TEN different wires, 3 of which actually have 2 more wires inside of them, so technically 13. And of course cannot find out much beyond a ridiculous data sheet
Wow I've never seen a USB with 10 different wires before. I guess as long as you can find the positive and negative wires it should still work, but I can't say for sure!
What about doing this in reverse ?

Can i do it without soldering?
I got a clipper with just the cord that plugs in to it, but nothing to plug the flat end into. Could I use a phone charger?

@@canifixitofficial Thank you, lol, that helps me alot.
No problem man, I'm here to help!

P.S. Tourist shops sell adaptors....
Yes, but a video of me going down to the store to buy an adapter wouldn't be nearly as entertaining lol
@@canifixitofficial Hahahahahahahaha! Good answer
Nice
Song?
Can a black and green be connected together?
Green wires are for data, so no. Should be black to black in most cases.
Charge it from a powerbank
As long as it's the right voltage and amps, sure.
