The new VRoid is excellent! They definitely added a lot of super useful functions, thanks Cherri for another great and super explanatory tutorial! 😄
12:20 Just want to add that the 'hit radius' under the hair bounce sliders changes the hitbox/collider size for the hair. This essentially tells VRoid how thick the hair is and how it should interact with the rest of the model.
If you have hair clipping through the body you can increase it. Just note that If you increase it too much, it might make the hair stick up funny (which is useful in making cool gravity defying hair)

This is a great tutorial! I had no idea that Vroid updated, you walked through the entire editor slowly and clearly, and the narrator is very cute and makes the video more playful. You got me to want to explore the program more.

Now if Vroid will allow us to export the 3D models in FBX format, that would be the most important feature. I really hope FBX export will be added as an option in Vroid Studio in the near future. It is the feature that I’m waiting for.
What's the reason for exporting in FBX?
@@insanemang9983 hi ! fbx is a format that is used to import and export objects in most 3d modeling/texturing software ! I'm guessing it's so we don't need specific techniques to be able to import the model into software like blender or maya, so it would be easier to add stuff to the model ! hope it helps !

I've been having some issues getting (fully updated) Hana_Tool generating FaceID blendshapes for VRMs made with the new Vroid, has anyone else run into this problem?

Thank you! Hmm... I don't know how to do that very well but I could look into it!
The best thing to do is to look at the avatar model b, she has hair accessory in her hair. Basically the accessory are hair. So start a freehand group, shape your mesh so its over where you want the accessory. There is a pre step, which is load the texture of your accessory into a hair materal. But to understand it better use the hair pin that's on this models hair. Easy way to find which material is the hair pin is click on the hair pin, you will see a rectangle on the mesh around the hair, that's actually a single stand of hair. Now look where the hair material boxes are, the one highlighted is the texture for the hair pin, click on that box and you will see color info and edit texture, open that you will see the textured used for the hair pin but also on the same materal sample an ear ring and some stars. Look how they placed. So easy way would to replace the texture with your own. When you back out to the mesh you will see your texture in place of the hair pin if you place exactly the hair pin texture. So say you are off by a little. You can adjust how and where the texture sits on the invisible hair strand by using the texture parameter sliders and you can adjust the shape of it by using the hair parameters slider. Play around with them slowly, you will see what each one does. This is a good example to use because it has a variety of things in her hair and on her ears and theres a bow with an ear ring hanging from, all done the same way, you can things anywhere there is mesh. Only difference with the ear rings, you give them thickness
Check out the blue star ear ring, select that material and change to the freehand and draw on to the mesh, it's pretty cool, I was just playing with it, and it was giving me ideas

thanks for this. there seems to be a huge lack of tutorials in the new version. I do with there were more body sliders though. you could have the thicc-est of thighs and still suffer from no-ass-at-all. or adding clothes to a guy with pecks, the clothes thinks there are boobs and I struggle to adjust it. It would be nige to have arm size option too for muscles or thicker characters. maybe some day@

Am I able to record with my avatar then use it to add other content to upload to TH-cam? Like a PowerPoint presentation etc? Will I be able to open this up in another video editing app? Are we able to post to other platforms like IG or Fbk? If not, which one can I use it with to add other content? Thanks a lot.
Sure! You can do anything with your avatar, usually it helps to use other programs like VUP, VSeeFace, or 3Tene. But if you only have vroid, you can use something like a screen recording program to record your avatar on the vroid screen. The vroid avatar will not move though unless you play an animation, you can also make a custom pose if you just want a picture to put in a powerpoint presentation. I hope that makes sense, please feel free to ask more questions I will try my best to answer!
How to make the texture and where ? And what the format if you incert this ?
I make my textures in photoshop, but you can use any art program you want. There are free ones out there, I just don't know the names of them. You want to make sure it is a .png file when you bring the texture back in. =)
What about if you want to change a section of hair to add a different color stripe?
When you go to edit the hair, click on a hair that you want to change the color of, and go to the material section in the top right, click the plus button to create a new material then you can change the color of that and it should change the color of that strand or section of hair! You can create as many materials as you want!

Its actually a hair layer! Thats why it moves with my head lol. It was kind of complicated but basically you bring in your png of the wing as a hair texture layer instead of a color, create a new hair mesh for each wing, then draw them in with the brush tool.

Where do you find free clothe images to import? Just curious. Thanks for the tutorial. Want to make my own Avatar. go to booth.pm and search vroid. That should bring up a ton of clothing options for you, a lot of which are free! I'm not exactly sure how to make them glow, I think you can do that with some color saturation perhaps, but I did a search on booth for you and found a few options! Was wondering what happen to you, thought maybe the Vup people kept you. Lol you look you were having fun in that video. Good job on the basics of vroid stable. I might have to watch again to check, I dont reminder if you covered clothing layers or not, I do remember you mentioned texture layers. Maybe you concider it an advance feature, its definitely a cool addition to the stable release. One issue I had at first with the clothing layers, was organization. You know, new feature, so I thought cool, I can add all my hoodie on one clothing layer. First, I did this on the underwear level, not thinking, just pushing buttons and going. I must of added 20 or more textures, when I notice I was starting to lag, that's when I realised that it wasnt designed for that and have fugure out how to move one custom item layer and move it to where It belong under tops with in the file system. Because what it did was put all the hoodies attach to the one pair of underwear.. Live and learn, sure I could save each hoodie out one at a time, but it still be at the underwear level and I dont delete all the textures that arent needed. It will cause lag. So if any thinks the way I did, dont do it, make individual outfits and save them as new. It was good to see another video from you Cherri, the new model looks good, but honestly, the fire orange hair was adorable and seem like a trademark look for her. I am not hating, just my opinion is all. Hope to see more vids soon, and if need ideas on what to do on vroid, hit me up and I will make you a list. Lol

@@CherriSprout yeah but the hair wheels are a tough cookie to crack. I mean know more than I did last month, but still hard to find info out on them, I am old school, I like manuals and reference materials, especially when it comes to numbers. I dont really need to watch your videos, I do because I think your character is so adorable. Not say I havent picked up nothing from ya, the Vup video was very helpful, you touch on things I hadnt looked at yet. I love vup but it gives me such trouble, but not as much as thier website, I been trying to join for months, I get stuck in a loop trying to join. I know should explore discord more. But when I get on that, it might hours, days, maybe weeks to get back out..lol. But hey, let me be a friend and I will dye your hair back to that lovely orange for ya...lmao...green? @@CherriSprout one thing I did with my many hoodie textures loaded, damage was all ready done, so might as well play with it. So one thing you can do when you have a clothing mesh layer added and textured., you can add another one, and another, mix and match different meshes, I think it's up to 5 but that's per article of clothing, it could get crazy or maybe fancy. The other thing you can do is dupe a clothes layer, I did this with my stacks of hoodies then I mix and matched different hoodies making new super hoodies. You can adjust the parameter of each mesh and dont even have to leave the texture edit area, look for it, you will see how. Anyways I dont recommend doing it this way, I was just messing around with my mistake, with multiple clothing layers all stacked with 20 plus textures made it lagged. Most likely I crashed the program. Use the ideal not the method.

I mean I know I cant compete, you seen boothe and vroid site, so much talent. I just want to enter something that I could be proud of, maybe catch an eye or 2. Have you looked yet. One of the prizes is they will make your design for real. That is super sweet, even though i most like will go with a dress of some sort, but still it would be cool. But I am not being it for prizes, I just want to be apart of it. It seems to me doing a fancy goth lollie dress would be too obvious...so I been trying to think outside the box.. maybe sci fi. Fantasy. Or go back in time. Either way, I think you have to take advantage of the new features especially the mesh layering. I been scrolling thtu the soul caliber 7 designs that users post through the game for ideas, some good stuff there. Let me know if you do this, I will help support ya. I got your back cherri...lol hope you got good ideas. My problems the thing I have done in vroid is simple or modded stuff I pulled out the free box at boothe. Btw, I know where to some really nice stuff for free off booth and a fancy goth dress if you got Twitter. Be more than happy to get them to you...I dont know if goth is cherries style, but I am sure you make other models

I think you need a program like Unity to add the wings to the avatar, which I have no knowledge in sadly, which is why my wings are just attached to the hair. =\

What program do you use for your facial capture? I use VSeeFace, and it works great! You just have to play with the settings a bit to really fine tune it.
@@CherriSprout Hello, thank you for the response! In the meantime, I've solved the issue. It was a combination of my laptop's poor camera quality and the unsynchronized face tracking from Animaze. I'm gonna try VSeeFace as well!

How can animate the characters (Like make videos with them and let them do poses, etc like in mmd)??????????? (I'm using mac btw)
Doing motion capture with a suit is the easiest way to pose and move your avatar, but I know that can be expensive. Other than that I would say to use Vroid to make poses or use their animations to move your avatar, then use screen capture like obs to record the movements. I hope that makes sense

Is there a way to colour individual hair strands? When I try to change my hair colour it doesn't let me specify at all
Yes! Click on a hair color then in the top right section there is a materials box with colors in it. You can add a material and make it a specific color, you can do this for each strand you select. Hope that makes sense!

Do you have a specific hat you found on booth? If so can you share the link with me? Usually on booth the artist will give you instructions. If not though I may be able to help you in my discord. It will probably be a hair preset we can put on your character.

There is, as far as I know, no reason or way to link a bank account, it is a free program and I think as long as you have permission from your parent/guardian to download and use it you should be fine at any age!

Your model glitches when you move in VUP? What type of glitching does it do? Could be a CPU issue (that your computer doesn't have enough RAM to run VUP smoothly)

@@mango3441 I'm sure you do already but make sure you have enough light on your face. Another thing it could be is the face settings maybe. Go to your avatar selection, click on the smiley next to where you click to choose your avatar, then hit the Set Default and then the save button. See if that helps. If it doesn't then I think your computer may not be powerful enough to run the face tracking on VUP but that is just a guess.

I believe you have to rig the hair yourself, but I think the clothes and model itself have rigging
Yes, as wolf said. The model itself is fully body and face rigged ready to go, but the hair is something you make and add bones to so it will animate.

wher i click export nothing happens
sometimes it takes a minute or two after clicking the button for the window to change/pop up. Maybe that is the issue? Just click it once and give it about 30 seconds to see if it pops up
how in the world do i have my charater blink and talk tho in vup cause it seems to be lacking to track the mouth or eyes or something
I've had this problem too, I think its a common bug. But what you can try is to go to the character tab and click on the little face button on the avatar your chose. Then click "Set to Default" and save changes. That should do it, but if it doesn't let me know and I have a come complicated way of figuring it out!
@@CherriSprout it did fix it some what some things are what i dont understand like the smoothness stuff involvving the face eyes and mouth sorry this is just my first time getting into vtubeing
@@HayateTsuki sorry for the late reply! I don't understand exactly what you're saying sorry! If you look to the right of the face capture tab there are a lot of slider bars and options that help you smooth out the movement of the face, hopefully that is what you meant? Just play with those features until you get something you like!

you can! I dont know how to do it exactly I think you have to go through Unity, but Im sure there are tutorials on it

hmmm.... hats are hard! I'm not sure exactly how to do it except to pull your avatar into Unity and put it on there.

@@Travalamp I'd say if they exist they might be on booth.pm. This is a japanese site so it might look a little weird but it is a safe site, I've been using it for years. Just search for vroid in the search bar.

Vroid keeps freezing for me 😭
What you forgot is that you can go to outfit > outfit subsection(ex. TOP) and press ADD TEMPLATE!
Which add another top or whatever the sub section is. So you can have a more than one piece of clothing to your model!
Like You can have a tshirt underneath your jacket or smth like that!

How can we create multicolored hair?
When you're under the hair tab, look at the material section over on the right. Each time you click on a piece of hair create a new material and change the color! Hopefully that makes sense!

@@LokiOfWinterfell There are a few ways to do a hair bow, the easiest would probably be to just shape a layer of hair into one, then change the texture to have the pattern that you want. Do you use photoshop or anything? You can save out the default image of the hair, put it in something like photoshop or any free image editor and color or apply a pattern to it, then import it back in. The entire bow should then have that color/texture/pattern. Hopefully this makes sense, you can see an example here of someone who made a bow out of hair booth.pm/en/items/3217480
