- Golden State Warriors President and General Manager Bob Myers has decided to step down after 11 years with the team. Myers was Executive of the Year twice and won four titles during his time with the team. Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe discuss whether this is another indication that the Warriors dynasty is ending or not.

Skip called the Warriors “chumps” on Twitter the night they lost game 6 to the Lakers. Total disrespect to the organization, their players and their contributions to basketball and the bay area community.
Skip shouldn’t talk about this team period, if he thinks they’re chumps then stop talking about them (hypocrite).

This episode was a BIG SUBLIMINAL message after finding out Shannon leaving the winning team. 🏆
The organization offered a deal to him that would have made him the highest GM in all of sports. Bob Myers told people close to him that if he left, that it would be to spend more time with his family and pursue other business interests outside of basketball. This had nothing to do with the players or the Warriors as an organization. The only reason he considered not leaving was because of Kerr, Steph, Draymond, klay, and Joe Lacob. He loves these guys

Guarantee he's going to be back in the NBA next year with another team with an ownership stake. Klay is in the last year of his deal and will want a max, Dray has a player option and he's already states he wants a max. He knows there are so many problems with their roster and salary cap and he didn't want to spoil his relationships by making the hard decisions and negations with the people he "loves".
I don't buy that, he's waiting on one of those ownership deals as a GM like Ujiri was getting

Bob Myers had one the greatest runs of any GM ever. What he was able to accomplish with this core is incredible and something we probably won't see again, or it will be a long time before we see it again. Good luck to him and all the best to him in his future.

The only exception I can think of are the Lakers of the late 00's (but even then most of their success is still attributed to Jerry West rather than Mitchell Kupchak)

Poole sign a 4 year contract last year he is not living unless the warriors trade him or unless he quits and lives millions of dollars on the table and he will not do that so poole will be with the warriors

I think Skip is right on this one. There is an epidemic in the NBA of people getting the boot who should 100% NOT get the boot; but with this situation, I think Bob Myers is just done.
The truth is, he doesn’t want to be the guy that breaks the team up, and be viewed as the bad guy.
Bob did a great job with the Warriors and now he just wants to focus on himself and his family. This might signal the end of the Warriors dynasty, but he was the one who helped start it

I think they will be fine in the long run. They are a great organization with a ton of talent . One of the two big players it will probably be clay will have to take somewhat of a hometown discount. They might even trade poole at some point which regarding his attitude on the team and everything wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing. If he wouldn’t have stunk it up in the playoffs, I would say keep him and try to work it out but he just seems super selfish and not about the warrior way. I think they get at least one more title before they all hang it up though. Curry was as great as ever and I have a feeling they will find a way to run it back with everybody.

I do agree that it usually makes no sense when someone is rich and/or successful, but I would assume it's very stressful and time-consuming, and he probably wanted to be able to enjoy his life more and spend more time with his family. Alot of people forget how much work alot of these people (athletes, actors, owners, etc...) put in, and they aren't robotic and supposed to work 24/7 for years and years on end. That's extremely taxing.

The real reason Bob left is because he cannot be a good loyal friend to Klay and Draymond, and a good loyal employee/friend to Lacob. What’s best for the Warriors is to low-ball Klay and Draymond in their contract extensions or trade them, but that would make him a bad friend to his boys. He can’t do that. Relationship building is his thing, and he can’t make that hard, but correct move for the team, without seriously jeopardizing those relationships.

Nuggets are deep would throw bodies at Steph, Warriors could not throw enough bodies at Jokic, so Dubs would have had to shoot phenomenally the whole series to offset the Nuggets depth.
