As thead guutarist for "The Refreshments" I can say that our fans are the greatest fans on planet Earth! This song is one of my absolute favorites. Tip the bottle. Bite the lime. Much Love, Brian Blush
One of my favorite memories; and I mean a moment so full that you carry it with you for your whole life was being in the desert at Rocky Point in October, of (I think it was) 2003. I was with the friend who turned me on to the Refreshments in the '90's, and RCPM started playing Nada. We were drinking warm tequila from the bottle and tearing limes open with a Swiss Army knife that was too dull to cut. About halfway through the song, it started to rain, and I swear that god was in every drop.
I vaguely remember stumbling into Long Wongs in Tempe Arizona in the early 90's and catching the Refreshments for the first time. Such a great band. FFBB album is etched intomy life, as we listened to it all the way to Rocky Point, over and over. This is my "go to" album for most all situations. It has it all.. Circus Mexicus 2020.. I will be there !!
My grandparents (In their mid 60's) were huge fans of the Refreshments and The Peacemakers. I grew up listening to them whenever I visited my grandparents every summer. I've been a fan since a small child. I'm now 26 years old and they are on every playlist I make. I visited my grandparents last summer and got the pleasure of listening to my grandpa play the guitar and sing all of his favorite songs by The Refreshments. I will ALWAYS and forever love this band and the memories their songs bring back to light.
I'm 28 and heard this song on the radio while travelling through California last year. Nobody ever heard of these guys where I come from (Brazil)... this one and Una Soda are freaking awesome!
This song is so atmospheric, like a U2 song from The Unforgettable Fire, but with a pure American Southwest feel. Takes me back to my younger days, driving alone at night in the country with the windows down and stereo turned up. Sweet, sweet melancholy, and an occasional bug splattering on the windshield...
Got this album when I was in the service back in 97 or 98 can't remember. A guy gave it to me who was gonna throw it away. He said have it. Never heard of these guys before but gave them a try and LOVED it. Started playing it in the barracks all the time, he comes up one day and says "hey you got that album I gave you, I want it back them guys are good." I said get bent. Now one of my favorite all time bands. GREAT MUSIC. Every song is pure gold. PERIOD

I remember listening to this album casually and enjoying the shit out of it. One day, I just sat is absolute wonder when I actually stopped and listened to the guitar accents on this song. Absolutely fucking genius. So effortless. So perfect. So eloquent. The phrasing and tone are just mind-blowingly astonishing. I keep trying to play this album for my friends and get them to truly appreciate what it is that I hear. It's so disheartening that they don't seem to recognize the brilliance of this music.
This is one of those songs that changed my life for the better and feel it's by far the best work of Roger Kline and the peace makers. Thanks from the bottom of my heart!
Brian Blush played lead guitar on this album. Brian had some personal issues and has been gone since RCPM started, Jim Dalton, the current lead guitar player for RCPM is a badass picker as well. This is the best band most people have never heard of....sad.
I remember yelling at Roger to play this... even though he was five feet away in my friends back yard. haha They played it and it was as awesome as always.
this song makes me want to go back to AZ real bad. I see these pics and I wonder why we ever left the most beautiful place in the world to come to Tacoma WA. I didnt come out on the top end of this deal.
Saw them play at the Electric Ballroom in Mesa in the mid 90's, one of my favorite concerts ever! RCPM plays on occasion up here on the mountain now and I plan to get to that show next time they come!
This is one of my all time favorite songs , and absolutely my fav Roger/Refreshments song. My partner and I have each chosen a "death song" and this is mine. Whoever dies first, the other promises to sing their death song...not in mourning, but in celebration. I hope I still get to listen to it many more times, as well as see them several times (I've seen them twice).

This band will become part of American History thanks for your work. I experienced the 90s explosion and old Tempe was real. This crap we deal with today is junk and anyone could produce..Trash
Nevermind I just realized the song I. Talking about was the Peacemakers. I used see them and the Refreshments live when I loved in Tempe but forgot whose song it was

Anything I tell you very well could be a lie
Been away from the living, I don't need to be forgiven
I'm just waiting for that cold black sun-cracked soul of mine
To come alive

@crazyheart1976. I got this album as a backhanded gift too. I was working in a counrty clun in NY and some DJ came to play golf gave the staff a bunch of cd's, it was my day off and this was the only CD no one wanted so they saved it for me. I had seen Banditos on some video show and was going to buy the cd but forgot about it completely until I got it fro free. I've bought it at least 5 times since either as a replacement or as a gift.
HERE'S TO LIFE!!!!
definately one of the best songs ever.
I miss home. I moved to green bay 2 months ago I want to go back to AZ
Lots of things and people I want and can't have.
If you think you miss Arizona now, wait till the bitter cold winter hits. I know what I’m talking about because I used to live in north east Illinois before moving to Arizona.
Not looking forward to it. They say it gets below zero. It was 58 and windy and 110 in az today. I had to wear a big long winter coat. Freezing my ass off. @@azcactus2008
kickass band!
The first video I've seen on TH-cam with 100% likes. Why is that? Because this song is fawking amazing.
This song reminds me of booze cruisin' on the country roads back when I was a teenager.
I play this song \ album to those not in the know and they then know :D
Roger & the Peacemakers are great.....BUT the world really lost something when the Refreshments disbanded.
This band will become part of American History thanks for your work.
I experienced the 90s explosion and old Tempe was real. This crap we deal with today is junk and anyone could produce..Trash
George Laymen this is a great song to listen to during a road trip through Arizona. Thanks for the kind words.
Yes, this is good music.
Someone on Facebook told me about this band. Pretty good.
good job, azcactus2008's channel.
great idea!
envy you. lol
Can someone please tell me the name or drop the link for their song about trying to get tequila in a bar in the south!?!?!?!
Nevermind I just realized the song I. Talking about was the Peacemakers. I used see them and the Refreshments live when I loved in Tempe but forgot whose song it was
I really like this song. What is the relation to RCPM? I don't understand?
Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers was the group it was formed after the Refreshment broke up. The new group is made up of two of the old members.
Ever since the day rhis album was released, after all these shit filled years, I still believe this is the greatest song ever
I’d argue with you if I could.
@ryn0cerous - It's now Roger Clyne and The Peacemakers. Look them up. You won't be disappointed.
Going home!
