yeah, simple loot pools are better imo, its more about some luck with finding items and then skill with everyone having basically the same gear just with different rarities, instead of who gets the mythic weapon from a collab boss or whatever it is now
I honestly hate this take, Fortnites expansive story and fun items are what make it original. If you want a gun based lootpool and a map with only two colors, Reload and COD are great at that.
@@Lord_Joez If that was true, then why are the main complaints that people have, even back then, towards gimmicks that detract away from fortnites traditionally more simplistic lootpools. The best fortnite loot pools have SOME fun gimmicks, but are defined far more by gunplay and the ability to use those gimmicks to strategize and compliment the main gameplay. Shopping carts, rifts, rockets, golf carts, impulse grenades, or traps. People hate mechs, the OP version of planes, the OP version of helicopters, and the chapter 5 cars because they are gimmicks which force you to use them, because if someone who knows how to use them will win 99% of the time if they have them, regardless of skill level or strategization.
I remember back in chapter 1 season 10 i was so boreeeed of the map that i couldn't wait to have a new map. And now we thinks of the chapter 1 as the ultimate chapter sure it was very good because of it's simplicity but do not forget the flaws of this chapter, it was not perfect. Last thing i want to say you mentioned the community have a pattern of hating the current season and then after years or even months we see the chapter as a very good chapter when back in time we hated certains seasons. We need to appreciate what we have in the present because if your thinking about the past all times, you're not profiting of what you have. If i'm wrong correct me i'll appreciate. 😆
No collabs every fifteen seconds, better map, map updates that were actually impactful, no annoying AI or bots (at the time), better lighting, better atmosphere, game had its own identity, etc Yeah, it was better.
As I said, there are definitely aspects of Chapter 1 that are better than current Fortnite. But I think it's foolish to disregard the *huge* numbers of negatives in Chapter 1 because it was good!
@@caspy-fn I'm willing to live with those negatives if it means the game will have actual character again. While I enjoy current seasons a lot, I can't deny the fact that the game peaked a long, long time ago. Sure, everything "looks and plays" better now, but I still want the old movement back, and the old atmosphere the game had. It's comparable to how the GTA Defenitive Edition launched without any of the atmosphere that made it great, which was mostly fixed with the new lighting update. Before Chapter 2 Remix and even now a bit, the game looks just as soulless as those games before they were updated.
@@hmmmpIf lighting and animations are your only problems with the game then I think that says a lot about how good the game is doing. The only negatives you’re bringing up are subjective art style based ones. Gameplay wise you have no complaints. Therefor; game is good.
The only thing better about OG Fn was how the Storyline was told through the island, how the island evolved over time, and the fact that most people were kids when Og was a thing (including me)
I'm glad you mentioned how OG FN was deeply flawed, bringing up C1S5 as an example. Even as a teen I realized how deeply flawed S5 was due to the Spray meta that made every fight feel boring and unsatisfying. Hell I remember streamers complaining saying how bad S5 is. Flash Forward and now you have people saying S5 was good? I call bullshit. I will admit C1did have that feel like you mentioned of being younger and with friends, and how slapping in the old map wont fix things, but I think another thing to look at is how theres a pretty good chance that the OG mode will have modern animations, guns (art and models which is weird since a lot of them are in STW) mechanics like sprinting, and lighting which will in turn give off a fake feeling and deter a lot of players. I felt that in S:OG and I know a lot of others did as well.
Exactly! As an OG myself (I started playing 10 days after the Tilted Towers update in Chapter 1 Season 2) there hasn't been a Season where I haven't heard players get upset and it was exhausting. I think it's just better overall to try to find something positive in each Season. The flaws are there yes, but I'd rather be optimistic than pessimistic. I think my first wake up call to all this was Chapter 1 Season 7. You mentioned the planes and Infinity Blade, yes, but there was also that huge in-game snowstorm. In coated the Island in snow with a dense fog, and zombies could spawn anywhere. And players were really upset, especially those who hated the zombies the prior season. But I endured all that because I really liked the Battle Pass and genuinely wanted to complete it. I even got the Ice King's glider, which was from the challenges during the blizzard event. And you know what, I actually found more stuff to like about Season 7. First, it was the introduction of Creative Mode (grants it was nowhere near the scale it is now). Then it introduced my favorite POI, Happy Hamlet. It also introduced one of my favorite vehicles, the Driftboard. And it's where I met some of my Fortnite friends, and had some fun memories with Winterfest and other parts of the Season.
The hill I alone will die on, Chapter 4. Is and will always be the best chapter gameplay wise. However the innovativeness of chapter 1 was peak. Felt like I was getting new content every other day. Chapter 5, I dead like. Bullet drop was bad but I actually enjoyed it. They should’ve gone full throttle with their ideas instead of nerfs out the wazzoo
That’s valid reasoning. You’re right, the community is just like that, and people ALWAYS find something to complain about. For me personally, I really did love Chapter 1, I didn’t find everything perfect, and there were seasons I felt it kind of fell off from how well it was originally made. Specifically seasons 6,8,9,X. I felt those seasons weren’t as good, but they were better than what we have now. The problem isn’t for me that older is always better, the problem is that they lost their way. Fortnite in Chapter 1 was meant to be a simple game. You can argue people wanted the change and for it to get better, but in my opinion, it was far better than what they have now. Fortnite is trying so hard to copy games like Apex and COD, with all the crazy movement and weapon mechanics, and the hundreds of collabs is its own problem cause now they can't make a good unique cosmetic to save their life, and it just isn’t what this game was meant to be. The game was meant to be simple, it wasn’t meant to be played at a speed demon, triple editing, city building type of pace. People who think these changes are great are playing the wrong game. It’s like taking R6 Siege, and saying we should add sliding, and jumping, and mantling, and a tactical sprint, and wall running, and whatever other crazy thing. People would say no that’s totally absurd, because that’s not the kind of game Siege is. It’s the same with Fortnite and why I’ve hated the new Fortnite, and quit the game. This game was built on a smooth and casual movement and building speed, it was built with original, genuinely good looking cosmetics and emotes, it was built to be simple, and to be its own unique game. That’s why everyone loved Fortnite and it took off. Because it was different, it was unique, it was unlike any game we’d ever seen, it was special. And now when I hop on Fortnite it's like I'm playing a third person Warzone or Apex, with a hint of Fortnite. This game has more of other games in it than itself. So while I do think people are excited because of nostalgia, and I am too, the old game was not better because of it. It was better because it was Fortnite, and Fortnite wasn't trying to be someone else. I know a lot of people will disagree with me, and I'll admit, OF COURSE there were problems, not a single game in existence has no problems. But the problems of og Fortnite were considerably better than the problems with today's game, and the biggest problem with today's game to me is that it's no longer Fortnite.
The only reason OG was better is because the quality of content since the end of Chapter 3 has been awful by comparison. Nostalgia does play a factor of course, but that's like maybe 5% of the reason people like older versions of the game.
Wow i didn't know people hated season 5. That was actually when I started playing. But my main problems with Modern Fortnite is just the lack of updates, Collabs being produced like bunnies during mating season, and the story occurring subtly in the background rather than being present all the time. Edit: I could never see how anyone could say that anything beyond chapter 3 season 1 was "Peak Fortnite."
wait until u realize that the story was always like that, u dont need constant updates to enjoy the game stop being spoiled, and collabs make the game significantly more fun
@@damann7778 Maybe I worded things wrong but by "subtly in the background" I meant something happening in the story but we don't get to visibly see the effects of it like with chapter 2 season 7 for example we got to see everything that happened in the story as compared to now where all we get is a voice clip. And with collabs, 90% of them don't even matter to the story. Like with before if a collab appeared on the island, it would mean something. It wasn't always the case, like with Thanos, Travis Scott, or Marshmello. But most did. Now it's "oh buy the Incredibles" or "Here's Avatar to interrupt the season's theme for no reason" or "Attack on Titan is here now. They don't do anything there just here to take up the 'secret' skin's spot." And the lack of updates or just 1 huge update (Granted Fortnitemares was amazing) just makes each season feel drawn out and boring. Chapter 3 season 1 was the only time I can think of that they did this formula right. I'm not saying the game is awful now, it's just that it doesn't hold up to how they used to do things.
@Jaydog8536 the background thing is still wrong. Your issue with collabs is stupid, collabs didn't matter to the storyline until chapter 2 with a Batman comic and the Marvel season, and who gives a fuck if collabs happen for no reason, not everything has to be about the story. And from the ones u listed avatar didn't take over the season, epic made a bad decision, and pointing out attack on Titan out of all the collabs just shows that you're one of those anime haters. This anti collab shit is stupid and childish, don't buy it if you're gonna bitch about it. Constant updates aren't and never will be needed and that's a fact, you're spoiled and get bored way too easily. You are saying the game is awful u like to glaze how things used to be done like ppl didn't start saying the game was dying since chapter 1 season 5, you'll go and ignore chapter 2 seasons 1 and 2 being extended and both of them having over a month of no content. Things are way better now and that's a fact
Honestly people only complained about these seasons is cus they were right after the peak of fn c1s2-c1s4. That’s the seasons we were able to compare to. Now we look back comparing c1 to every other chapter which is way less fun imo
This is not everyone. When I played Chapter 3 and the early parts of Chapter 4, everyone I knew either loved it or was just fine with it. I think as a whole community, this is an issue, but that is only the vocal minority. I hated Chapter 5’s guts and still do, if Chapter 6 is worse, I’m gonna jump off of the Tilted Clocktower.
Chapter 5 is THE worst chapter in fortnite history and IDC what anyone thinks. I've played all chapters, all seasons, have all battle passes, thousands of hours in the game. Me and my friends all agree, as we did play OG, ch2 etc. CH5 is a travesty. I had criticism for ch2 s2 primal, ch3 S2, ch4 s3, but the shit ch5 did, especially in s3 car royal, was the cherry on top. I've never not played the game until that season. And weird to say it, but Ninja is right about ch5
truth is, nostalgia is blinding. I just try to appreciate what we have. The only thing I feel is missing from current fortnite is the more bright and cartoony art style and the storyline. Other than that, It feels as if they look past every issue cuz it’s og.
Yeah but just in case you missed it, did you also know he said rose tinted glasses as well? Yeah if you listen carefully, full volume, no background noise, he says it right there, rose tinted glasses. He says it because someone with rose tinted glasses, is wearing rose tinted glasses. Now it could be that they’re wearing rose tinted glasses literally, or roses tinted glasses metaphorically, but personally if you ask me, I would say 100% they are wearing rose tinted glasses. Rose tinted glasses are tinted glasses that are either made of roses, or just shows roses as tinted glasses. Rose Tinted Glasses
I've honestly thought this way for a while too. For me, I had the most fun playing the game itself in Chapter 4. Everything about that chapter was so damn good, from the gameplay mechanics (combat caches and augments) to the POI's (I fucking loved the Japanese biome.) I really hope they eventually bring back c4 too.
I feel this video so hard. I’ve personally pointed this out on Reddit hundreds of times. I hate the “oh you’re a new player if you like X.” Every season, every chapter, every update, they all have flaws. Some more than others. But they all have their upsides as well. This is why I’ve been saying that OG will eventually fail. It’s going to burn out fast.
its such a dumb argument. like i play zero build exclusively. i dont like builds. when did i start playing? chapter 1 season 4. taste isnt solely predicated on when you started playing. so stupid.
As a person who started in season 4 of chapter one who once simply stated that I prefer the mammoth pistol to the hand cannon - "Yeah yeah new player" was the response I got from ppl on reddit. Just because smth is older, doesn't always mean it has to be better. If you dropped the hand canon and the mammoth into the same loot pool, I would grab the mammoth any day even at a lower rarity
As someone who only started playing regularly when Zero Build came out, Chapter 4 was the first full chapter I experienced and man, I loved it. I also remember the hate for Chapter 4 when it was happening, but now people are putting up there as one of the best chapters. Which I don't disagree with, but there is definitely a push and pull between pure nostalgia blinding them of a season/chapter or complaining during it for the sake of complaining. But at the end, it comes down to the message of this video, appreciating what we have now.
This is a very good video, and I'm very happy you spoke from a general standpoint very calm. It restored my faith in this community, awesome video once more, you earned yourself a subscriber
@caspy-fn Indeed they are. That's why I don't think it's valid for nostalgic people to mention OG Season as 100% guaranteed evidence that Chapter 1 was the peak of the game. I bet tons of players wouldn't have been happy remembering that until the release of golf carts, your main method of transport was walking.
I think you're confusing whiny kids with real people. Myself and all my friends had the time of our lives in chapter 1 up until season 9, we had fun the first two seasons of ch2 and then quit when they flooded the map. We all came back for OG last year and had a great time, then came back for remix and we're having fun with it as well. To a great many people, chapter 1 was peak because it was simply better. The people who only follow they trend of hating/loving certain seasons are simply following the hivemind bc they're incapable of having their own thought processes.
I started Fortnite when it dropped on Switch during Season 4 and I remember mostly loving Ch1 despite 2 issues I had with S9 and SX (Season 9 map changes not feeling too interesting and the mechs not being just something for Team Rumble only) but despite that Season X is still my favorite because of how cool the Rift Zone idea was. Ch2 I felt was overall solid, not much to complain about or praise. Ch3 I didnt play much of cause I took a break from the game and now I regret missing out on Spiderman and Spider Gwen. But I feel like Id have the same feelings about Ch3 that I did for Ch2. Ch4 I just hated besides two things which was MEGA City and the cool mythic weapons, besides that I still till this day feel its weak. Ch5 I despise for a mountain of reasons which mainly boils down to Epic changing things that didnt need to be changed and I dont see myself ever feeling different about it in the future.
Honestly. I advocated for all the chapter 1 seasons people hated on when I played them. Season 5 was great, I was fine with season 6. And seasons 7, 9, and x were underrated In my opinion. It was just because the game was more simple. And back then, it worked. But I do feel like it won’t be the same for the new permanent og mode. The skill ceiling has raised 3x as high as season x. And it won’t have the same vibes as before. But I still welcome the change. As it will give a break from the chaotic Fortnite as of recent, and will be more simple.
Hear me out. I feel that everybody hates a season during it cause of the sweats, that ruins your experience, and only remember those good games they played against more equal skill players and had genuine fun. And for sweats, they are never happy for the game so I can't have any word for those.
Considering I played almost every single day back in Chapter 1, it clearly did something better than now I like Chapter 1 for its aesthetics and originally, I miss the quirky weekly challenges, the hidden plot lines told through map updates. I miss when Epic knew they had something special with Fortnite, and not just an opportunity to turn it into a giant billboard. No, I don't think epic constantly appealing to nostalgia is a good thing. But to say nothing was lost when Epic started shifting towards the metaverse would miss the point of why people made Fortnite BR so popular in the first place.
Exactly. I didnt just like the game because of my friends. I was little baby boy back in seasons 3-5 and i grinded the game all by myself. I would only acensionly play with my brother and couzin
Having reload next to Ch2 remix made me realize how overrated the Fortnite Classic era is. I remember having so much fun last season with the first half being marvel and the second being an amazing fortnitemares. I played back and forth between Pubs and Reload because both of them were just great different experiences to play, but now playing ch2 remix (and problably now with ch1 again) it just feels like Reload but worse in every aspect to the point I already quit playing Pubs this season and only stick with reload. Maybe we needed reload for people to finally wake up to the realization OG wasn't that good to begin with, it's actually rather boring imo. I can't wait to have fun again with chapter 6.
@@ancientslav4863 so your argument why I find chapter 1 and 2 boring now is just because you think I didn't play during that era? you really think every og player is blinded by the same nostalgia? hahaha Knowing the lobotomized state of the fortnite player base I wouldn't doubt that's the case
Fn needs to be simpel no jadpack or stupid weapens like in chaptern5. I love chpter 2 besides the map en bosses because its simpel. Love how we have two totally different thougts of how fn sjout become
Fortnite has two audiences. Theres the players who want fast paced gameplay with a ton of gimmicks, and those that don't. The people who don't prefer reload, and OG and the remix season for its more balanced and simple metas (besides RG minigun lmao), which reward skillful decision making and smart fighting.
I kind of like the remix of chapter 2 and I think fortnite was smart in improving on chapter 2 even if it's just cosmetically (tho the lowrider jump glitch was rly fun). The part i personally dont like the most is the ice spice shark, not like I like any of the celebrities this season, just ice spice would be the one i personally dislike the most. Also when thinking about the live stream it makes this all kind of feel like a sellout ad in my opinion. Still excited for chapter 6 tho
Now that I think about it if turbo build/sweaty building is present in at least the first few seasons of the mode that might drive some casual players away from that mode. idk what other people's thoughts are on this id like to hear them
@EtiennevanEs Maybe not removing zero build although it's true the map wasn't designed for zero build so there's a lot of open space which is bad for zero build players
The map was boring and the Poi’s were fun, but still mid imo. And some of the random houses scattered around the map were literally the same building. The loot pool was fun, but before Zero Build, getting hit for 200 was just annoying. Especially since people started getting good at builds. I think OG is fine, but too many people use Nostalgia (like Ninja and Dr. Lupo in that Courage JD clip) as a genuine REASON to be critical against anything current. Playing series like Pokemon and Yugioh, it gets mad annoying when the company HAS to shill for the og’s who probably make up a smaller percentage of the active playerbase. Like I can’t enjoy anything from the newer versions of these games because people scream about og. Chapter 1 walked, so Chapters 3-4 could sprint. The weapons they introduced in those 2 chapters were some of the most interesting ones ever. Same with some of the mechanics and POI’s
chapter 1 seasons 1-7 were one of the only seasons i remember playing and actually not complaining about really anything i think my only complaint was epic games getting rid of siphon stretched res and glider redaploy not to say there was never a season or update without contriversy back then it was just at the time i didnt care at all abt that stuff i just genuinely enjoyed goofing off sweating in cups doing clan tryouts trying to become a chronic member (lol) and chillin wit my friends although i did think the season 5 meta was stupid i never really bitched and moaned as much as others it was more like that feeling you get when you use a really broken char in a fighting game its only fun for you and pretty scummy towards others so you want it to get nerfed but at the same time you will abuse it as for double pump being vaulted so the spray meta could thrive i think that was the first moment i realized fortnite was getting "too big" and i knew and had a feeling down the line this game would become wayyyy more catered to noobs in the future and coming to that conclusion made me sad and distraught at such a defining moment in time the main thing i remember what fortnite was known for building/editing double pump and the fact its a cartoony br those were like the main 4 defining factors of fortnite for me at the time ever since they got rid of the double pump it kinda forever made fights just that much more boring and elongated and it switched from players sacrificing their defense/overbuilding and sacrificing those risky 50/50 shots to being the most effecient in getting kills without taking any dmg and abusing your mechanics i miss when pumps could basically snipe people and almost one shot walls it was fun lmao and i think thats what fortnite is missing the most these days forget themes and complicated story lines is it fun? and can i play it and enjoy it with/without friends.
the thing about og that makes it so good is that it doesn't need gemic weapons, boss poi's, or even collabs to make it as good as it was. OG fortnite is purely original and simple. sure we can have some collabs here and there, but they never took away from the season or the gameplay. they co existed in unique ways that we trully don't see anymore. would it get boring if they kept to that style, yes. would it be boring now and days sense we gotten alot more stuff, no. fortnite needs some form of simplicity back, and this is the gamemode that's going to bring it back.
The graphics the gameplay the movement the lighting the player base the hype around the game everything was just better coming from a Christmas 2017 player this og mode is only gonna be good if its a 1 for 1 recreation i really hope it is and another thing i think most ppl that say ppl like me are glazing were too young to actually enjoy chapter 1 example am 20 was 13 went I started i only want feedback from ppl my age or older that played from the near start
Glad to see someone talk about this. Even though i started in Chapter 3, every chapter even till now, its almost the same trend in “hate now, love later” thanks for giving this a voice
Honestly, the best chapters have been Chapter 1 and Chapter 5 simply because of the gameplay and the map as well as events and storyline I am not personally affected by nostalgia eg I hate Chapter 4 but loved chapter 1 at the time especially Season X to be honest
The first weeks of the og fortnite would be cool. But to be honest i wont be playing it that much due to the fact the chapter 1 map that they choosed is the season 1 map which it does not have tilted towers and also looks dry as hell. Is all just green afk. Idk if it has some transitional tools in there. But if it does i know for a fact that is going to be hella poor as shit. If they just put the chapter 1 season 4 or season 7 maps i might reconsider play. But as for right now im going to play mode just to get a win and then never comeback to it ever again due to how dry the map is and also because i have never played chapter 1 season 0-1 nor season 2. I just wanna try it out thats all
I think the best way to bring people back to normal battle royale is to make the map graphics and art style of older chapters. They were actually better. There is no other reason why OG is better.Only the imagination and creativity.
11 minutes of waffling. You say the game mode will fail halfway through the video because people will get bored and leave, then you say the game mode will be a success three minutes later. I demand my 11 minutes back.
I started in c3s1. I loved the entire chapter. I go to c4 and I realize,"hey c3 wasn't THAT good, and c4 is WAY better..." Until c5. I hated it. But now that I look back at it, it was ass, but not TOTALLY ass.
Honestly I never found the chpt 2 map to be that big, just kinda barren that epic got better at populating with more interesting landmarks in later seasons and chapters. Even during season x and og, between locals were always kinda basic.
og was better it was really because of the nice consistency of the feel of the game, which ended in about c2s5, but the game was honestly good until c5 its just way too much about money now
no doubt about it it is better for sure the game was true to its self they created there own skins unique emotes and alot more 100% og fortnite will always be better
why do you think people didnt turn on og fortnite during the og season last year, though? was it because something like og hadnt happened before? but yeah besides that i agree. its always weird having people nonstop shitting on games and then a couple years later theyre like "oh this was peak actually". def not just a fortnite issue, since thats what happened for every zelda game after ocarina of time and before breath of the wild, the new game was hated on release and the one before it was seen as peak and similar things have happened to some sonic games, but those are just the examples im personally familiar with. im sure there are more. i think people just need to be more okay with taking breaks from fortnite (and other long-term games for that matter). if you arent having fun, just stop playing or drastically decrease how much you play BR. its what i did last season, i was just having no fun during most of it aside from when i played with friends, so i just moved to stw and other games for the time being. i think people would be able to talk about previous seasons without it either being the second gift of god or the seventh circle of hell if they didnt have this weird obligation to play the season so much. like, i get it, you love this game and want to play it. i get it, i really do, but breaks are a good thing.
The nostalgia thing is out of control some players just can't see the flaws that some of these past seasons had. They will always think a season was perfect which isn't true at all they just don't want to admit because it's nostalgia.
have you considered that people can prefer them, regardless of nostalgia. Even outside of people clamoring for fortnite OG to come back, there are entire communities that have existed for years that exclusively play on private servers that run old seasons of the game, such as project ERA or Nexus pr EZFN. Personally I have played on them recently to experience chapter 1 season 4, 7, and 8 again and I was having a blast since it was more fun than chapter 5 to me. I also loved fortnite OG season, Remix, and Reload, despite being someone who started playing in late chapter 2 and has spent most of my time on the chapter 3 and 4 islands
@@caspy-fn Damn, you can’t just say that. You can’t just speak the truth like that. But true, Chapter 5, Season 1 was some absolute fiction, snipers and all. The one month OG fortnite was sandwiched between 2 original seasons.
@@caspy-fn yea your right. I love the slow clunky movement combined with raritys removed and the locker ui being terrible. I love the ai Generated item shops with the disgusting graphics and the over powered mythics everyone can spam 😀
I am so happy to find someone that is not blinded by Nostalgia. Hearing your videos warms my heart to hear I’m not the only person who is not Nostalgia Blind
The OG season will always be better for some people because it was less commercial for musicians and more simplistic. All thus game seems to do these days is hype up a concert
Bringing back OG and making people realise that it wasn’t as good as they remember will bring back focus onto the main game. This is a win win situation for people who like the new game and people who want the old game back.
but they brought back OG in November last year and the game had the highest consistent playercount across that map that it has ever had since chapter 1. I would concede that chapter 1 was worse if those playercounts fell off after the first week, but they didn't. People loved the chapter 1 map, lootpool, and gameplay as proven by then. Only thing worse about chapter 1 was lack of sprinting and mantling IMO as they added so much to the gameplay
@ yes, I agree. OG last year was great, I’m just saying that if it gets stale, then it can help people get some closure, or to help them let go of the older times. Personally I love old Fortnite more anyway, I’m just trying to create an end to the argument.
The issues with OG are minor compared to the current game. Very minor. The current game, and Chapter 5 in particular, had massive, game-breaking, game-altering issues. The primary problem was bots. The number of bots went up to 75 in most Chapter 5 lobbies. Completely unacceptable. Another issue is SBMM/EOMM, which was not present in OG. And of course the collaborations have gone overboard - I don't think people mind Fortnite with some collaborations - what they mind is a bunch of collaborations masking themselves as a game formerly known as Fortnite. And entire collaborations seasons. Not to mention all the ridiculous weapons, mythics, medallions, cars, etc. Was OG perfect? No. But the current game is a complete cluster F.
I think it will be good. I think people would still love it 10 months time. I think it’s gonna be good times. It’s gonna be good season like going through seasons every 30 days it’s gonna be very good. I don’t know why a lot of people are saying that it’s not gonna be great and like this could be bad for Fortnite OG and stuff like that I mean it’s gonna be good Because we’re going through seasons it’s not like it’s gonna stay with one season everybody gonna get bored after a while we’re going to the next season like three days after, so yeah
Valid video, especially the stuff about how people only enjoyed stuff when its was over and how people abandon ship when its unpopular to hate on a certain season. During the first week of remix I saw 3 shorts getting nostalgic for chapter 5 season 1 of all seasons.
Also, I have actually enjoyed playing the Chapter 2 Remix, I’m not sure why everyone seems to hate it so much. Sure it doesn’t have the best loot pool the game has ever had, but I enjoy that map with its POIs, and nothing has changed with the mythic loot itself. Other than the collabs, nothing is different from the original Chapter 2. And maybe people are just crying because like you said, people only like a game when they think of it with nostalgia, but this is almost exactly like what Chapter 2 was. And I really enjoyed Chapter 2 season 2 which is pretty much the only season this Remix is based around.
@ Actually, I do like the loot pool, just not certain guns. The map is fine. It’s not nearly as good as the OG map, but it’s better than the other maps
- Higher quality skins - More variety in terms of gamemodes people can play - Numerous quality of life improvements that weren't in Chapter 1 - Better movement - Bigger item shops with more things to buy each day - Non exclusive battle passes
I think the simplicity of old fortnite is what makes it so much better. Chapter 2 was very fun but now they added all of the collabs instead of actually bringing back chapter 2. I think Fortnite would be a lot better if they could just stick to their own ideas. Chapter 1 was simple, fun, and worth playing and grinding through the battlepasses. Now its just a bunch of collabs and realism in a game that was supposed to be a cartoon br game.
liked & subbed, finally i find a video about this. every single season since the beginning gets trashed by the community then next season or chapter it’s nonstop glaze. i wager that the switch up on chapter 5 will happen two weeks into ch6s1
the graphics ambience music was better and the simple loot pool even the weapon description when you look at them instead of a backgroundless with less colors
I’ve noticed the community can never be satisfied. I played in chapter 1 so I have the experience. One thing with the nostalgia blinding is in wrecked. People said the cars were stronger than the mechs. No they were not, maybe in dps and movement but the thing is that the cars were everywhere. Mechs were worse as they were very finite and encouraged teaming in solos. Also another can be renegade raider, if it released in the shop normally no one would give a shit about it due to it being so bland. Also in season X they wanted a new map, once we got a new map they wanted to go back, and not to one near the latter half. No, no, no they wanted the first map. You know the one made in 2 months. The shittiest map the game has ever had. Like I say it’s bad and people get mad as apparently the first map made in 2 months using reused assets can’t be bad. Like it was shit, very empty. Which brings me to the issue no one points out. The recent new maps have been very empty. There’s a lack of landmarks and unnamed houses and all. Those breathe life into the map but no one says they should be added. Also going back the community is entitled and seems to lack a single brain cell. Like everyone complains about the length of chapter 2 season 1, fine I agree it was a bit too long. However saying it had no updates is stupid. Also the idea of it being for no reason also pisses me off. I’m no game dev but I have a thing called common sense and basic deduction. Chapter 1 was easier to develop for for the team as it was completely built off of save the world and they knew how to use those tools. Chapter 2 they switched engines this the dev team were inexperienced with it. That’s why it took a lot of time. Also marvel season and the contract probably causing a delay. However everyone says chapter 2 season 2 was perfect. No it also suffered delays. Yes it was Covid and people seemed to be more fine with it but people wanted the season to end. Also that needed time to be made but also has anyone ever thought at henchmen might be a cause for the length as they were new for epic games. Also late chapter 2 having little map changes being a complaint annoys me about the community. They bitched in chapter 1 once map changes happened that took away. Once dusty divot was created they wanted dusty depot which was said to be a bad location back. Yeah I wonder why epic didn’t make big map changes as they did what the community wanted and did little. Then went full force with a new map and made the recent 2 small and empty in the beginning. Obviously so they can add new stuff in the empty locations to not annoy the community. Then for stuff like old cosmetics returning those debates are more heated than politics. I’m sure debates between memebers on far sides of the spectrum have more civil debates than old entitled players and ones who just want to get Spider-Man and all. Also of fortnite is worse as it was less developed and once again made in 2 months.
Thank you for calling out these nostalgia tinted players, i remember all seasons since ch1 s5 how the community haven't stopped complaining about literally everything and not stopping, this is why the community will never get a better game cause they always want to go to the past instead of experimenting like they did in ch1. But if we don't give the game a chance to finally move on, how can we expect any real new good seasons?
season 5💀 brother u joined during the start of the sweat era, u have nothing to compare it to. also ppl just liked how simple the game was. guns, builds, and simple but cool skins. they focused on what the players wanted instead of focusing on celebrity collabs and crazy micro transactions. We thought it was insane when the floss was an emote. Now we got snoop dogg and ice spice shooting lightning strikes out their hands while the ninja turtles build towers above u. it was sooooo much more chill then
I feel like you're just hating on chapter one now. I started to play chapter one, and I got to say I didn't have a problem with season five. But I definitely think that Epic Games needs to bring back aspects of OG Fortnite, which are fun game modes every week, original emotes, and the story events, all of which are what made chapter one Fortnite so great. You know how cool a demolition derby mode in WRECKED would have been or an infiltration mode in UNDERGROUND?
Thank you for speaking up I find it incredibly annoying when people do stuff like that and this is not only applies to fortnite community is he can apply to every other community it's just the Nostalgia problem in general and you can actually hurt the game.

I don't have discord but have valid opinions
The reason I like OG is the loot pool. It didn't have ridiculous wwapons from collaborations, was simpler and changed less each season.
yeah, simple loot pools are better imo, its more about some luck with finding items and then skill with everyone having basically the same gear just with different rarities, instead of who gets the mythic weapon from a collab boss or whatever it is now
I honestly hate this take, Fortnites expansive story and fun items are what make it original.
TBH fortnite hasn't had a "simple" lootpool since ch1 s7 but here we are with a dozen of you thinking it was like that
so u liked it because it was ass, the seasons with much more wacky and creative items are WAY better and far more entertaining
No you are not wrong this is true and this can apply to any other community as well.
No collabs every fifteen seconds, better map, map updates that were actually impactful, no annoying AI or bots (at the time), better lighting, better atmosphere, game had its own identity, etc
Yeah, it was better.
Literally everyone says this every time a chapter or season ends, everything is better in the past apparently
Nah (early) chapter 2 clears
hot take but I think that chapter 1 while fun people act as in it came through their screen and eliminated their least favorite person
Istg I always loved chapter 4, except season 3, but I loved it when it came out and I’m not joking.
Idk why everybody hates chapter 4 it is the 3rd best chapter 1=2>4>3>5
The only thing better about OG Fn was how the Storyline was told through the island, how the island evolved over time, and the fact that most people were kids when Og was a thing (including me)
+ hitscan, cartoony graphics, MUCH better environmental sounds, less or no colabs, ...
the game had more identity and the weapons were nicer
i love fortnite but I hate the lack of casual play It's like I have to sweat in every fight I go in.
They should’ve gone full throttle with their ideas instead of nerfs out the wazzoo
what fortnite actually needs to do is to actually make a fun season
That is like easier said than done.
@ yep
You said “That’s what’s wrong with nostalgia, it makes you look at it with rose tinted glasses” atleast twice
Gotta make that 10m video long for ad revenue 🤷♂️
@ well monetization is only 8 minutes, that’s why there’s SO many videos that are barely over 8 minutes long
Wow i didn't know people hated season 5.
C5 is worst chapter
wait until u realize that the story was always like that, u dont need constant updates to enjoy the game stop being spoiled, and collabs make the game significantly more fun
Now it's "oh buy the Incredibles" or "Here's Avatar to interrupt the season's theme for no reason"
or "Attack on Titan is here now. They don't do anything there just here to take up the 'secret' skin's spot."
And the lack of updates or just 1 huge update (Granted Fortnitemares was amazing) just makes each season feel drawn out and boring.
0:29 Oops Sorry For The Tesla
You love giving my man money I swear 😂

Sorry Caspy 😅
This video is too good💯💯💯like actually so true…
Yeah no nobody ever said chapter 1 season 9 and X were good. Nobody likes those to this day xd
@@ancientslav4863 you mean chapter 2 season 6 primal?
@@ancientslav4863i fully agree with u
@@Andre-yy3en yes. Typo. Ch2s2 Midas season is was all time fav.
truth is, nostalgia is blinding. I just try to appreciate what we have. The only thing I feel is missing from current fortnite is the more bright and cartoony art style and the storyline. Other than that, It feels as if they look past every issue cuz it’s og.
People always think, that because something isn't new, but older, its automatically nostalgia.,
Nah og fortnite is just good so shut up 😊
@@PLUSHPALS3 how about you formulate your own opinion without throwing senseless insults if you want to have a valid or an understanding opinion? 😊
@@PLUSHPALS3👎👎👎👎👎
Yet it isn’t nostalgia that made OG popular? As proven time and time again. People just genuinely want the cartoony style, chaotic and simple loot.
He said “rose tinted glasses” 14 times
cause it's true?
I hate the “oh you’re a new player if you like X.”
Every season, every chapter, every update, they all have flaws. Some more than others. But they all have their upsides as well.
This is why I’ve been saying that OG will eventually fail. It’s going to burn out fast.
its such a dumb argument. like i play zero build exclusively. i dont like builds. when did i start playing? chapter 1 season 4. taste isnt solely predicated on when you started playing. so stupid.
@ Absolutely agreed. I started in C1S3, and I also have a background in Game Development too, so for me it’s even worse.
@ I agree 100%. I fucking love the mammoth pistol.
@@dialga236 Fellow chapter one season 4 player, how do u do? :)
I personally liked chapter 4 :)
But at the end, it comes down to the message of this video, appreciating what we have now.
season 8 with siphon was the objective peak of fortnite and has only regressed since then
This is a very good video, and I'm very happy you spoke from a general standpoint very calm. It restored my faith in this community, awesome video once more, you earned yourself a subscriber
A small part of me wishes that Epic removed sprinting and sliding from the OG game mode just to see how the community reacts to it.
I have to disagree, they’re objectively amazing for the gameplay of the game
@caspy-fn Indeed they are. That's why I don't think it's valid for nostalgic people to mention OG Season as 100% guaranteed evidence that Chapter 1 was the peak of the game. I bet tons of players wouldn't have been happy remembering that until the release of golf carts, your main method of transport was walking.
Your main movement shoud br walking besides launchpads en schokwaves
Did you not play season X it was literally unplayable
Op, you ever consider if the player base isn’t a monolith?
Hear me out. I feel that everybody hates a season during it cause of the sweats, that ruins your experience, and only remember those good games they played against more equal skill players and had genuine fun. And for sweats, they are never happy for the game so I can't have any word for those.
Considering I played almost every single day back in Chapter 1, it clearly did something better than now
I like Chapter 1 for its aesthetics and originally, I miss the quirky weekly challenges, the hidden plot lines told through map updates.
This comment makes me believe you have never played OG.
@@ancientslav4863 so your argument why I find chapter 1 and 2 boring now is just because you think I didn't play during that era? you really think every og player is blinded by the same nostalgia? hahaha
Knowing the lobotomized state of the fortnite player base I wouldn't doubt that's the case
Now that I think about it if turbo build/sweaty building is present in at least the first few seasons of the mode that might drive some casual players away from that mode. idk what other people's thoughts are on this id like to hear them
We have to get extra mode without turbo build or replace zb
Everyone should watch this video.
they need to make every season a selectable map with every feature and function of that season
Bro was talking about fake nostalgia without talking about chapter 2 💀
But was chapter 2 in better
@@sammyhorace7523 personally, yeah. But I also really like chapter 1
I only prefer og for it's artstyle, newer fortnite imo is just better gameplay wise
Beautiful thumbnail in my opinion. Keep it up my brexit geeza 🎉🎉
Yes it will forever be the goat can't wait to play it again
It's what clickbait channels do.
@@FlipflopMount222 yea it is. This channel sucks. Used to like him but realised hes a total prick
You need to sell Rose-Tinted Glasses as merch Caspy
For his OG criticism?
@ nah no reason. I was just making a joke haha. He’s totally right about his point with people looking at og with the glasses
Even during season x and og, between locals were always kinda basic.
og was better it was really because of the nice consistency of the feel of the game, which ended in about c2s5, but the game was honestly good until c5 its just way too much about money now
no doubt about it it is better for sure the game was true to its self they created there own skins unique emotes and alot more 100% og fortnite will always
be better
day 1 player here imo the top 5 fortnite seasons in oreder are
1-c1s2
2-c1s3
3-c1s1
4-c2s2
5-c2s1
Being real chapter 1 season 4 was way better than ch2 s1
I love your videos man 😁
why bro is beefing wit me i ain’t do nun 😭🙏
SKINS WERE ALSO WAYY BETTER for sureeeeeeeeeeeee
Was it better simple answer yes far better
why do you think people didnt turn on og fortnite during the og season last year, though? was it because something like og hadnt happened before?
but yeah besides that i agree. its always weird having people nonstop shitting on games and then a couple years later theyre like "oh this was peak actually". def not just a fortnite issue, since thats what happened for every zelda game after ocarina of time and before breath of the wild, the new game was hated on release and the one before it was seen as peak and similar things have happened to some sonic games, but those are just the examples im personally familiar with. im sure there are more.
i think people just need to be more okay with taking breaks from fortnite (and other long-term games for that matter). if you arent having fun, just stop playing or drastically decrease how much you play BR. its what i did last season, i was just having no fun during most of it aside from when i played with friends, so i just moved to stw and other games for the time being. i think people would be able to talk about previous seasons without it either being the second gift of god or the seventh circle of hell if they didnt have this weird obligation to play the season so much. like, i get it, you love this game and want to play it. i get it, i really do, but breaks are a good thing.
I fucking LOVE this video. You deserve a sub. 😊
I like the loot the crazy broken things in it the map I don’t really like it but don’t hate it I like the events
Seems like we’re never happy 🤔
did i not watch this video already or am i going crazy
You watched it its just that bro is running out of ideas to milk this topic so he is saying the same thing but with a different title 😁
You’re going crazy, wake up.
Kidding, seriously though, wake up.
play chapter 5 then go back and play any of the first 4 seasons of chapter 1 and i’ll let you decide.
@@PrettyboyAshtun Those 4 seasons had no where near as much content as Chapter 5
@@caspy-fn
Damn, you can’t just say that.
@ The movement is literally the same speed…
I am so happy to find someone that is not blinded by Nostalgia. Hearing your videos warms my heart to hear I’m not the only person who is not Nostalgia Blind
Fr
OG fortnite was simple but I don't think its as great. No mantling or sliding, and the lack of zero build.
Also i liked Ch5 Season 3 while everyone hated it
Fortnite is a game that became popular because of building in a shooter game.
ok that is a fair argument. like thoes are quality of life things that should be in all gamemodes.
@@SMNFXCN that season caused a civil war amongst the fanbace
Yes.
realest shit ever
they removed rarity and changed everything from the old simple graphics since then its not the same anymore
Not to mention changing the gunplay 😭 doesnt even feel like the same game
PLEASE STOP CHANGING UR OPINION😭😭😭
The OG season will always be better for some people because it was less commercial for musicians and more simplistic. All thus game seems to do these days is hype up a concert
Ch2 s2 is one of the best seasons ever and I will enjoy the OG mode
If not the best
Life was better
yes
I don’t get the people that are hating remix. The lack of fights isn’t really a big deal to me but I guess I’m more of a passive guy.
The point of the game is to shoot people, it's not surprising that people don't like not fighting because of a big map and 50% bots in the game
Nah I stick with my opinions chapter 1 was mid I loved C2 C3 was good but not great C4,5 🤮
“bLiNdEd By NoStAlgIa” or we just preferred the game then?
It haves a great lootpool but bad map
@ Actually, I do like the loot pool, just not certain guns. The map is fine. It’s not nearly as good as the OG map, but it’s better than the other maps
Yeah, as much as I don’t like the collab (mainly ice spice), the map and the game is pretty much like the original.
@@MonkeMan2.0 Yeah, I’m not a fan of the collabs either.
7:36 name one
- Higher quality skins
- More variety in terms of gamemodes people can play
- Numerous quality of life improvements that weren't in Chapter 1
- Better movement
- Bigger item shops with more things to buy each day
- Non exclusive battle passes
@@caspy-fnhigher quality skins is subjective (if you are only talking about battle passes, most early chapter 1 item shop skins sucked).
@ Most chapter 1 skins are just default models with different outfits
@@caspy-fn still good though, especially Mission Specialist
I just hate modern fortnite, call me nostalgia blind but I just enjoy the simplicity of it, the simple map and the simple weapons.
W video tho Caspy
I think thats why they are adding OG permanently, a lot of ppl like simple and they want that option
Caspy and klarque clint ganing yaoi when
the graphics ambience music was better and the simple loot pool even the weapon description when you look at them instead of a backgroundless with less colors
Yapper i aint readin allat
YAP YAP YAP I JUST WANT TO HATE YAP YAP YAP.
Now we got snoop dogg and ice spice shooting lightning strikes out their hands while the ninja turtles build towers above u. it was sooooo much more chill then
@swervo990 no im talking about s5 but im playing since ch1 s0 so i know what i'm talking about lmao
