Showing Elphaba’s dad that she Alr has more friends and more opportunities then nessa. Also the why Glinda is looking at Elphaba’s father is killer😭

Its crazy that Elphaba is popular with everyone and all Nessa has is a boyfriend who clearly doesn't like her and is desperate to cheat on her yet Governor Thropp is acting like Nessa is thriving and Elphaba is barely getting by
You'd think that after Madame Morrible saw the blatant display of favoritism and perhaps even neglect, she wouldn't try to hurt her more. Or perhaps she realized she could use that lack of love to drive Elphaba into her trap further.
