    I was lucky enough to test this watch for the past few months. As soon as I took it out of the box, it became my daily driver. Heart rate and GPS was always spot on. AMOLED screen is beautiful in person. As always with Coros, battery life is incredible and the watch is super light. It’s honestly, the perfect watch for me, not even close.

    At 400€ plus the separate cost for the nylon band, the new product keeps the Pace 3 competitively priced and relevant, avoiding market overlap.

    It's funny that Garmin fans will defend the weak processor in the F8, claiming that at least the battery is good thanks to it. Just look at this Coros: you can have a fast processor AND a long battery life. There are no excuses for selling a $1k watch with a several-year-old processor.

    • @ChaseTheSummit
      @ChaseTheSummit  4 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +5

      Eh... it's not that simple. Garmin's do a lot more (NFC Payments, Streaming music, Body Battery, Training Readiness, etc...) not to mention out of the box COROS watches sample heart rate every 10 minutes which saves a TON of battery. If you switch the COROS to "Real Time" Heart rate data it basically cuts the battery life in half when you're not in an activity. Another huge difference is the maps. Yes COROS pans/zooms faster but it also lacks a lot of detail compared to a Garmin which has routeable maps and full map label/POI support. All that stuff takes extra CPU power to render. But yes, Garmin's are super expensive! But I'd argue they're sort of aimed at different markets.

    Great review, Dave. A no-frills sports-focused Amoled watch with great GNSS and OHR accuracy? Sounds like just the thing I need. I've been holding off getting a Race S. Was looking forward to the M3. But this Pace 3 seems like an ideal middle ground especially for someone like me who just runs, does cardio, and lifts weights and not much else.
    Previously I had decided to avoid getting a Pace 2 and Pace 3 because their builds were just.. ugh.. even $80 China-made smart watches have better subjective build quality. How's the build quality on this one? Is it more robust and feels more solid?

    The adapter is cool but you still have to "bring something to charge it". Would have been better if it had a USB-C port. All modern phones have it with some sort of IP rating.

    • @ChaseTheSummit
      @ChaseTheSummit  3 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      The problem with USB-C is it's water resistance. It's fine for phones that are moderately "splash proof" but it's not so great for watches with ATM5 water resistance for swimming. The only real answer is to move to a wireless charger like Apple or Google but then you're still carrying something around to charge it. I don't mind the little USB-C adapter on the COROS!

      I'm curious to see the future of COROS. They've said in the past the MIP is "Here to stay" but I think as the market shifts and more people are in search of AMOLED watches they'll need to pivot to the demand of the users. The Pace Pro is likely a "test" for them to see how it sells but I'll bet we see more AMOLED from them soon.

    The race s may be a slightly better watch at a similar price. But the question is, is it enough for people to jump ship?
    I hate switching systems. So this would be an option for me to consider.
    Will likely wait on the apex pro 3 at this point as my original pro still serves me very well.
    Watches made to last, not to be replaced every year. That's the coros way.

    • @ChaseTheSummit
      @ChaseTheSummit  4 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      I also see them catering to different markets. The Suunto Race S has a nicer build quality and a more complex menu system along with some wellness perks like "Body Resources". COROS as mentioned in my video I view more as a "tool" that doesn't get bogged down with too much fluff or excessive features. I think most people can easily take a Pace Pro out of the box and get up and running in a few minutes while Suunto will require a slight learning curve. Both are great, it just sort of depends which type of person you are!

    I need your input. I have been in an Apple Watch 3 but I can’t stand the battery life. I am a casual fitness guy who runs, hikes, jump rope, lifts weights and ski’s. I am trying to decide on the best bang for my buck and overall value. Heart rate accuracy and battery life matter to me along with decent gps….. Anyway, I was able to get a Garmin fénix 7 sapphire solar for 490 bucks on sale BUT it’s still in the box… since I am also researching the Amazfit T- Rex 3 and this watch. I care more about the overall value and a watch that will serve me well for a long time. I have also considered the coros vertix 2s. I do like the look of a slightly beefed up watch even tho my wrists are smalller.
    Which watch do you think is the best deal and value ? Should I keep the Garmin fénix 7 sapphire solar that I got at a great deal ? Or should I return it and go for the amazefit t-rex3 or a coros? Any input is greatly appreciated and thank you so much for all the great content you put out for us all

    • @ChaseTheSummit
      @ChaseTheSummit  2 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      This really depends on what you're doing and what features you value. None of these sports watches will compare to an Apple watch when it comes to "smart features" like LTE, speaker/microphone, apps, etc... But as a dedicated sport watch the Fenix 7 Sapphire is a great option and it has superior mapping/navigation compared to just about any other brand. Do you value mapping? That's the easy answer.
      If you don't care about smartwatch features or mapping as much the COROS Pace Pro would make a great option and is arguably the best value in your list.

      Solar and AMOLED don't get along. Not until AMOLED technology gets to a point where it consumes less power.

    Why do sports watch companies are transitioning to amoled ? Is it because of the demand or they consider MIP displays old tech ?

      Simply due to user demand and the fact that the newer tech Amoled displays can still have great battery life.

    can I listen music and attend in this watch?

    • @ChaseTheSummit
      @ChaseTheSummit  2 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Not sure I understand the "attend" part. But yes, this watch supports music playback but only from its internal storage with MP3 files. It doesn't support music controls on your phone or streaming services like Spotify.

      It supports music. There's 32GB of internal storage for MP3 files. Just no support for things like Spotify or Amazon music.
