Every time I tried to do hynobabies with my current pregnancy, I had horrible sleep paralysis. One time I listened to it in the room with my husband present and he got sleep paralysis(something that he never experienced before). It was pretty scary for us both. I used it for my last pregnancy but this time being deeper in my faith and spiritual growth. I was uncertain that God wanted me to use it, so I did pray about it. I believe the Lord allowed the sleep paralysis to tell me He didn’t want me to use it. I know some forms of new age meditation can disengage the frontal lobe making you more vulnerable to the enemy’s attacks and I believe this was our experience.

i love this! i’m pregnant with my first and I have been reading hypnobirthing books, listening to hypnobirthing podcasts and birth stories and it’s been incredible and i’ve been learning so much! but as someone who was saved out of the new age, there is a lot to be cautioned of when it comes to manifesting, those self centered affirmations you mentioned and hypnosis itself and the practice of meditating (releasing and opening your mind up) when we should be meditating on Christ and filling our minds with prayer and His presence. I take everything from hypnobirthing but leave out the parts that convict me since i have been doing new age meditation and yoga for years. I use christian hypnobirthing tracks, make my own affirmation cards with scripture and focus on deep prayer with my meditation, knowing that God is in control, not myself. His will, not mine! discernment is key, satan always wants us to open up our minds to “the universe”, manifesting and be self centered, even if it seems innocent if we come into agreement with something that is not of God he can work his way in and begin to change our hearts and minds.

This is just my opinion, but I wanted to share my experience as another perspective of a Christian woman. I used Hypnobabies in 2006 and 2009 when I had my two sons. I’m a Greek Orthodox Christian and found no red flags using this program at all. In fact I was thrilled I stumbled upon it. A woman was using hypnotic techniques in a tv show I was watching on TLC and I thought it was really interesting. I personally didn’t want to use any pain medication but I was very anxious about the pain involved with childbirth. I researched many different programs, and came across Hypnobabies. The tracks aren’t meant to change your mind about things, (religious, or anything else) it is to boost confidence within yourself to have a natural, “pain-free or discomfort-free” delivery. I tried a few Lamaze classes and they only increased my anxiety. Hypnobabies taught me slow deep breathing, focus and being calm from within. The purpose is to “manifest” or see a calm birthing environment for yourself and not think of labor as being “painful”, like it is portrayed in tv and in movies. I don’t think anyone deserves to have a painful birthing experience. Every woman has the right to their own individual birthing experience and I think in this day and age we should be able to manifest a calm birthing environment for ourselves. My doctors and nurses thought it was weird that I asked for low lighting and to direct questions to my husband so I could remain focused on my breathing and meditation, but they went along with my requests and were impressed with the end result. When my priest came to visit me and my son in the hospital he asked how my delivery went and I told him about the whole Hypnobabies experience. He actually thought it was an amazing tool to use to keep me calm and was really impressed that I didn’t need to take any pain medication at all. I wouldn’t discount this or steer women away from this program altogether. There is enough information and affirmations they can use, throughout the program, to not cause any anxiety about whether it interferes with your faith. I don’t think it is the intention of the creators of the program to cause one to be alarmed. I’ll bet they weren’t even thinking of people’s religion or beliefs. To me it was a really wonderful tool to help me through both of my deliveries. It also helps to create a quiet and calm environment for your babies once they enter this world. Even the doctors and nurses were impressed with how well I did. My first son’s heart rate dropped into single digits right before he was born and instead of being freaked out or scared, I stayed focused on my breathing, followed doctors instructions and pushed him out without pain medication or needing a c-section -which they had begun prepping me for. My son was born healthy and with no side effects. I think sharing your experience with this program is really good, and I’m glad you weren’t totally negative about it. It does offer a really nice alternative to the traditional “scary” deliveries. ☺️

I wish I would have watched this BEFORE purchasing Hypnobabies. I did a lot of research beforehand and their page "Christianity and Hypnobabies" made me ultimately feel like it was okay to jump in...Unfortunately though, I wish I hadn't! I'm one week in and started to feel some discomfort with some of the things presented. The "I deserve..." suggestion you mentioned was very red-flag to me, and some of the others seemed to scream manifestation and "prosperity gospel." I also noticed that the background song in all the hypnosis tracks is entitled "Enlightenment," which is clearly a new age concept. All of these flags inspired me to do more research, and I stumbled across your video. Christians have a wide degree of beliefs and comfort levels regarding these sorts of things, but something is telling me this is "off" and I've learned it's always best to follow your gut. I emailed the company today asking for a refund...they have a "no refund" policy, so we will see what they say... Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this.

I think it’s no coincidence that I was considering using hypnobabies as part of my birth plan and stumbled upon this video. Thank you God for your guidance 🙏🏻 and to you for making this video

Thank you for making this video. I just found out that I’m pregnant so doing a lot of research and planning for birth in December. I’m also a Christian and I love the idea of a very calm labour and delivery but I am conscious of new age beliefs/practices and that they do not align with the word of God. I agree with a lot of the things you said and loved hearing your perspective on hypnobirthing/hypnobabies. I can’t wait to watch more of your videos 😌🤎 so glad I found your account

THANK YOU! God bless!!! What you said is very true about MY WILL manifesting, that is not our faith!

Hi Santana! Can you tell me what you think of the Christian Hypnobirthing app? I haven’t downloaded the whole thing, but am trying to discern if it is new agey. I have heard several reviews from other Christian’s that say it is not. My husband is skeptical just because they use the term Hypnobirthing. And we are concerned it’s a new age thing that a Christian is attempting to “redeem”. Thank you!

I think it's interesting that hypnobirth is meant to remove pain during birth, when God clearly stated in the curse that He would multiply our pains in childbjrth as a result of disobedience and sin.

Haha this is a really weird view. I’m a Christian also and I have used Hypnobabies twice and I personally had no issues with anything you did. I was so grateful for Hypnobabies.

There is a sample track on TH-cam I listen to it - and it says I surrender to Gods will for our birth. I really emphasize that in my spirit because HE Is in total control. So maybe for some it could be a stumbling block- but for me it’s my desire to help my body relax & give into Gods plan for my birth. I do my part & trust him with the rest - but part of doing my work means setting myself up for the best success & then having faith, trust and being content in the outcome ❤ - Michelle

I agree with you. We deserve wrath and that is a red flag when it says we deserve a pain-free birth experience. No we deserve hell LOL

Once we receive the finished work of Jesus on the cross we don't deserve rath anymore. Jesus became the curse for us so we no longer live under the curse but rather are in right standing with God and are entitled to all those benefits.
