Touring the first house I ever lived in
While on my latest trip to St. Louis the family who lives in this house invited me in to look around and shoot video. That was very nice of them

Sorry people. RCPM made me take down the audio. Copyright issues. Let them know how much you liked the stuff I posted before. I just loved the music so much, I did videos to do the music justice
Steve Miller Band "Heart Like a Wheel"

Steve Miller Band. My first try at making a slide show music video. Hope it is enjoyed. Would like constructive feedback.
I miss home. I moved to green bay 2 months ago I want to go back to AZ
Lots of things and people I want and can't have.
If you think you miss Arizona now, wait till the bitter cold winter hits. I know what I’m talking about because I used to live in north east Illinois before moving to Arizona.
Not looking forward to it. They say it gets below zero. It was 58 and windy and 110 in az today. I had to wear a big long winter coat. Freezing my ass off. @@azcactus2008
Totally Addicted to this Record, loaned to some friends, same thing...What the F...is this....couldn't stop listening to this..?.?.?.?.
I thought it was just me......I loaned this record to a friend....he brings it back,"Wow,this thing is totally Addicting"....oh,you too(I thought it was just me)?
This is sweet! Such beauty!
2024 here. One of the most underrated albums of the 90s.
As thead guutarist for "The Refreshments" I can say that our fans are the greatest fans on planet Earth! This song is one of my absolute favorites. Tip the bottle. Bite the lime. Much Love, Brian Blush
I think it’s so cool to have an actual band member leave a comment. I hope the video did this fantastic song credit. Here’s to life!
I was just jamming to the bottle and fresh horses today. Nice work man!! Love!!
Incredible guitar harmonies. I love how he feels the wind sees the lightning etc with each verse he gets closer to the storm/Mexico. Fucking poetry
Rog and the peacemakers used to come to my town every year and insaw them religiously until some jack off went and ruined it i miss seeing them. Their vibe was so great
Easily one of the top bands of the 90's. They must have upset a record executive or something.
One of my all time favorites! Nada kicks ass!
I see the lightning from the storm down in Mexico And I see my speedometer doesn't work I cross the desert and disappear into the tumbleweeds I tip the bottle and bite the lime I hear the thunder from the storm down in Mexico And I leave the border far behind I feel the dust coat my teeth and turn my sweat to mud I tip the bottle and bite the lime There ain't no moral to this story at all Anything I tell you very well could be a lie I've been away from the living, I don't need to be forgiven I'm just waiting for that cold black soul of mine To come alive I feel the wind blow from the storm down in Mexico Gasoline for another hundred miles I cross the river and leave my shoes up on the other side I tip the bottle and bite the lime There ain't no moral to this story at all Anything I tell you very well could be a lie Been away from the living, I don't need to be forgiven I'm just waiting for that cold black sun-cracked soul of mine To come alive Come alive, yeah Well, I feel the rain drops from the storm down in Mexico Truck will go no further, out of gas I walk through the desert past the lizard and rattlesnake I tip the bottle and bite the lime There ain't no moral to this story at all Anything I tell you very well could be a lie There ain't no morals to these stories at all And everything I tell you, you can bet will be a lie I been away from the living, I don't need to be forgiven I'm just waiting for that cold black sun-cracked numb-inside soul of mine To come alive Come alive, come alive Come alive.
They made a perfect record, and no one cared
Rock surely is dead
What are you talking about? WE care.
This is one of my all time favorite songs , and absolutely my fav Roger/Refreshments song. My partner and I have each chosen a "death song" and this is mine. Whoever dies first, the other promises to sing their death song...not in mourning, but in celebration. I hope I still get to listen to it many more times, as well as see them several times (I've seen them twice).
I've seen them three times now. Saw them at Matt's saloon in Prescott Az
Haven't been grooving to this since 2000 but found a documentary about the band a couple weeks back and its like going home to an old friend. Soothes the soul!
Please share where you found this documentary. It sounds like something everyone would be interested in.
Half my life ago, I fell in love with an American woman and this was one of her favourite songs. It didn't last, sadly. I hope she's doing okay.
Love this video and song. I've played it a bunch of times! Thank you!
Yeah, this is the shit. 25+ years later it still blasts true. The guitar is on point. My happy place
I love this album. It's a man's quest to leave failed relationships behind and his epic road trip to Mexico. Where all can be forgiven and forgotten. Where the cerveza and senoritas can ease a mans soul.
First-class guitar work
Such a classic album
Ever since the day rhis album was released, after all these shit filled years, I still believe this is the greatest song ever
I’d argue with you if I could.
Great video
Thanks
This was the soundtrack to my buddy Steve and I driving through the desert in the middle of the night in his '59 Cadillac Coupe DeVille headed to Vegas from Apache Junction Arizona in the late '90's.
Thanks for sharing that story. I could picture the whole thing happening. Here’s to life!
Yes, this is good music.
I remember listening to this album casually and enjoying the shit out of it. One day, I just sat is absolute wonder when I actually stopped and listened to the guitar accents on this song. Absolutely fucking genius. So effortless. So perfect. So eloquent. The phrasing and tone are just mind-blowingly astonishing. I keep trying to play this album for my friends and get them to truly appreciate what it is that I hear. It's so disheartening that they don't seem to recognize the brilliance of this music.
This song is so atmospheric, like a U2 song from The Unforgettable Fire, but with a pure American Southwest feel. Takes me back to my younger days, driving alone at night in the country with the windows down and stereo turned up. Sweet, sweet melancholy, and an occasional bug splattering on the windshield...
these pictures are fantastic 😂 perfectly memeable
wow.....i'm keith what an unbelievable piece of music !
One of my favorite! Hard to choose just ONE! LOVE PH'S DRUM INTRO!
<=== Cancion Tequila
Still amazing. Guitar so distinct. Lyrics and performed excellent.
Seems like a world gone by.
one of my online friends introduced me to this song i’ve loved it ever since
Happy 25th Anniversary Fizzy Fuzzy Big And Buzzy!!
That doesn’t seem possible that this came out 25 years ago. Here’s to life!!
@@azcactus2008 Crazy, huh? :) Seems just like yesterday. Here's to life!!
Going to see Roger and Paul tonight!!! Hope they play this song!!! It's hard to say my all-time favorite.. but if I had to say one, this is it!
Have a great night. Here’s to life!!!
They ended with nada!!! And played mekong!!! And all my faves from ffb&b !! They did miss interstate!!!. But effing amazing show!!!! No harmonica in the beginning, but I knew from first guitar strum it was nada!!! And.. heeeerres to life!! Lol I was just waiting for my cold black sun cracked numb inside soul of mine to come alive!! And it did!! Again!!
I Scored a 45 of Heart Like A Wheel that had written on it All Skate, I guess written by the roller rink from a rummage sale I was passing in the parking lot of Columbia Mall in Columbia, Missouri when I was going to the mall to buy a Steve Miller Band cassette. One of my greatest treasures. Side II was Circle Of Love
Paul Fenner a very cool find
I'm was very impressed with the photography in this. Some amazing shots.
calscary I’m glad you enjoyed it
This is one of those songs that changed my life for the better and feel it's by far the best work of Roger Kline and the peace makers. Thanks from the bottom of my heart!
fatbob641 you are very welcome. Here’s to life!
I've always loved the southwest but this song is more to me than just that. I don't have the energy to put it all down but suffice to say when I listen to this it takes me to places other than the material world.
I agree completely
Bought the CD when it was released and still can't understand why in the HELL this isn't playing on every radio station in America . The entire album is a smash ,outta the park ,bomb diggity ,there is NO bad music on the entire cd
Jeffery lee preach on brother Jeff. I agree 100%
I know right? It's like the American, Sunshine On Leith.
Some of the best Anquan music ever made.
Me too!
It's the victim of a record company who lost interest in their job.
Boy do i miss my home state!
My life. Thanks
Can someone please tell me the name or drop the link for their song about trying to get tequila in a bar in the south!?!?!?!
Nevermind I just realized the song I. Talking about was the Peacemakers. I used see them and the Refreshments live when I loved in Tempe but forgot whose song it was
My best friend in high school and I used to listen to this, it was our song. We were huge fans, we had a bootleg tape from a friend of the band with songs that never made it on record. My friend and i were about 15/16 when this came out and we were driving to Algodones Mexico. I drank a bit and smoked a lil grass i was in high school. I remember the first time he ever drank was when we pulled off the road somewhere in no-where'sville to do a lil off roading and take a leak. And it was getting stormy and we were getting close to yuma and he loved the song but didn't understand the meaning of tip the bottle and bite the lime. I grabbed my shooter and said take a 1/3 of this and get it down and bite this fresh lime wedge (which i called a rhyne for some reason back then) 30 minutes later were blaring this song and he looks at me with sweat on his brow and i say pull over now and get out! He made it 3 feet and lost the drink. His first real drink at that. I drove the rest of the way. And afer he was passed being sick we had a blast in mexico. Just a memory i can't shake we had good times and a lot of them. I miss my friends, but i had to part ways with them, because i chose the dragon (devil) over them and I miss em all everyday. Sorry for the long story, if you guys were here i'd say new glass here for these new friends of mine, forgive me i forgot their names.
Listening in 2020🐍🌵🦂
Such an underrated song - Loved it 100x more than "abracadabra" - I remember waking up in the morning to this song bac´k in 80 or 81 when my radio alarm set off.
My suicide song... No better way to go.
Respect and admiration, music genius talent
I don't know why this wasn't a bigger hit for SMB, it did get airplay in '82, but not enough--considering what a gem it is. Miller has seldom sounded better. And what a great song; dare I say it? with a lot of heart.
I vaguely remember stumbling into Long Wongs in Tempe Arizona in the early 90's and catching the Refreshments for the first time. Such a great band. FFBB album is etched intomy life, as we listened to it all the way to Rocky Point, over and over. This is my "go to" album for most all situations. It has it all.. Circus Mexicus 2020.. I will be there !!
