no wonder her wife achieve so much at her age, she is a very humble person and she still remember her hometown and still act like a local, this is when you travel a lot, youll realize that there is no place like home, makes me more proud to be bicolana
She wrote down so many dreams, actually put her mind to it, and made them come true...that is what's so beautiful. The only thing worse than starting something and failing...is not starting something. Following your dreams is an exhausting, draining effort, but the rewards are well worth it all. Love what you do and do what you love. Don't listen to anyone else who tells you not to do it. You do what you want, what you love. Imagination should be the center of your life. What an absolutely stunning place Bicol is! And I love the fact they embrace spice to the point, they even made it into ice cream (with coconut, not vanilla)...typically ice cream is a way to remedy spice, but I bet the people who created Sili ice cream were like "SIKE! TOO BAD!" 😂So ube is different from taro! Ube is purple yam, while taro is a different species called Colocasia esculenta. Those tricycles remind me of the jitneys when I lived in Jersey City for a few years. We took them to Newport Centre mall all the time because they were way more frequent than the NJ Transit buses, plus it had a sense of community as its main demographic were Latinos as the jitneys were Latino-owned and operated. Jersey City also has lots of Filipinos, I first discovered Jollibee there!

I was born in the Phillipines, but I grew up in Northern California. Proud to be an American, but I'm also proud to be a Filipino because our culture and country is one of the best in the world and everyone who encounters Filipinos knows how friendly and humble they are. If anyone has a bucket list, the Phillipines is a must visit country and you will see that even though the common folks there have little money, they are probably happier than most because of the core values are strong (family and respect). Congratulation Drew!
you got a very admirable fiance. no hypocrisy, no arte, not feeling artista, sosyal or mayaman kind of thing. She's very down to earth, a real one. No matter how far she's been, she still acts the very same way she did as a bikolana. thats very admirable.
I absolutely agree. There are some housewives (of senior westerners) jn a certain place here who are little Cinderellas but dressing up in public feeling Hollywood celebs!!!
My favorite part was Deanna reading her list of 100 things she wanted to accomplish. So beautiful to see how many goals she has in only 10 years. Like that is a long time but also so short at the same time.
Drew, I admire you for appreciating the simple joys and the sense of community in the hometown of Deanna. It reminds me of my childhood trips to the respective hometowns of my father (in Dumanjug, Cebu) and mother (in Carigara and Tanauan, Leyte). You and Deanna are a joy to watch. I wish you both all the love and happiness in the world! And wherever you may go, may your days be filled with love, joy and positive energy.

i love it when she says, " Its not in my vocabulary to give up." that 's typically what every filipinos men/women who works abroad brings with them. one of the main reason that keeps the philippines afloat, economically. we put faith and hope to our Lord Jesus Christ, that He will bless us, and would never abandons us --no matter what. please keep it coming.
Really enjoyed this video, as it shows the reality of travel and tourism rather than the rushed travel blogs we are use to seeing on TH-cam. the Philippines is such a beautiful place that I have always wanted to visit and seeing this visit has only made me want to go more. Thank you for the content.
The reason why Filipino spaghetti is sweeter: It is usually made from tomato sauce sweetened with brown sugar and banana ketchup! Banana ketchup was invented during WWII when there was a shortage of tomatoes but plenty of bananas. Combine the two scenarios, and you get the solution of a yellow-brown banana sauce mixed with spices and vinegar dyed red as a substitute for tomato ketchup (and it's delicious). The genius behind this, Maria Orosa, already came up with so many innovations (including 700 recipes) like this one from freezing mangoes to the palayok oven (which enabled families without electricity to bake) to combat the country's malnutrition, which she returned to the Philippines to do in 1922 after rejecting a job offer at the Washington State government. And she was a leading member of the resistance against Japan. If it wasn't for her, thousands of Filipinos and Americans alike would've died of malnutrition. Since then, banana ketchup became a popular condiment of choice for Filipinos. And the sliced hot dogs were added as part of American influence. It's like Italy and the US got married and adopted a Filipino kid
You are lucky having her in your life. She’s independent, reliable, informative!! Edit: Need to add more because last part of this video im so shocked almost everyone says you are lucky same to what im thinking. Because i just notice shes really a special girl.

I hope you read this Drew. This video is really heartwarming. I remember as a child if we been good or on a Sunday after church or whatever occasion Jollibee is the go to treats for us then kids. So you picking up your nephew and bringing him to Jollibee and reminding him to be grateful to his Tita is such a pleasant thing to see. You just made memories with your nephew right there. Beautiful it reminded me a lot of my childhood in rural Nicaragua which is also very similar to the Philippines with many volcanoes, tropical beaches and a strong culture for family and religion. It also happens to be directly across the Pacific Ocean from the Philippines so weather and geography is also very similar.
This is so heartwarming. Thank you for embracing, marrying into the Filipino culture. Such a joy to see this side of our country. Deanna is also very lucky to be marrying you. Best wishes!
You sir are an incredibly lucky man. Bicolanas are battle hardened from all the volcanic eruptions, bad weather from the pacific that always hits them first, and all the chili in their cuisine. They're loyal, long-suffering and very, very generous with what they have. My girlfriend is from Bulan, Sorsogon. She's an absolute keeper.
So nice seeing the personal side of you and how much Deanna means to you! You gave us the chance to fall in love with her too. Looking forward to the wedding video!
your lucky to have her. there is a saying if your looking for loving wife, look a girl who loves her parents or family, that hundred percent she will take care of you and your family too.
Your so very lucky guy. Treasure your wife to be and she will treat you like her king.. good luck to both of you and stay strong. Congrats on your wedding day.
Congratulations, Drew! I’ve been watching your travels and I never imagined that you’ll end up with a Filipina with all the women you’ve met around the world! But you’re lucky to be with a Filipina! Wishing you two all the best!💐
Seeing you drinking buko juice in a plastic is amazing! I remember my childhood totally, we used to drink juice and pop or soda in a plastic! I am from down south of the philippines, Zamboanga City to which ofcourse you have been to as well....thank you for visiting our country!
I learned so much from your travel vlogs from sophisticated rich countries to countries with a lot of restrictions (Muslim countries) for some reason. Your visit to Zamboanga city (Southern part of the Phils., Mindanao) impressed me. I never realized you fall in love with a lovely Filipina and will soon be married. Congrats to both of you! May God shower you all his blessings as you start an exciting journey to building a family.
My respect to you Drew and congratulations. I can see that you will be a very good family guy and Deanna is very blessed to have you as her husband. You are the best Drew and I wish you both nothing but the best in life as you start this new chapter/ journey together as one. Thank you.
Hello Drew, Correction just for context. UBE aka Purple Yam is different from TARO. Dioscorea alata, also known as purple yam, ube (/ˈubɛ/, /ˈubeɪ/), or greater yam, among many other names, is a species of yam (a tuber). The tubers are usually a vivid violet-purple to bright lavender in color (hence the common name), but some range in color from cream to plain white. It is sometimes confused with taro and the Okinawa sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas cv. Ayamurasaki), although D. alata is also grown in Okinawa, where it is known as beniimo (紅芋). With its origins in the Asian tropics, D. alata has been known to humans since ancient times. Because it has become naturalized following its origins in Asia, specifically the Philippines, through tropical South America, and the southeastern U.S., D. alata is referred to by many different names in these regions. In English alone, aside from purple yam, other common names include ten-months yam, water yam, white yam, winged yam, violet yam, Guyana arrowroot, or simply yam.
My wife is also from Bicol. She moved here right after highschool in 2000. I met her 3 years later. Been together ever since. Best culture & food, great people.
I've seen a ton of your videos and by far, this is my favorite. I'm a little biased because I'm half Filipino and only lived in the Philippines for 3 years as a child. This really reminds me a lot of what I've experienced as a kid and the rest of the vid just shows off really well a beautiful portion of a daily life there.
You're such a lucky guy Drew finding a trully precious gem in the Philippines in the person of Dianna👍 Congratulations to you, and best wishes to Dianna😊
Hey Drew, You made my day with this video 😅😅😅, it really touched my heart and brought me to tears. Simple reason : I'm in love with a Phillipines girl too and it's still 53 days to be back there (Rosario Batangas). It feels like eternity to be back there again and enjoy her family life, her neighbors, her village, all these lovely people. I never saw any Philippines video that showed all this in a better way than you did. Thank you for all this insight of a wonderful country. Who knows may be some day we'll unexpectedly meet in any karaoke bar 😁😁😁 All the best for you and your sweet wife and all these lovely kids in the video. Martin from Germany
Nice video coming back to my old days in the Philippines. Warm people, nice environment, simple life and not too costly to live unlike here in the US. Soon i will retire there.

By far, your most personal video Drew! Good luck to both of u!
She is such a sweetheart. Seeing her cry at her dreams she has fulfilled really was touching to the heart.
Congratulations Drew and wife. Get some glimpse of our Filipino culture. Enjoy and have a blessed and wonderful married life
Beautiful it reminded me a lot of my childhood in rural Nicaragua which is also very similar to the Philippines with many volcanoes, tropical beaches and a strong culture for family and religion. It also happens to be directly across the Pacific Ocean from the Philippines so weather and geography is also very similar.
Yes Nicaragua is Philippines counterpart in Latin America
You seem so inspired making this video. One of the best videos I ‘ve seen of yours. Congrats to Drew and Deana
🤵👰♀️
This is so heartwarming. Thank you for embracing, marrying into the Filipino culture. Such a joy to see this side of our country. Deanna is also very lucky to be marrying you. Best wishes!
You have a precious wife Deanna and I love the people of the phillipines!!! I can’t wait to be there in a month ❤
Your very much welcome here
That kids smile is just unbelievable…..what a great little guy.
Mazel Tov( congratulations) May you have a lifetime of happiness together..❤️The video was so much fun…
Man, you found one real beautiful pure Filipina...❤
Thank you.
i love these people. the people of the philipines are so humble and nice.
Wow.....Drew, you are lucky to have Deanna, and her family.
The thumbnail was giving me Puerto Rico vibes, not the same but similar so I'm excited to see this video.
10:15 Hi from Alberta, Canada little dude!
You're such a lucky guy Drew finding a trully precious gem in the Philippines in the person of Dianna👍 Congratulations to you, and best wishes to Dianna😊
My dad was from Polangui, and several generations of our family. Got very nostalgic watching this video. Thank you, and congratulations!
Hey Drew,
You made my day with this video 😅😅😅, it really touched my heart and brought me to tears. Who knows may be some day we'll unexpectedly meet in any karaoke bar 😁😁😁
All the best for you and your sweet wife and all these lovely kids in the video.
Martin from Germany
I Was born in Albay, i really miss bicol....Naga city 😥😘 thanks to both of you 😊
Nice video coming back to my old days in the Philippines. Warm people, nice environment, simple life and not too costly to live unlike here in the US. Soon i will retire there.

THIS IS SO PINOOOOY & HEARTWARMING!!! I was teary-eyed several times while watching this. ❤❤❤
I love how Deanna did not forget where she lived and still embraced the culture.

You are lucky to find a sweet and good fiancé .Wishing you both love and happiness forever
I know you said this one was more personal so it's different from your other videos but please do more like this! I loved seeing Deanna's joy in "coming home", as it reminded me of all my emotions visiting my family after the pandemic. But also seeing you connect with her family / your future family was truly beautiful! ❤️
i love this story! I was from Manila and married to a Bicolona. My mother-in-law was from Polangui, "Tuscano" family. It was also a memorable experience for me when they brought me to different towns on my first visit to Bicol. Congratulations to you both..
One of the best videos you have, Drew! I've been smiling for 40minutes
