- We all want to know what is out there in the woods and bringing the Fisher F19 metal detector along is a good idea. I went exploring around the old deserted New England farms that we have so many of here in this part of NH. Following the rock walls, cow lanes, cart paths and looking around the cellar holes. I came upon a spot near the river where they were dumping junk and field stones for many years. Detected a small section that looked like an improved field way back when . And then dug some pocket change out on the road ! This is metal detecting and exploring in its simplest form and the best way to have fun and enjoy the day outdoors. Walking through the colonial farms of the 1700s that all became abandoned in the 1800s. And you never know what you may find.

I hear ya. If nothing else just to see nature and a little peace.
Another fun adventure, thx for taking us along!
Damn! I thought that the tree on the Left was closer to the camera than it was. As you walked by it it became relevant how large it actually was.
If it’s full of barrel bands it could be the starter house. I’ve seen this before.
A penny is a penny. To me that's a successful hunt when i can't get on the goid stuff. Take Care
Very cool 😎!!
I like it regardless 👍🏻😁
DC diggin' on the fly...so to speak and that is cause for a pause ton wonder (as well as wander) on a Not Thursday.
Loved the walk to the various dumpy sites. But more than that, thanks for showing those different berry plants. I'm in New England in February, so those colorful berries give me hope for another growing year.
👍Enjoyed
let's go let's go treasure and adventure✌👵
You are correct. The metal wagon wheel band was/is called a "tire". On high quality wheels, the bands were heated then fit over the wooden rim and allowed to cool and shrink to a tight fit. It's where we get our phrase "kick the tires". Back in the day you would kick the wheels of your wagon to help determine quality and/or potential wear. If the "tire" rattled or moved when kicked it meant it likely would come off soon - you didn't want that one... The practice of "kicking the tires" carried over into the early days of automobiles as people didn't know what else to do to determine quality or craftsmanship of the new technology. Today, I'm sure you're aware, it simply means to closely check out something new. In fact, I was in a meeting today when a young systems analyst proposed "kicking the tires" of a new software system. I just grinned to myself and let it go. 🙂
Thank you for the walk around on your Not Thursday video. Joyce❤️🙏🇺🇸
No matter where you go, there you are. When man returns to the moon (with a metal detector) they will find zinc memorial one cent coins. - SB
one thing i never see you do , is search the rivers and creaks at the old homesites . personally i have found alot detecting the places they used to wash cloths etc.
What kind of white berries? Were they? Do you think some of those modern-day coins that you sometimes find could’ve been lost by you and your friends especially because of how many years you guys have been metal detecting up there.
Love youre style of metal detecting, {not all that hype} you tell it like the way it is found. I can trust and enjoy, the trouth. I just starting watching you about three weeks ago, just found your site !!!! I have two questions to ask
, its about your equipment, where did you find and if you don"t mind answering? your shovel and pack. i love the way you use both, can you share any info on them? Im 78 and getting slow, and that style of equipment would help me get out more. I forgot to mention , Im from western North Carolina, 20 mi. from Mount Mitchell, this area looks almost identical yo your mountains, except ours seem t have a sharper enclines.
