Star Wars Analyst and Nick must have fallen out because I distinctly remember the fact that they were collaborating. What I think happened was Star Wars Analyst wasn't paying Nick for his time/works that he was digging up. Now Nick sees that Star Wars Anaylst is now actively putting a lot of the footage behind a paywall making you be a channel member to watch it with somewhat touched-up visuals and FXs. SW Analyst is essentially taking advantage of work allowed to him through goodwill or an agreement that they must've made prior.

That really shocked me. I had viewed some SW Analyst videos, because they came up in the automated TH-cam suggestion panel, and thought that he (the Analyst) was getting them directly from someone. To think that he just grabs them off of someone else's channel and removes any credit info (!) is just horrible.

What a serious class act. This man who is responsible for some of the most exciting fight scenes in all of cinema agrees to sit down with a guy who he has never met, nor may have never even heard of and tells us about all the cool things that could have been, as well as all the things happened on set that probably no one has ever heard before. Not only that but he sits down on multiple occasions and speaks to Theory as if they were good friends. What a great guy and great interview.
So glad you got to do this interview with Nick. That Star Wars Analyst guy said some horrendous things to him and doesn’t deserve to call himself a fan. Please subscribe to Nick for his videos and don’t support that guy.
If you go to the Analyst’s channel and check out his playlists, you will find that one of them is behind paywall/membership and consists of exactly the videos that Mr. Gillard asked be taken down… And he has the gall to call Nick a liar all over his comment sections! In the Analyst's words: “Lucasfilm has removed all of these from my channel and does not want you seeing them...” It’s almost hilarious. He’s not even thinking of respectfully removing those videos. Amazingly, he’s learned nothing, but is STILL trying to capitalize on the situation, while keeping as many of his viewers in the dark as he possibly can. It’s shameful, but the thing about people like the Analyst is, they have no shame.
What an incredible, hard working and talented person. George Lucas must be so proud to have someone like Nick to work on Star Wars. Horrified by the actions of Star Wars Analyst if it is true, to steal the content of an absolute legend. May the force be with Nick
I mean, it has to be true. I don't see why anyone should question this. This is coming from the master choreographer himself, who's also worked straight from the company and created all the duels that bratty kid took from him and claimed as his own, and either way, he officially doesn't want anyone to reproduce his work whatsoever (he even mentions it in his own channel's bio) unless he gives them explicit permission to do so, like with SWT in this interview, but not most others and clearly he's against SWA doing it, as he's stated. It's not like Theory was interviewing some second hand source speaking on behalf of Nick in regards to this incident, it's Nick himself saying this on here lol. The horse's mouth. The displayed texts could be faked, but they're very telling nonetheless.
I can't really explain why, but it means so much to me that Nick still casually remembers little Star Wars details even though he's only watched them once. Like the class of star ship in TPM and the species "Nemoidians," etc. He didn't *need* to know some of those things to choreograph the fights and whatnot. Idk, it's just nice to see that he cared about Star Wars beyond it being just a job.
That part that “everybody hates” is fucking awesome. It’s such a cool way of telling the audience during the fight that Anakin and Obi wan both realize they are matched up to well and are a mirror image. So they start spinning their sabers looking for an opening or a mistake, however they can’t find one so they just lock blades and both try to use the force instead. And we know how that went. 😂 It’s such a genius fight.
You can tell what kind of person @StarEarsTheory is considering the kind of guest he has on and are willing to work with him. Great to see this kind of content that no one else is doing. Love your dedication man
Hat's OFF, dawg! You did GOOD bringing this man in! Sorry to hear about the crap he's been through - he'll come out stronger, better than a Sith who's endured pain. Excellent job.
My mind is blown away watching this right now! This is the coolest interview I have seen in a long time! Thank you SW Theory and a HUGE thank you to Nick Gilllard for everything he's done for SW. Here's hoping for a future interview with Hayden, Ewan, and eventually George Lucas himself...
Thank you so much for this interview Mr. Theory! Absolutely amazing. Can’t believe how Nick Gillard was treated by star wars analyst. I’m sure he’s regretting it now after watching this video. Thanks for all you do for the Star Wars community and always being so loyal to the fandom. Keep up the great work!
Big thank you to Mr. Gillard for not only taking time out of his day to have this chat but also for all the work he did on our favourite movies. Thank you @Star Wars Theory for getting to a place where you could have this interview and share it with us with your high-quality videos. May the Force be with you both.
Thank you Nick Gillard and SWT for doing this interview! Nick I hope you know how much the fans of these movies appreciate your creativity and hard work
WOW, i cannot believe we got this amazing interview. its like talking to the God of War of starwars. i love to watch a sequel with all the fights and dark scenes that mr. gillard talked about. instantly subscribed to his channel. thank you for this amazing interview Theory !
Amazing interview! what a once in a lifetime opportunity that really shows how much work you have put into building the channel. You can tell Nick simply loves his craft. The fact that someone is trying to take advantage of the GIFT Nick gave us all with his archived never seen footage is honestly outraging - reported Star Wars analyst as soon as I heard that section of the video. It is really sad that TH-cam will often side with the bigger channel but hopefully this will push more people to report him and give nicks channel the attention it deserves.
Just now finished watching the entire interview. Will be reporting in a couple mins myself as well. Truly asinine behavior. Like what Ewan McGregor once stated to douche canoes acting as "fans": "You're no Star Wars fan."
Amazing interview ! That guys is the reason why the prequel fights are sooooo amazing. He deserves so much more credit. Very proud of you Theory. Dreams do comes true ❤
Loved watching this. It felt like I was watching the DVD bonus material like I did all the time as a kid. Love this channel, thank you Theory for having this interview.
12:49 Dude don't hide the SW Analyst's name. We have to troll tf out of him, his channel, and all his videos until he stops. He single-handedly is now keeping Nick from posting more of his amazing videos. And this can't continue. Who knows how much longer we have with Nick. And to not be able to see the SW material he has before he passes on just because some punk on the net is stealing his material would be tragic and unacceptable. So we have to do what we can to stop it.
If you go to the Analyst’s channel you will see he has a members-only playlist made up entirely of the videos Nick wanted removed. The clickbait-worthy hype of a description goes like this: “Lucasfilm has removed all of these from my channel and does not want you seeing them...” Still trying to save face. Pathetic.
@@nothinghighandawful Sad. He's only doing it because he thinks no one knows and he can get away with it. So call him out on it every chance you get. Hopefully, with enough pressure from enough people, he'll stop.
@@nothinghighandawful Hell yeah. Don't let up. If he gets shredded by a lot of people or just often enough every time he posts these videos he won't keep doing it.
This whole video was a must-watch. Thank you for everything Nick. My favorite fight you worked on was Maul vs Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon. I loved how you captured not only the physical differences between them but also the mental and emotional discipline the Jedi have. Maul pacing back and forth, Qui-Gon completely calm. Obi-Wan eagerly waiting to assist his master. Chills every time I watch that fight. Ray Park is the MAN!
Once again you've outdone yourself Theory! This is amazing and I can't wait to see what doors this opens for your future interviews......George 😉 Seeing your eyes open as he described the Obi Vs Ani ending, I was right there with you! Jaw was on the floor!
this is the first time I was able to actually watch the whole thing and this was literally one of the best and most entertaining interviews you’ve done I actually learned so much from this it was amazing
Thank you so much for coordinating this interview with Mr. Gillard. I love watching the stunt footage of him and the other doubles and Hayden/Ewan. Such a privilege to hear all of his thoughts, experiences, and his take on things! And what an absolutely lovely man he is to boot. I’ve enjoyed many of your videos but I don’t think I’ve been this stoked on one of them since Shards of the Past. Looking forward to what you’ve got in store for the rest of the year! Although I’m sure you know it might be difficult to top this one…but no pressure, through the power of the force all things are possible right? 😜 Anyways thank you again for the top notch content dude!
This was a great interview. I remember spending hours and hours watching the behind-the-scenes footage of him working on the stunt choreography as well. I think every fan that grew up with the prequels did lol. I hope Nick realizes just how big of an impact he made on the prequels and the fandom. I'm so glad that George chose him for the stunt work. I hate what he is going through with the punk that is copying his videos. There's always someone trying ti cause issues.
What an awesome video, so entertaining! Couldn't believe the messages and stuff regarding that analyist guy though, crazy! Also pretty nuts to think Nick could have worked on LOTR too! :0
It’s so fascinating how the people behind the scenes (including the actors) aren’t necessarily huge Star Wars fans. One of the more recent interviews with Hayden and Ewan really show that when they struggled with basic Star Wars knowledge such as which planet jabas palace is on.
The timing for this is so weird. Last semester I wrote a paper breaking down the evolution of fight choreography in the Star Wars movies. Hearing from Nick himself about this is going to be awesome!
This was fantastic SWT, and it's so great you're getting recognition from Lucas studios. This guy is a legend in the industry. This had to be really surreal doing this interview
What a fascinating journey that man has been on. Thank you so much for sharing your time with us, Nick, and letting us know all these glorious details. Love your work, those lightsaber fights will always be my favorites. Disney has never gotten anywhere close to that level of saberplay
I loved this interview! Such a nice and cool guy. I wanted to see the cut stuff for a while but now I'm like "show us the Nick Gillard cut"! I would love to see the different and longer versions of the scenes especially order 66. If Star wars ever had one "holy crap, that's really, reeeeaaaally dark" moment it would be the uncut order 66.
Great interview, really informative! There’s a lot of interesting stuff nick talked about that was awesome to hear. But the coolest part was asking nick to say hi to Hayden, just casually talking to someone who was a great influence on the biggest franchise in history. Love to see it.
Man I love seeing the smiles between you two ehen you talk. This interview was freaking awesome. Loved all the inside interesting little tidbits throughout the interview. Man you are living the dream. So happy you got to do and experience this. Props to Nick Gillard. He is so down to earth
I met Nick once at a convention - he was an extremely friendly and approachable man. I'm so glad you got to interview him! I enjoyed watching the two of you.
I'm gonna comment before I watch, but congratulations on this interview, Theory. I know how big of a deal this is! As someone who grew up during the prequel era and loved watching the bonus dvd discs on the "making of" through Episodes I-III, you become quite familiar with these names! Very awesome! I'm gonna shut up and watch the interview now!
Nick is a goat and legend, it was the best 54 minutes and 3 seconds of this day for me. And Theory was melting from excitement, i probably couldn't even say a world so props for being able to go on with interview.
Amazing interview, just finished watching it all the way through. Incredible information from the legend himself Nick Guillard. Screw the guy stealing his work. Much love and respect to Theory for this amazing content and for being true to us fans and for being true to the story of STAR WARS!
You are truly impressive that was an EXCELLENT interview. What I appreciate about you the most is your dedication, your focus and ultimate respect for SWs as a legendary project. I also did not see any nervousness on your part as you had proclaimed earlier... thought you conducted an extremely proficient and professional interview. You are amazing and making your dreams and your creativity become legendary as well.
First thing I did after finishing watching is go subscribe to Nick's channel. What a legend, deserves all support and credit for his work!! Amazing interview, I only wish you'd do subs for it. As a not english native speaker I struggled at times because of quality of sound or pronounciation, and as a Star Wars fan I'd really want to digest every BIT of this talk (hey, I talk in absolutes but I'm not a sith, okay, I swear), it feels pity to miss any of it just coz of language barriers or sound issues. Again, massive thanks, and to Nick too, the man even come back the next day and even brought topics to talk on his own will, you didn't ask for it... now we are talking!
Thank you for this! This was an amazing interview and I loved every moment of this. I honestly am the most excited about what Nick will be digging up. Just from the sound of it, it seems he has a WHOLE STASH of treasure just waiting to be uploaded to the web. And I cannot wait to see the history of the prequel fights in action. Thank you Nick, for everything you've done and thank you Star Wars Theory for bringing such an amazing interview. Keep up the good work and look forward to seeing more as always!
Always a pleasure to meet a Jedi; thanks for this! I’ll always be thankful we had Nic Gillard’s swordsmanship during the prequels. He was a blast to fight against in the Revenge of the Sith video game
Absolutely amazing interview, what a great man. So many cool things we’d never know. Thank you Nick for all your hard work hope everything goes well with that bantha fodder of a thief.
What a legend. I remember religiously watching all the prequel trilogy behind the scenes stuff and always replaying the choreography sections. What a cool guy, so down to earth and willing to have a proper conversation. Great interview!
Great rapport between you two! It would be great to get a panel of people from the prequels together in a video chat, where they can share memories and stories with each other. I hope we see more interviews again in the future.
That was an amazing interview!! I would watch the behind the scenes and featurettes and listen to the commentaries as often as I could and this brought things to another level. I was a big fan of the Lightsaber duels that Nick Gallard coordinated but never heard or seen any interview's of him outside of that. Thank you for keeping the spirit of George Lucas's vision and version's alive. I've been beyond disappointed of what Disney has done watching this channel kind of makes me forget about it for a while.
Have you ever heard the story of Nick Gillard? He was stunt cordinator legend! He was such badass that he brought us Dual of the fates and the Battle of Heroes. Great interview Theory really enjoyed it👍🏻
Wow. 13 minut3s in and im loving every minute of this interview. Nick Guillard is an absolute bad ass! Thank you Theory, much love and respect you absolute gangster. 💯
I grew up in the Prequel era Nick made my childhood awesome with the lightsaber duels he created! My brother and I use to take our plastic lightsabers and try to recreate them, and I loved all the bts videos on the DVDs so even as a young kid I knew who Nick was, great interview!
Nick Gillard is a legend! The combination of talent both in front of and behind the cameras is what really makes the prequel fights stand out to me. I believe the prequels also raised the bar on how epic the fight/dances NEEDED to be in the Star Wars cannon moving forward and for that we have this man to thank for it! Thank you Nick Gillard for giving us such great Saber battles and for taking the time to help us understand the nuances of them here. What a fantastic interview Theory ❤

It's not like Theory was interviewing some second hand source speaking on behalf of Nick in regards to this incident, it's Nick himself saying this on here lol. The horse's mouth. The displayed texts could be faked, but they're very telling nonetheless.
Star Wars Analyst should be ashamed of himself for stealing Nick Gillard’s footage. Great interview, Star Wars Theory. :)
My mind is blown away watching this right now 😱 Thank you SW Theory and a HUGE thank you to Nick Gilllard for everything he's done for SW 💪
Yeah i really don't understand why people hate it. It makes sense in terms of the story
Can't imagine how pumped you were for this, you've been wanting this interview forever! Congrats bro
Nick Gillard is such a legend and I hope he starts getting more credit for his action sequences
So happy for you Theory that you got to talk to him at last! What a dream. You deserve this. Love your channel and may the force be with you! ❤️
I can listen to Nick talk all day about what he did in the past. Thank you for this interview and video.
“This will be a day long remembered”
-Lord Vader
I LOVE that Hayden was always working with the stunt guys for pre viz
Thank you Nick Gillard and SWT for doing this interview! Nick I hope you know how much the fans of these movies appreciate your creativity and hard work
WOW, i cannot believe we got this amazing interview. its like talking to the God of War of starwars. i love to watch a sequel with all the fights and dark scenes that mr. gillard talked about.
instantly subscribed to his channel. thank you for this amazing interview Theory !
One of the best parts of the prequels were the duels so I know this interview is going to be good
Sidious threw the fight. Gillard explained it very well. Windu's fanboys are wrong.
Thanks for the great interview, Nic Gillard and Star Wars Theory!
Bro exactly Shame on Star Wars Analyst
Just now finished watching the entire interview. Will be reporting in a couple mins myself as well. Truly asinine behavior. Like what Ewan McGregor once stated to douche canoes acting as "fans": "You're no Star Wars fan."
Amazing interview ! That guys is the reason why the prequel fights are sooooo amazing. He deserves so much more credit. Very proud of you Theory. Dreams do comes true ❤
He legitimately sounds like he enjoys talking to you. Great interview Theory
Loved watching this. It felt like I was watching the DVD bonus material like I did all the time as a kid. Love this channel, thank you Theory for having this interview.
Imagine if Theory had the money to hire Nick Gillard for his fan-films 🤯
Or at least get Nick gillard to give his thoughts, ideas and inputs on the next few would be awesome!!
@@JohnC-hj3dr I am hoping he gets listed as a consultant... that would be incredible.
Lol now what do you think? We got 'em baby, let's gooo!
How amazing getting an interview with him! I would watch the prequel behind the scenes and always loved watching him teach Hayden and Ewan
Been looking forward to this Nick Gillard is a Legend and a Kind Soul 💯☯️⚔️🙏
“I’ve been looking forward to this”
We owe nick everything, his choreography was beyond excellent and hasn't been topped since and probably won't be.
I had to pinch myself when I read Nick Gillard interview!! God bless you and best of luck with everything I'm so happy for you man!
Some insane stuff already within the first 15 minutes! So cool you got the chance to chat with him!✊🏼
Wow, great interview best Star Wars channel on TH-cam
Pathetic.
Dudes a absolute tool for doing that shit to Nick.
@@nothinghighandawful Sad. He's only doing it because he thinks no one knows and he can get away with it. So call him out on it every chance you get. Hopefully, with enough pressure from enough people, he'll stop.
@Ben BamBoo Been calling him out for two months straight…
This was amazing. Oh how sweet that alternate Anakin vs Obi fight ending would have been. Thank you for bringing us this awesome interview!
Great Interview! Thank you and Nick. And what a nice guy Nick is.Ii could listen all day to him telling stories about the Prequels
Once again you've outdone yourself Theory! This is amazing and I can't wait to see what doors this opens for your future interviews......George 😉
Seeing your eyes open as he described the Obi Vs Ani ending, I was right there with you!
Anyways thank you again for the top notch content dude!
One of the more recent interviews with Hayden and Ewan really show that when they struggled with basic Star Wars knowledge such as which planet jabas palace is on.
very cool and very unique interview from a huge part of SW history. thanks to all.
What a gem! Absolutely loved this
This man must be an amazing stunt coordinator. Nick Gillard must be very awesome. definitely the most awesome guy I've ever heard of.
I could listen to Nick tell stories all day. His fight choreography was the best!
Loved every second of it, thanks Nick and Theory for doing this!
I'm only 10 minutes in and loving it so far. Nick really gave the prequels a style that shaped the films and generation forward.
Great interview, really informative! There’s a lot of interesting stuff nick talked about that was awesome to hear. But the coolest part was asking nick to say hi to Hayden, just casually talking to someone who was a great influence on the biggest franchise in history. Love to see it.
This channel is one of the only reasons I still check into YT. Great work my guy
Congrats on getting this fantastic interview! Nick is a legend, amazing stuff! May the Force be with you!👍
That's so awesome, Nick Gillard is the best
I'm gonna comment before I watch, but congratulations on this interview, Theory. I know how big of a deal this is! As someone who grew up during the prequel era and loved watching the bonus dvd discs on the "making of" through Episodes I-III, you become quite familiar with these names! Very awesome! I'm gonna shut up and watch the interview now!
Thank you so much for getting Nick to do this interview some great insights here. Keep up the good work and looking forward to Vader episode 2
Master Nick Gillard is incredible. I could watch 3 hrs. of the fights/duels. A true artist.
This is awesome! I love these interviews, and would love to see you interview more Star Wars producers, staff, and actors! Great interview theory!
Nick is a goat and legend, it was the best 54 minutes and 3 seconds of this day for me. And Theory was melting from excitement, i probably couldn't even say a world so props for being able to go on with interview.
That was a great interview, he’s seems like such a nice guy. Can’t wait to see more interviews and other content!! 🙏
PLEASE animate the alternate fight scenes bro! Have some serious in depth talks about it and do it! What an honor to have him on, well done brother.
Hell yea dude
I love the prequels! This interview is so amazing! I would love to see more stuff like this, fantastic!
Thanks for bringing us this interview. Lot of insightful and cool new information about the prequels.
One of the best videos on the channel by far
Noice! This man is legendary. Glad that he agreed to do this. We need him back ASAP.
ive been so excited for this!! thanks for setting this up Theory, and thank you Nick Gillard for agreeing to this!!
"I thought that the lightsabers lit up through you... through your power. But I guess you just turn them on" This line had me dying lmfao
Oh man, you looked so sad when he said that those scenes from the concept art were junk... This is a killer interview by the way! Good for you landing this
