เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 31 ก.ค. 2019
What do you do when something you own breaks and stops working? The vast majority of people would throw it away and buy a new one, but not me.
I enjoy taking things apart and seeing how they work. I love problem solving, troubleshooting, and thinking of creative ways to fix things. That's what this channel is all about.
Whether you have a broken device and need help fixing it or you just enjoy watching someone fix things and work on electronics projects, I hope you'll stick around and subscribe. Hopefully you'll find my videos entertaining and learn a thing or two while watching as well.
It's my hope that the next time something breaks in your home, you'll think twice before throwing it away and think to yourself, "Can I fix it?"

Let me know in the comments if this video helped you make your very own charger for your device!
Converting a Wii Sensor Bar to Using a Wall Outlet
มุมมอง 15K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Can I Fix It is back with another Wii sensor bar video! This time I take a broken Wii sensor bar, remove the broken cord, and replace it with a wall adapter. Not only can you use this method to replace a broken cord, this is also very useful for those that are using their Wii with a projector. This allows you to have the Wii at the back of the room by the projector and the sensor bar plugged in...

The charging stand used in this video is made by Energizer, but this fix can also work ...
Converting a Foreign AC Adapter to USB
มุมมอง 44K4 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video, I take a charger that only works on foreign plugs and convert it to a USB charger so that it can be used in any country. In this case, it is a charger for an Argentinian hair clipper made by GA.MA; however, you can follow this same process for just about any device, as long as you make sure to match the voltage and current (which is all explained in the video).

This is so cool. Thank you for making this video!!!!!
thank you)) i will try to do it, very usefull)
Great video, thank you! I don't think I'll use electrical tape though - it will go sticky after a while and looks tatty.
How do I fix it without soldering
Hello ( can I fix it ) can you make a video That fix a faded screen( tamagotchi) please my tamas screen is faded😅
It actually worked! First it didn't work because i didn't tape each wire, i taped them together, and i thought it was fake! Until i rewatched the video and saw that you taped each wire and i just taped them together and the copper wires touched. So i took of the electrical tape and taped the each wires. And guess what? IT WORKS!
Wonderful, thanks a lot!! It fixed my issue as well!
Glad to hear it!
I was gona solder wires directly to the battery and then hook the wires up to my DS Lite. This is a much better solution think ill do this instead XD
Update, I actually just took a USB extender cord and removed one end and then cut open that end and just resoldered the pins right there instead of splicing the wire. Works perfectly also sanded down the plastic to make it fit better in the SP port.
My Ti-83 Plus, was linking perfectly to a new TI 84 Plus SE, and used to copy all my programs there, but last time just showed that "there is an error on xt? I don't know what to do.
Can i do it without soldering?
You could use a wago connector

Can you help me find the part number for this piece on a 2021 Chevy Malibu LS 1.9L on that website please
The part name and number are in the video description👍
I can find it on digikey what’s the part called
Check the video description for the DigiKey part information👍
My 2022 Chevy Malibu was doing this. Resorted to the shake & bake method😂. Finally got tired of it and fixed it. Thanks for saving me money!
Hi! I have the SAME The Batman game from my childhood that I could use help fixing! Do you take requests or no?
If you're talking about sending me something to fix, then yes. I'd be happy to take a look at it! What seems to be the problem with it?
@@canifixitofficial the light that turns red when powering on when you flip it “on” it turns red then slowly fades away. Sometimes has a buz sound on the screen too.
Does the game show on the screen at all or is it just black? Does the music play or just the buzzing sound?
@@canifixitofficial just buzzing. No gameplay or other sound.
Gotcha, well like I said, I would be happy to take a look at it if you want to send it to me to fix. You can email me at canifixitofficial@outlook.com to coordinate that.
Just ordered mine. Thank you for making this video as I do not want to pay $100 dollars for no reason
What makes you think the new switch will be any better than the old one? I'll bet you $3.42 that your new switch fails after 10-20k miles just like the GM pos.
I see your point, but anecdotally this new switch has lasted over 3 years so far and a lot more than 20k miles. If it does fail eventually, I'll make sure to make a follow-up video where I install the GM recommended jumper wire that is apparently a permanent fix👍
Is this something that would or should be covered under powertrain warranty?
Mine was. They replaced the whole shifter. That was 2 years ago and now the problem has come back with the new shifter.
Yeah unfortunately that seems to happen pretty often. They replace the whole shifter, but the new shifter comes with that same faulty switch🤦
Saved the fucking day for me I paid 50$ for a SP that looks new and the guy didn’t have the charger so all night I been tripping out if it works or not the charger is gonna take 8 days to get here and this got it to turn on and charge
Nice dude, glad I could put your mind at ease haha
Will this work on 2021 Malibu?
My 2022 Malibu is doing the same thing! So frustrating. Ofc it happens when the warranty is out.
It's super easy fix. You don't even have to replace the switch. Just bend the tab down on the original switch and that will fix it
Can't guarantee anything, but I would imagine it might work on newer models. I would open it up and see if that switch is there, and if so it's worth a shot replacing it.
Bending the tab down can work as a temporary fix, but I've heard from people who have done it that the problem will come back after a little while. Replacing the switch is a more permanent fix
@@canifixitofficial I bent the tab down and it worked for a year and a half. I'm going to replace the switch and install the wiring harness since the problem has comeback.
I bent the tab in mine, so far so good. Time will tell, but I don’t plan on keeping the car much longer.
I want to try this without replacing…the tab you’re referring to, is it where the blue button was? The part when he said it’s supposed to hit it when switched to park?
Yep, that's what they are talking about. It's the metal piece that comes down to make contact with the button. Bending that down a little can help in a pinch and might buy you some time before the problem returns.
The burning off the excess insulation was was worked for me, thanks 4 years later. My girlfriend who is nostalgic is super pleased! I just scraped off the black between my fingertip and my nail and; voila!
HI I ordered the new switch and i want to follow the steps since i received it today my question is what is the thing u used to connect the wires to the new switch and how did u removed the wires in the first place form the old switch pls I cant proceed unless I got ur feedback
I used a soldering iron and some solder. If you have never soldered before, I would recommend watching some tutorial videos on TH-cam first.
Brooooooo, i bought that soldering iron and guess what i did it all as u mention in the video now tested my car its working im sooo soooo happy broooo thanks a lot now u have a new fan from Kuwait 🇰🇼
8:06 Man This Music Takes Me Back So Many Memories
Help me, I already bought everything new, but it still doesn't do anything. I also bought (harness 84733196) and (GMC 84955381) and it doesn't do anything. Who can help me please? I've been without a car for 2 weeks.
Where did you get the switch
I ordered it from DigiKey. The part number is in the description👍
can you fix a tamagotchi that won’t turn on?
I would certainly love to try. Do you have one you want to send me?😁
Best. Video. Ever. Thank you so much!
Thanks for watching!
Do I need to cut off the electricity from the battery when doing this operation?
nope
Nope, I didn't in the video.
GM would replace the whole shifter assembly with the same crappy switch. I fixed it first by bending that little tab, which lasted about a year, then I fitted a little piece of tubing over the shifter pin and that seems to have done the trick. But if that eventually fails, your solution seems to be the best even though it costs big bucks!!
bending the tab is good, but also add some 3 in 1 machine oil into the switch (blue part). Should keep it going forever. Fixed mine a month ago this way and no problems so far.
I had this same exact issue in my 2020 and the dealer I bought the car from charged me over $500 to fix it. This is what motivated be to start doing my own maintenance on my vehicles.
i was thinking about this, it didn't look like the original piece was broken or damaged, just poorly made. adjusting it to be more "responsive" when its shifted into park seemed like an even easier method. Thanks for confirming that for me
Why does this one look different from mine
R there different ones I have a black wii no idea what I need lights on the sensor don't work remotes work but lag or freeze
You might have an aftermarket one? Mine is an official Nintendo sensor bar. Not sure if there are different official models, but there are aftermarket ones that have slightly different configurations (less LEDs, etc.)
The problem will be back in 3-5 years without also adding an in-line jumper harness. GM part #84733196 It has some sort of resistor in-line that reduces current rush when parking button is depressed, that was causing a small amount of carbon to build up on switch contacts.
Yeah, I found out about that solution after I had already done this fix. If this new switch fails (still going strong for now), I'll do a follow-up video where I add that in-line jumper harness👍
@canifixitofficial i like the conversation about this. I'm going through it right now and got to bending the metal but the alert came back today. Now I know the final fix thanks to this!
My 2018 Malibu was doing this intermittently and when I went to trade it in the dealer (trying to knock down the trade in price) told me this was a $1k repair. It is actually easier than depicted here in that no 'prying' device is needed (it can also scratch the console). Just pull out the "change pocket" at the back of the console and pull the console up from the hole. Everything else is the same. Tough to solder only because the part and wire is so small. I timed the whole procedure and it took me 10 minutes and 34 seconds beginning to end.
Thank you for the video! The guy in the other videos replaced the whole shifter! And does it work on my 2019 LT
@@alaaadawee3848 From what I've researched, the fix should be the same for all Malibus from 2016 to 2019 so it should work on a 2019 LT! If anything you could open it up and check to make sure that switch is there before you order a new one.
Thanks! This helped me fix my Tamagotchi Keitai
Bandai just announced that they're re-releasing the Tamagotchi Connection and this shell design has been "updated" as one of the shell designs for the Japanese market. It's iconic.
but can you do a video to fix a different glitch? when putting shifter into manual mode then pressing those 2 top buttons on the top of the shifter, it doesn't want to stay in that manual mode. it goes back to regular drive mode even though the shifter is all the back in manual mode. can this be fixed relatively easily?
you lost me at soldering. lol
Can I half bake it? Great video young man
Very informative video. I've repaired a variety of different things in my time but I have yet to work on any TI calculators. Very nice!
