  • I hope you enjoy watching this tutorial of how I made these cute, matching bedding sets for our kids room. We really love them and have no complaints so far. Here are the zippers that I used: amzn.to/3l6J0r7 and also the comforter set that I started out with: amzn.to/3l96mw9 and here is the Bodkin that makes it so easy to pull thru your elastic: amzn.to/3t646sc
    I forgot to give an estimate of how much I spent on this project and how much I saved:
    King Comforter Set: $66.49
    Zippers X4: $10.59 X4= $42.36
    Fabric for Sheet: $9.97
    Total: $118.82 /2= $59.41 each
    Beddys Beds (Toddler Bed Size) $129.00 each
    I saved an approximate total of $139 :)

    You should sell those on your Etsy shop in different sizes.

    • @camilledammasch3648
      @camilledammasch3648 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      She would have to sell them for more than the beddys ones so not a viable product for home sewers

      You could sell them for specialty sizes like RV mattresses.... none of those are ever actually true sizes

    WOW!! Absolutely beautiful work, you are incredibly talented! I love that your kids pop in to watch and sit near mom, I used to do the same when my mom was sewing when I was a kid and I have so many fond memories of those times. This was a fantastic tutorial, the attention to detail and quality of the video itself are great, thank you for sharing with us! Just thinking about attempting this makes my brain hurt, I feel like I need much better math and sewing skills (and maybe an engineering degree!) to pull if off, but yours turned out perfect!

    My mom from Poland made us bedspreads from sheets. We would pick out a sheet we like like flowers and it would have to be a flat sheet. She sewed two together and slid in an old blanket in the middle and sewed it back up.like a duvet but half the price

    This is the best tutorial for this I've seen! I am hoping to make one for a full size bed--I have a couple of questions. did you use the measurements of the mattress and add a seam allowance for your side and topper pieces? Also, did you surge the edges of the minky fabric? I didn't see how you finished those edged. Thank you! Great work!

    Couple questions. Trying to wrap my brain around this. How did you know how big to make the side panels? I know the width of my mattress but want to know how much excess from that I need in order to have it reach the bottom and seam allowance for elastic? Next question is on the top part I hope this makes sense. Could you just leave extra fabric all the way around on the sizing for the comforter and when adding the minky fold over enough of the comforter to cover the zipper? I guess if you cut the comforter there may not be a pretty edge but could you tuck it into itself and top stitch around before adding the minky. In my head that would work but not completely sure. End goal being so it matches the comforter exact when using a directional print.
