Fugue of Passion | Original Composition in D-Minor

Noteworthy features of this fugue:
→ there is an augmentation of the subject at 0:19, serving as the basis for the first episode
→ at 0:39, instead of starting by leaping up a seventh, the subject entry leaps down a ninth (i.e., the first note of the subject is placed two octaves higher)
→ there are one and a half inverted entries of the subject in stretto at 1:18, with the first note placed an octave lower
The fugue has three parts and is written for one player.

The first genuinely creative re-use of the past that I have ever seen - since Gould. It needs to be set for instrumental ensemble. The idea of a theme opening with a seventh is an inspired one. It could be added to the Art of Fugue without a blush.

Liked the dissonant opening in the subject. Also liked how you had some less contrapuntal passages to contrast with the more heavily contrapuntal material. Keep exploring, fugues are cool!
BTW have you ever considered a fugue in which the answer isn't at a 5th or 4th? Could be an idea worth trying out.
