- Reviewing the new Diamondback bed cover. So far I am loving it. The availability to open up the bed for large cargo is a big plus. Diamondback has mentioned that they are looking into developing a rail system as well to mount a bed rack.

I almost bought one or these for my Tacoma. Great video; I’ve been looking for a video for a while. I ended up getting a lower profile trifold but kinda wish I had gotten this. Looks great! The only thing I didn’t like is that you can’t fold up the panel closest to the rear window.
I’m liking the looks and functionality of the switchback over the HD/SE etc for sure. Thanks for the video. There hasn’t really been anything out there on them yet. Thinking of grabbing one for my Tacoma.
Thanks Brad I just received my DB Switchback for my 23’ Limited Tundra and looking for installation videos mind boggling that DB don’t have installation videos for it. I don’t think the Switchback panels come apart like their SD & HD models it’s pretty darn heavy trying to install this by myself. From your video it looks like the SB installs very similar to the soft trifold tonneau cover that I currently have down to the latches. Great looking truck buddy. Sub
Hey brad, looks great!! I think you should try to switch it out for the diamond back had if it’ll fit your tundra, and I believe they have the model you need just make sure you give the correct bed size! Great video, keep ‘‘em coming!,

How about security vs the SE/HD?
Did you notice a drop in gas mileage with the bed cover on?

Thanks. I am trying to decide between the Diamondback Switchback and the Diamondback HD. Any thoughts about that choice, pro's, con's, anything?
Darn I saw this new model and thought it still allowed the front clamshell to be opened separately (like to gain access to the front of the bed). Kinda bummed but good for my wallet I suppose as I probably would have placed an order for a cover like that.

I plan on testing the water tightness this weekend with my pressure washer. I’ll post updates soon.

i dunno he made a video that showed it as not so waterproof, but then diamondback commented that he had forgotten the back weatherstripping and he deleted the video, hope he'll do another water test with it installed. Although prob by now other vids@@cooksautoworld
It's not good having to secure the last panel by engaging two levers vs. a single one-hand mechanism that is accessible at/near the tailgate. Cargo could interfere with access to the levers as well as engaging them. Diamondback needs to change that.
It appears you lose 1/3 of your bed area when fully opened. That’s a deal breaker.

Does the tailgate open freely with the cover closed. Seemed like you had to slightly pull the tailgate to get it to open. Cover looks great.
If I loosen the latches then it will open freely. I don’t know how much this would affect the water resistance though.
Does it leak when going through a car wash?
Anchor cleats would be nice.

Wish it came open more. Too large of a platform left after opening
