16:20 For those wondering: this style of motel is meant for lovers who drive in together in a car (or taxi) and not for those who simply walk-in. This explains why the prices are like that. It's meant for very short stays. You drive in, do your thing, and then leave. It is also why the reception looks like that. You transact with them thru the window of your car much like a drive-thru McDonalds. That is also why the ground floor is "empty". It is meant to be a garage for your car. You do the deed at the second floor. I... umm... learned this from a friend. 😆 24:20 Impressive how Filipino kids can conduct an English conversation quite well. One of the realest vloggers on TH-cam. It’s a blessing to share Ali, and so you’re abundantly blessed! Watching from Kenya! I’m subbing right now and should be in Manila, few weeks from now God willing!
Hi Ali, I've been all over the Philippines over the last 30 years, and my first experience of cockroaches was on my very first visit, but it wasn't in a poor low cost hotel, I found them on the 6th floor of the Hilton hotel Roxas Blvd, Manila! great friendly kids, most Filipino people are so friendly 😊
Im touched and cried when you give 500 to a lady , i can see in her eyes the gratefulness. Thank you Ali . God Bless you more ❤ And i love the end of this video 🤭💋
Hi Ali! I just wanted to drop by and say thank you for taking us along on your incredible hotel journey, from the fancy ones to the budget options. You're so brave and adventurous! I found the Angkas transportation segment fascinating too. I wouldn't mind giving it a try myself, haha! Seeing you make that driver so happy by giving more than he was making was heartwarming. Someday, I hope to join you in trying out all the street foods in the Philippines. And your generosity in tipping is truly admirable. Watching your videos always brings me joy and it feels like I'm traveling with you. Can't wait to see what exciting adventures await you next!

You know, bro, I just watched your vlog for the first time today, and you showed a characteristic of a Filipino: companionship. Getting along with people, especially those you don't know well, is a good example. You are very generous, especially to the candy seller grandma, and the Joyride rider. I am also a joyride rider, and we work very hard. The tip you gave is a big help because we earn 1,000 to 1,500 pesos for 8-12 hours. The tip you give will really make the rider go home immediately. Hi Ali! I've been watching a few of your videos. Thanks for showing us how much you enjoy the Philippine Islands. Those kids were really sweet to walk with you all the way to the hotel & were quite intuitive in asking their questions. Speaking of hotel...no way mate would I ever stay at that place! The cockroaches alone were a huge deterrent! You should've told them to bomb the room first then change all the sheets in front of you before settling in for the night. The elderly lady brought tears to my eyes honestly. You're a very generous & kind hearted person for giving more money than you need to. Bless you for doing that & keep up the good work. These motels are not necessarily for prostitutes. Some couples have children at home and they need a quiet place to have fun. Or this could be a short “vacation” for the couple. Or boyfriends and girlfriends that still live with their parents and they need a place to have “fun” also. There’s a reason why the Philippines is one of the fastest growing population in Asia.😍🙂 Thanks for a very fascinating video tour.
I was going to comment this as well. I am Canadian with a Filipino partner and we have a 5-year-old son. We often stay at the Sogo when we come to PH and have an early flight out the next day. It's clean and affordable to stay for a few hours.

You're lucky to get to try those filipino breads ... thay're our all time favorites ..honestly those breads from the bakeries in the streets are tastier compared to the ones sold in malls or restaurants. Because they still use the old recipe and simple ingredients that makes the delicious. Nice video. Keep being nice to the locals and you'll earn a lot of good memories. Hey Ali, Hahaha, I was in Mandaluyong visiting my wife and In Laws from mid May to the end of June. We were out with relatives going to Qiuapo Church in Manila and drove through the area you're in looking for the cheap motels just after you got off the JoyRide. It actually was an interesting area. I liked the character of the buildings, but it definitely had a seedy side to it. I only got to see it from inside the Van, but it was very obvious during the daytime exactly what kind of an area that is in the nighttime. I watched a few videos of your's in Tondo and some other places in Manila in the last few days. Thank you for bringing the Philippines to more people online. The country needs more visitors showing how beautiful the country and Filipinos are. Salamat po Kuya Ali!

Hi Ali, I really appreciate your videos! If you wish to stay in a cheap hotel you might wanna bring some moth balls (Alcamphor in Tagalog) you can buy them in groceries. You put them under your bed and windows of the motel even in the bathroom it keep bugs and cockroaches away .They don't like the smell of it . If you are not sensitive to menthol-like scent you might wanna try it. it costs only $1 per pack. I bring them with every time I travel. It will sanitize the room. You can also request for the hotel to sanitize or spray some disinfectants before your stay :) ingat

Disagree. A decision must be made who is his audience. Not interested in hearing a prince struggling to connect. Life is more than big tips.
Only recently watching your videos from the U.S. Your genuine adventuress attitude towards the people, food and cultures of the places you visit keeps me tuned in. But, your kind gesture towards the old lady in this video shows us your wonderful heart. I travel with "Ali" vicariously through you my brother in your videos, Thank you for what you do!!!
Thank you for watching! Glad I’ve warm your heart ❤️

I can’t believe you just walked around the streets of Sta.Mesa, with the fact that you don’t know where you were.. where you are goin’.. you don’t even know the people you are talking to.. my gosh! You’re so lucky nobody took advantage of you. I admire your courage. 😅
Your vlog gives an newbie insight into what you can get for your money from higher end hotels to bargain budget motels. The food looks so delicious and your interactions with the locals is beautiful.

Those kids are so helpful and kind. Kudos to them ❤
As they should! Glad I’ve met those kids.
smart kid...

Ali you are so kind and giving god bless your humbleness towards others. Some other travel vlogs are such cheap skates and bargains for everything. It means nothing to these vlogs but to this hard working people it means a lot. Thank you Ali for your endless support to these people you come across every day. I'm sure your kindness will be rewarded.
Humility not humbleness mangmang
Ali, that’s the attitude of us Filipinos. We always want to give back the love. That sweet lady wants to show gratitude by giving you more of what she have cause she feels like you have given her more than enough. Thank you for making her day. It may be a small thing to you but that is so much for the hardworking lady ❤️ PS this is why my notification bell is on for your channel 🙌🫡
Glad I made her day better. She deserved it!

I hope you will be given many more blessings, and I am sure that your subscribers will increase if you continue vlogging like that. Be careful when vlogging, and God bless you.
You don’t only show the luxuries of life in a foreign land. You’re balanced, flexible and down to earth. Thank you for showing the simplest things in life. You’re one of the few good men. Kudos!
Hi Ali I'm happy that you have a new vlog.Your such a very generous man. Keep up the good works. God bless you.
Economic disparities in the Philippines. Those 10 year old boys seem to be well schooled and smart as well. Thanks for being generous to those in need. You are now experiencing the true living conditions here. I really enjoyed the video. It was a well rounded content ranging from food, cost of living, disparities in different ways and friendliness. Enjoy the Islands Ali.

Hey Ali,
Hahaha, I was in Mandaluyong visiting my wife and In Laws from mid May to the end of June.
