There is a pull-off that is supposed to be between the 12 and the 10 on the first string in the second measure of the solo ( 7:04 ). That is how I'm playing it. I noticed the pull-off was missing too late in the editing so I'm pinning this comment.
Maybe I need to pick up the guitar more often... Your picking is tremendous. Just the tremolo picking in the verse sounds awesome and you did it spot on. I need to practice a hell of a lot more.

Yeah I teach my students power chords first before learning solos. A great song to pick up on your first guitar solo would be green day’s holiday. Majority power chords and octaves. Almost no palm muting as well. Blink 182 all the small things is another great song. When you’re alittle advance black sabbath iron man without the solo. Arctic monkey do I wanna know and enter sandman.
Mz guitars does amazing tutorials for advance guitarist . You can still try it out. But the progress would be alittle slower than usually. Power through and you’ll get to it. The important thing is to observe which finger goes where on the fret board when he’s playing .

Slipknot is a bit tough to do from the transcription side and even playing side at the moment. I'm a bit tight on time and the weather is still scorching hot. However, the next months are looking relatively bright and doing more Slipknot is high on my list as soon as the conditions allow it.

Try to learn alternate picking while u can. It will pay off in the future when playing songs with high bpm
How's your riffing and overall rhythm playing?
