Dug into this old chimney stack and the first thing I found was a 220 year old coin

I found this cellar hole exploring and had my metal detector with me and started right in the fallen down stone chimney stack. First signal was an 83 which is really good and started moving rocks. To my surprise I pulled out an 1805 US large cent liberty copper coin....wow ! This place was abandoned in the mid 1800s and has been deserted ever since. Tons of rock walls and overgrown pastures are the signs that lead me here. Reading the landscape history is the way to find old places to metal detect. I spent a couple hours relic hunting here and dug up some great artifacts from the 1700s and 1800s and found it to be a really interesting old site.
